EWWWWWWW what did they do to that setup?!
That pales in comparison to the "85% new" debacle of yore.
Looks like a Tatsujin find - straight out of the trash. Maybe the filth is 85% new.
what is that sellers problem ? :? I hope no one buys it for that price :|
Today's update on the auction:
QuoteUpdate. June 4, 2008.
Thank You Everyone For Looking at this listing. I have increased the BUY IT NOW Price to $1,880. Starting bid is now at $380. My original Starting Price was $880 Just so you all know. I had no clue the market price for this thing was. I have not seen another one on ebay, except for a gray one. Which are VERY Common. The Grey ones can be just as dirty but you cannot tell. Think of APPLE 2e and OREGON TRAIL.
I'm sorry to anyone if I offended someone for selling VIDEO GAMES.

haha... he has no clue what he found... the best line from his auction "Alrighty Folks, This may be the BEST FIND for Video Games on EBAY for a while. This Gaming System dates back 1987" =D>
and ya have to feel a little sorry for him, he only has 3 fingers... poor little lamb!!
I sent him the following message:
Quote from: adosorkenYou are completely out of your mind. That thing looks like it was pulled out of the trash. No one's going to use BIN for that, and you're gonna be lucky if you even get bids on it. But hey, it's your money...throw it away however you see fit.
I cry foul!! [-X [-X
That thing certainly is foul.
Quote from: O.G.I had no clue the market price for this thing was.
You still don't, but we're not offended by your willingness to piss away good money on insertion fees.
I saw that auction too - I was aghast! That PCE is FILTHY! It's funny how clueless this guy is - and he's just dyin' to meet another clueless dude with $380 to waste on that pile of crap.
Lochlan = hilarious! you found his myspace LOL
internet is a crazy place these days...
BIN for $8,880?? Let's hope he never finds something uber rare like Gameboy Tetris, the world will simply end.
Whew, good thing he tacked on another $7000 to the buy it now price; I'd hate to see him get swindled. Here's a question: does it come with the grime-free M.J. card?
26 and he makes $150k-$250k? What does he do for a living, sell dirty video games? :)
I just messaged the seller myself asking him what toilet he pulled that shit out of

Someone should tell him that all of the "gray ones" were once white and his is (comparatively) super clean and in NEAR MINT condition; making it now worth over $1,000,000,000,000.
Also, rather than screwing himself over like a sucker with FREE shipping (*gasp*) he could save on insertion fees by setting the BIN at $0.99 and charging a paltry $8,000 for media mail.
The one thing I can say for this screwball is at least he's honest about the dirt. Given a piece of filth like that, most sketchy sellers would have taken one blurry picture with super bright flash glare to hide that shit.
The starting bid is now the third highest PC Engine item on ebay, after Darius Alpha and this somewhat less over priced lot:

This is actually his most recent update:
QuoteI INCREASED THE PRICE BACK TO THE ORIGINAL START PRICE OF $880.
BUY IT NOW IS NOW AT $8,880.
YOU MAY CONTACT ME TO END THE AUCTION EARLY IF YOU HAVE A BID. THIS IS PERMITTED BY EBAY.
I will no longer reply to messages regarding this system. Unless you are a Bidder. Shipping is free worldwide, including Japan and Asia.
THANK YOU ALL FOR LOOKING.
The funny part is though that $880 was his original BIN price, and his original "start price" was $280 or so. I'm pretty sure that this guy is completely out of his mind.
lol @ "contact me to end the auction early if you have a bid", what the hell is he doing? What could he possibly be thinking? How could anyone ever rationalize these actions? It's beyond me.
You guys mean I shouldn't buy this? But I just transferred $8,880 into my Paypal account.

