im normally not the kind of guy to go for promoting myself or the things i do in a spot like this.
but from being a buyer/seller of tg stuff i noticed a lot of the same user ids on ebay buying similar things. one of which was stuff like grindcore and experimental music.
anyways getting to the point here. i run a small diy music label: Sludgesicle Records.
www.myspace.com/sludgesiclerecords
if you offend easy please dont go here. but if you like crazy shit then what are you waiting for?
anyways getting on with the point of this post.
as a way to help promote myself i want to give away a couple free tapes to people on here that are interested. im looking for genuine interest not just people wanting a freebie. but i will pay shipping and everything.
but like i just said SERIOUS INTEREST ONLY!!!
post here or send me a pm.
I would def give a good listen. Some of my favorite bands are Slipknot, Stone Sour, Bullet for my Valentine, etc. You get my point. PM me if this is still on going and I will give you my addy. We have a nice local band here of the same calibur and they do an awesome Metal cover of the Fly's got you where I want you.
yep still going on. i will close this thread when its over. so if you can still reply here than its still good.
I don't like the kind that has super-repetitive chords and the "singer" is trying to sound like he is growling or something. Only people who like wrestling would like that stuff... same fake mentality. I like hard rock instead.
I've always been more prone to industrial. The most "heavy metal" band I got into was Ministry. Though, I love Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin - i.e. 70s metal.

ministry. excellent stuff. the very hard edge of industrial, almost metal.
I don't think Ministry has anything to do with industrial music, they sound like a metal band to me. The tag industrial began as the name of a record label, Industrial records. I don't think it was ever meant to be a sound or genre of music.
than what would you classify nine inch nails' pretty hate machine album?

Well, Ministry evolved into a lot of things. The first album was new wave pop, then "pure" industrial, then every album after that guitars became more and more prevalent.
But yeah, music labels are ridiculous for the most part, but it does allow to differentiate between some bands. Though I think industrial sort of came out of bands like Einstürzende Neubauten who would actually use custom instruments that were often made out of scrap metal and construction tools. Industrial was also identified (not always, but most of the time) by affected vocals. Even when Ministry became more guitar heavy they still kept to their industrial roots and they would tour with KMFDM, Skinny Puppy, NIN. I could be wrong, but I don't remember Ministry touring with Metallica. I think the reason for that is because Metallica are a bunch of sissies. lol :P
throbbing gristle. thats on my list of bands i want to check out.
i have heard a lot of good things about them. very classic.
Hard Rock/ Metal Head here-
I try to ignor most of that Poppy/Hip Hop Metal junk like korn, Limp Bizkit, SlipKnot or Linkin Park,

Megadeth, testament, Soilwork, Children of Bodom, Iced Earth, Amorphis, Night Wish, Arch Enemy, Maiden, 'Stones, and Deep Purple....etc etc....
you know.... REAL METAL!

Such a tricky question. Most new non-ironic "metal" is just fucking terrible. I do like (old) Maiden, Helloween, Stratovarius, etc but that Death NuMetal shit that is so popular now days is worse than the cock rock that killed metal in the first place.
And Slipknot can suck it.

hahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahaha.
i call em shitknot.
wife hates that, she likes them. i hate them.
(sorry I deleted my earlier post by accident, I meant to edit something..eh blah..) I used to love metal when I was much younger, grew tired of it when I was around 17.. I used to love Maiden so much, but now..metal and most music in general doesn't do it for me at all.
Maiden is awesome, but i prefer the Paul Di Anno stuff. It's a perfect cross between punk and metal.
I liked all Maidens singers. They all brought something different to the table, lots of people slag off Blaze, but I think he is kick ass. The x factor is a fantastic album, virtual eleven is great aswell. In fact I think I'm going to look up some maiden on you tube.
http://youtu.be/A0d1V5IJtqw Blaze doing a song from the best of the beast album, my first Maiden album! I used to have a kick ass best of the beast tshirt!
So many good memories.. I was pissed when Bruce came back, Bruce came back and all the "fans" came back too. I wish they would have stayed with Blaze.

Wow! I'm so out of the Maiden loop. I had no idea Maiden had another singer "Blaze". I'll have to check this guy's stuff out. But yeah, I like Bruce's Maiden stuff for sure, but Di Anno is just more my cup of tea. :)
Ever read Paul's book?

I have to get a copy of it, this man seems like a true character...

lolmax @ "The Beast is not a book designed for music aficionados who wish to read about the original Iron Maiden singer. It's more of an action adventure story staring a Jack Daniels, cocaine fuelled fighting machine that just happens to be a vocalist in a rock band."
Yeah, that would be a great read. I might get that for my brother for xmas or his bday. That way I can read it too.
anyone even remotely interested in Metallica's new album this fall?
I am curious, but thats about it.... after the travesty that was St. Anger its hard for me to believe that this band can actually create an album I could listen to.....
Good Metallica Albums?
Kill 'em all Thru Justice for All.
The Black Album was .... O K
After that......... SUCK

my opinions exactly. the media promised the st anger travesty was supposed to be like old metallica. which is so was not. didnt even bother with that some kind of monster dvd either. my faith in metallica diminished after the black album. the black album was so-so but load and reload really sealed the deal on metallica losing their testicals.
metallica should have never quit drinking. some people are just meant to be fucked up, metallica is that case.
Load and reload are not bad albums, they just aren't what anyone wants from Metallica. They just seem to have lost the magic, a long time ago.. Can they get it back? Who knows..lets wait until the new album comes back. By the way, whats Jason Newsted up to thesedays? is he still in Voivod?

all someone has to do is force feed james hetfield 2 bottles of jack daniels and everything will right its way.
yeah i think newsted is still doing voivod. i also heard he has some other projects too. i just cant think of them.
The Some Kind of Monster DVD is worth it just to see Dave Mustaine make Lars cry like the little bitch he is!! =D>
otherwise its a crappy little video that shows the members bitching and whining to one another......

lol is this a joke?
Nope, metal is not for me, and music in general..eh I just don't have a love for it like I used to. When I was younger I would nearly buy a new album every week, but some shit happened in my life and I realized that most of the crap I listened to was total junk. I just find most music fake, its quite hard to describe what I mean. I find instrumental music much more honest, whether it be experimental electronics or film music or classical..
Although I do like some groups/songs...

haha. Yeah, that documentary was hilarious. I just kept watching that movie scratching my head in bewilderment. :-k lol

I totally understand what you're saying there r_b. Don't get me wrong, there is good music out there, but it seems to be slim pickins lately. To quote lyrics from a Joel Plaskett song, "The reason I like the instrumentals, is 'cus they haven't got any words."
