Title: TG 16 CD lock switch question
Post by: nbenz on 10/17/2008, 07:33 PM
I have a CD with the base that I just got.  CD player powers up and plays fine, but the lock switch next to the CD player is broken.  The little blue part of the switch broke off.  Anyone know where I could get a new switch or how to bypass it.

Thanks,
Neil

If you're referring to the lock switch that holds the CDROM unit in place, you can open the base up and short the two wires that go to the bottom of the CDROM. That'll put it in "permanently connected" mode. :D I had to do this to mine since the base had a broken connector on the inside at the same area...the lock worked but the wiring to it was shot.

It is the lock switch that holds the CD Unit.  So the wire you are talking about is the red and brown wires that run from where the lock switch is to the bottom of the unit?