Thanks Everyone for driving traffic to my auction. I have not responded because its funny watching you morons make fools of yourselves. Having an ebay auction with 1000 views in a week is the best thing a seller can ask for. F@#$ you Perverts whacking off to my myspce.
Since you all think you know me so well, let me just tell you guys a little bit more, since my whole personal life has now become a joke to all of you petiphiles.
my ebay ID is 1gtsfan
my myspace is /Lfan
My name is Louis Fan
I've been selling shit since 2nd grade. I've sold everything from Pennies, to Million Dollar homes. Luxury Vehicles, Precious metals, car audio, computers, electronics, cookies, brownies, ice cream.
If you haven't looked at any of my other auctions, they are ALL collectibles. Mostly trading cards and rare coins.
Things that are old, should not be cleaned.
I may not be a Video Game EXPERT like all you jack offs, but for me, on electronics shit, if it works, don't fix it. The software alone in my bundle is valued at over $250. The only reason why I listed it at $880 is because I've had this shit since 3rd grade. A gold brick covered in dust is still a gold brick.
My feedback on ebay speaks for itself. the ones who saw my auction and were smart were the ones who started posting their items that they owned for PC engine. Out of all people in the world, i thought i would have the support of a group of people who actually play this pc engine game, and even have enough time to be on a forum.
Kiss my ass, while I laugh my way to the bank.
1gtsfan,
p.s. WESSST SYDEEEE BiaTch!!!
Hey 1gtsfan, sorry you didn't find the forum under better circumstances.
For what it's worth, bitching about over-priced sellers and insanely-high auctions is a regular theme around here and the last piece of gear anyone saw that was that filthy also sparked a lively debate, so your listing wasn't exactly picked out of the blue.
I think your price is completely nuts (although it's gone down again a little) but your point about the myspace pictures is one I'd like to see addressed with the moderators. There have been a few times now where private information has been placed on the forums without consent and we'd probably be better off without letting our discussions get personal.
None of us are experts and feel free to post a "what's this worth" thread if you want in the future.
Things did get a bit wild with the pics and such on this thread, it became personal, fast, with someone who doesn't even sell much PC Engine or TG-16 stuff regularly, haha.
I usually skim the new posts here every so often, I did look at this auction earlier this week, I though, "Wow...... Good luck with that", then moved on.
As vestcunt mentioned, feel free to ask for advice on this stuff here. You're bound to receive some serious comments.
gts1fan, The price is a bit high. For the system, AV Booster, controls in the condition they're in, and the loose cards included, it may be better to set the minimum bid a bit lower. For that price, one could buy a Duo, with probably with the same Hu-cards, in their cases, with manuals.
Nice to see Free shipping worldwide.
I do disagree about old things not being cleaned. Sometimes it helps to make a sale (Old cars, furniture, house, etc). Though if you're not sure how to clean an item, you can always mention it in the description.
Yeah, a gold brick covered in dust is still a gold brick, however values change over time, just look at the price of gold. Many video games tend to depreciate.
Also, if you sold the items seperately, you may be able to pull in more $.

More like crying all the way to the poorhouse. No one's bid on your slimy PCE auction, and you've only got 9 hours to go. Video games are not coins, they are not furniture, they are not cars. They are video games, and collectors of video games like them clean, not looking like they were pulled out of the dumpster.
A lump of shit spray-painted gold is still a lump of shit.
I love how people complain about pics being used (Nintenga, others). You have a Myspace page that is set to public view, on the internet. A chance you take. You don't want people having access to them, either don't post em, or wait you can set em to private where only your friends you approve can see them. Not debating the right/wrong of others posting them, but don't complain if you have them where others can access them openly.
I agree with what nectarsis said. Someone back there (Mr. Fulci?) said he'd like to see the moderators take some action regarding the pictures, however, speaking as a moderator-- anything anyone posts into the public domain on the Internet is fair game once it's out there.
I don't really need to add anything to nectarsis's statement so I'll just reiterate-- if said individual didn't want their pics out there to begin with, they shouldn't have posted them on a public Myspace page designed for public consumption. End of story.

So now that your PC Engine auction didn't sell (even after you returned it to the $288 opening bid) are you going to immediately relist it, or are you going to make an attempt to determine the actual value first?
And ayou going to try to clean it at all, or just reuse the photos you already took?
Just wondering.

I'm going to Clean up the PC Engine, and play it myself. Thats why I didn't Clean it. I may sell some games, I may not. $288 for 51 games, you guys really lost out, someone could have made some money. Devil Crash was at over $30 last time I saw with plenty of bids.
You guys should have been cheering me on, If my system sold for $800, you guys woulda all been a little richer off the games you owned, instead, you devalued your own games.
I'm not going to relist, I'm not selling this for less than the price of a Wii or PS3. Its worth more to me than that. I can wait.
Maybe I'll try selling my Xbox 1 maybe for $995 since its newer....LoL.

No, I didn't mention that. I did say, that it did get personal, fast, with someone who doesn't even sell PCE/TG-16 stuff regularly.
I'm not surprised it didn't sell. I didn't see anything too special with the lot. If it were a Duo, and the games were in cases, with manuals, it may have brought in $280. Even with the visible dirt.
1gts, the games didn't devalue anymore after your auction. If you want to increase the value of the TG-16/PCE stuff, the only thing I can think of at the moment would involve you buying all the PCE stuff on ebay, all the time, and corner the market. It would take some time, hahaha. A few ebay sellers seem to have attempted this at one time or another with TG-16.
1gtsfan, you can can try re-listing this lot, and maybe someone will buy. I once sold Soldier Blade, US TG-16 version, for $200 or so. I expected close to $100 since it still had the box, however 2 bidders really got into it.....
ebay is full of surprises.
I re-listed 15 Games for $288. The System is no longer For Sale.

Well the system and 51 games didn't sell for $288, so surely 15 games will sell for that amount...right?
If that doesn't work, maybe you can get $288 for 5 games! It's a fail-safe strategy!

QuoteI have added an NGC Certified Graded MS 69 (mint state 69) 1/10 Oz .999 fine Gold $5 Eagle to this Auction (1 away from Perfect). Those of you who know what this is know exactly what this is worth. Games are priced at about $10 Each. Plenty of room for multiple bids.
He's pricing them at $10 a pop which totals to $150 and then adding in a NGC Certified Graded MS 69 (mint state 69) 1/10 Oz .999 fine Gold $5 Eagle which is apparently worth $138 and has everything to do with the rest of the lot.......

You know, I figured at first that the coin was probably not really worth anything. That is to say, I thought the value was relatively low compared with the overall package price.
But just now I did a quick search on ebay. That search revealed that the coin might be worth around (or even over) $100 -- although maybe not, I don't know anything about coins. In any case, it seems to me that the overall price
still does not reflect an actual market value.
Now all he has to do is find a person who collects coins
AND PC Engine games, but isn't good at assessing the value of either.
LOL this 1gtsfan is a grand fool. Talking about the filthy cosmetic shape of his system and games as if it's an archaeological unearthing. Let's keep the dirt encrusted on it for further date testing. I love looking at his pictures too- starts my day up bright and fresh with a long hearty laugh looking at this gangster sign throwing mongoloid. Sic' em champ.

I couldn't find any today, but there's at least one seller who regularly lists lots of 10 loose PCE hucards for $30 and those don't exactly go flying off the shelf either.
This is some of the funniest shit ever, seriously. Gold coins and hu-cards. Whats next, when this doesn't sell is he going to add a treasure chest and a playboy to the lot,and knock the game count down to 3 games???
Also,I don't imagine someone who's into selling million dollar homes wasting their time on ebay like this. For that matter coming here, hanging out at West Side Bakery,or deciding to keep a dirty as shit Pc-Engine when they could easily afford better. You really gotta love make-believe,I guess if it worked for Hitler though,it can work for this guy too.

You're pretty close on the coin's value. Unless it's a rare coin (doubtful, else he would've given a better description), it's worth a bit more than spot price, which would be about $80 as of late. Knowing this, his lot has the games valued at $19 each, not $10. To reach his numbers, you'd have to go the most expensive route and buy a uncirculated coin straight from the gub-mint (ha-ha, I slay me).
I repeat, 1gtsfan: good luck with your auctions and smile when you pay the insertion fees. Ebay loves to insert - all day, everyday.

If you are such a great sales man (must be if you sell such high end stuff as you claim), you would know how to properly research prices, and know that no self respecting game collector would buy a dirty ass system (overpriced at that) "beacuse you don't clean stuff like this ruins the value"

I can play that game: check here (http://cgi.ebay.com/1999-5-Gold-Eagle-NGC-Mint-State-MS69_W0QQitemZ160243428180QQihZ006QQcategoryZ39483QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) and here (http://cgi.ebay.com/1999-5-00-Gold-Eagle-Slabbed-MS-69-ICG-1-10-Ounce_W0QQitemZ360057179639QQihZ023QQcategoryZ39470QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) for two similarly graded coins (certified) that sold shipped for less than $100. Any way you slice it, you're not exactly close to an average value of $10 per game.

Did you notice how it's new, sealed, and minty fresh? Your game is not and is consequently worth less.

Neither are in new condition, but they are complete and in great shape. Again, your games are not and will not fetch such prices.

Damn, someone could have made some money...
But never fear, 1gtsfan, you may still be able to hustle those games for some major $$$ moola $$$.
There is another young entrepreneur, after your own fashion, who has recently expressed an interest in purchasing used games: 818-706-2051.
Or, if you've decided to keep the system, another forum member from Germany is always interested in trading games:

For those just tuning in, here's a brief summary of the discussion thus far:

I got some road kill i would like to trade, PM me for offers.
Man I really don't get this guy. If anyone or anything is doing any damage to his ridiculous auction, aside from the price and condition itself, it's him and the actions he chooses to take. We merely mused at his auction, because we and many others found it quite outrageous. There was nothing wrong with that. Then he decides to join pcengine-fx.com and starts to post with the diction of a typical disgruntled 13 year old. The only reason this topic has escalated into ridiculing you, 1gtsfan is because of the actions you choose to partake in. No one that I can recall from the past (correct me if I am wrong) has joined this site with the sole intent of rebuking us, rather immaturely at that, for musing about their ebay auction.
Now suppose I just happened to be someone in the market for some pc-engine games (and now a coin? whatever...) and just happened to have no common sense and wanted to bid on and win this auction, I can guarantee you that your juvenile actions here alone are far more than enough to change my mind.
However I do hope you stick around, because if you are the typical troll most are you will just keep on making a bigger and bigger fool of yourself. It's beyond the point of anyone taking you seriously or legitimately anymore, so keep on trucking. I need more humor in my day anyways.

The line was crossed when my Personal Pictures became a public joke. Your forum has rules (supposedly). But they are worthless because your moderators are haters too. Not only do none of you have the guts to tell me in person but you have to talk shit behind my back. who's the pussy??? by the way i notice the bitches talking shit about me took their own pics down fairly quickly.
Peace,
1gtsfan
Like I stated earlier genius..you can set your myspace profile to PRIVATE. You don't want people to mess with your pics, make em harder to get at. Besides, you dropped the picture bit awhile ago, now you just wanna spam links to your "SWEET DEALS". The mods here are haters of goobers like you that do nothing but talk like a 13yo with some disease that makes em think their a big $ baller.
After I saw the second auction, with the coin, I gathered that PCEFX.com would be 1gtsfan's place for fun, for a few days at least. He is receiving a lot of attention.
1gtsfan, I see Devil's Crush is listed seperate. That may sell.
People on this board quite often rag on the, "Above market value" auctions and generally expensive auctions. 1gtsfan, you're not that much different, other than someone found your pictures.
I think some people told you directly through ebay their thoughts on your $288 auction.
----
Vestcunt, good summary. It's the cliff notes for the thread, hahaha.

Overpriced by lack of knowledge.iggnorance happens. In this case it's pure cockyness. Keep relisting it at your massive overpriced start (or an equally assinine reserve)...Ebay loves ya for it ;)

Wrong. Your personal pictures were posted (by you) in a public forum. I suppose you crossed your own line, if you really want to look at it that way.
QuoteYour forum has rules (supposedly). But they are worthless because your moderators are haters too.
If you'd bothered to read the rules (which I'm sure you haven't), you'd realize that not only is discussing random Turbo-related eBay auctions a completely valid use of this forum, but that you yourself are the primary violator of said rules and regulations. You've violated the rules more times in your two days here than everyone else during the entire tenure of their membership. If you really want to get technical about it:

I could go on with this but my fingers are getting tired of pressing CTRL+C.
The only reason I've allowed you to carry on this long is because you've provided some level of entertainment for us over the past couple days, but I am getting the feeling the fun times are coming to an end. If you have something serious to contribute to the forums (which I highly doubt), you're welcome to stick around and talk. If not, and you choose to continue this ridiculous filibuster against the entire membership base here, I'll be happy to show you the door.
I challenge you to prove me wrong.
I was wondering when the ban hammer was gonna start flashing...
Almost everyone involved in this thread is behaving badly. 1gtsfan broke the rules, but here are a number of regulars here who violate the rules all the time, but their infractions are overlooked because they are regulars. We are such a hypocritical bunch, here.
Sure, I agree that 1gtsfan's PCE-related ebay auctions are largely a joke and his responses to us were anything but appropriate, but this forum did lay it on thick. What happens a number of forum members mock someone and they find out? They usually flame back. Because the intarwebz is the home of polite and reasonable chaps.
I'm getting a little sick of seeing how easily some of you take something like an eBay auction and turn it into some personal hate-fest. Yeah, I've made that mistake before, and I don't intend to make it again. There's nothing wrong with being critical about prices and laughing at stupid auctions, but there's a line and it got crossed here big-time. Yeah, MySpace is pretty public, and he should expect people to easily be able to look there and see his pics and info. But there's still something inappropriate about pulling his pictures just to mock him in a forum. Some people here decided to get really personal about this, which is just wholly inappropriate.

I think the pictures themselves did most of the mocking for me.
