Their main site is down at the moment (being redone).
There has been talk of doing a get together of board members for the MGC next Year. Looking for people who plan on coming to the get together. There are ideas being thrown around at this time...from stuff at the hotel the show is being held at, get togethers at my house, plans in Milwaukee, etc.
This is so interested people can get together plan possible carpooling, etc. Also so we can have a head count for people (food/planwise, etc.).
You can post, or PM me directly for any questions, or ideas :)

I plan on being there also to host a Bomberman tournament for prizes and maybe a couple other drawings for various games! I have priced flights and rooms for 5 days during the dates of the show and the total was 600.00 which includes hotel room rental car and flight. the hotel im looking at is Marriot courtyards in milwaukie they serve free breakfast and have a happy hour in the evening  so come along and join the fun......meet some of the shoutbox compadres but dont call me windancer! LOL
I haven't done a whole lot of planning for the next MGC, but I'll probably be there as usual. A get together would be great, especially considering how easy it is to miss fellow PCEFXers there. I'll have to see if I can attend that later.
Windlancer it's nice to hear that you are coming! It's always nice to see people willing to travel long ways to come :) . I've been in charge of Turbo Fest for the past couple of years and if you want to help with that, you're more than welcome to.
Hey, can you guys let me know what this is about (mainly opinions/impressions)? What kinds of setups are there? Sellers, or only to play? I gotta say I'm pretty curious because I only live about an hour away (just across the Wisconsin/Illinois border), so any info/opinions would be great. Thanks!

It's a classic gaming convention held in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. There are tons of games to play, sellers, speeches, and contests. I've written articles with pictures on my website here (http://www.lazerdorks.org/stunningarticles/index.html) for the past three MGCs.
I've been meaning to ask you where you live in Illinois? I live in the south Chicago subburb of Crete, which you probably haven't heard of. There are quite a few Chicago PCEFXers here and Wisconsiners too.

Cool, I'm pretty sure that I'm going, this sounds awesome....I live in Rockford, directly south from Madison, or west of Chicago-right now I commute between Rockford and Dekalb, where I'm at school (N.I.U.)
So yeah, I'm really close to you guys, I imagine :)

Sounds cool! There is a Hitch in all my plans now though. I was laid off from work this week. My work says its temporary but they have lied to us since they started laying off. So now im gonna have to see where im sitting now. another 10 years down the tubes.
Well, just hang in there and see what happens Wind. Thats been going around alot lately, so Im not surprised. What was it you worked for exactly? Dont remember if you mentioned it before.
Sound like there may be even more interest than the few people I have personally talked to. :) Looks to be shaping up to another great time.
The MGC only keeps getting bigger each year.
Well depending on if my wife has a job or not i plan on going(this would be my 3rd time going)so cross your fingers for me gang. :D

Was that b intentional? It's kind of driving me crazy, since the b and n are next to each other.
yes.
My store will be there, but sadly I will not.
I will be there again (as usual.) We'll be setup in the museum area with the other guys and gals from VGEVO. I'm not sure of many more details yet though, but I figured that I'd stop by here and see if anyone was making plans yet
I'm on a Turbo-Kick lately, so I'm pretty stoked for the show this year!
I'm so there!
Anyone want to sell me a turbo at the show?
cheap?
please?
lol
what happened to yours?
um, lol- I sold my entire video game collection at last years show.
Its a long story......
D: [-(
Although I am not near the midwest, I have wanted to go to something like this since I was in the Nintendo World Championship in 1990. I think a Road Trip is in order!
I'd love to go, but I'm on the NWCGE board, and regardless of the fun involved, running one convention a year is enough. It's a lot of work!
Still, if I end up heading out that way, I might be able to make it. We'll see.
Less than 2 months to go. Sounds like we have a # of members here are coming up
Hotel booked-

We're coming!
I am pretty stoked for MGC this year!
I have been playing the hell out of my Turbo lately, and I just found Fatal Fury II and World Heroes 2 for around $17 each down at a small shop in Chicago. I can't wait to have my wallet drained by the vendors at MGC again this year

For my wallet's sake, I better not be able to find everything I'm looking out for!
Don't count on it at all, but I'm trying to convince John Brandstetter into attending MGC this year. He's pretty busy right now though, so like I said, don't count on it :(

Dude I would do anything to get John Brandstetter to come! How were you even able to contact him? I think I tried emailing him back in 2004/2005 but got no response.
And yeah, blaming Johnny Turbo for the Duo's destruction is stupid. I see the Johnny Turbo ads as a farewell joke more than anything else.
A laughing smiley obviously denotes a joke, but it looks like a couple of tools have their panties bunched a bit too tightly to laugh. Be sure you get your heads out of the way before my boot arrives.

Yeah I'll most definitely be there. I should probably order my tickets online since you can save five bucks that way. There is another LaZer Dork from Iowa who is coming (Mr_Person).
Less than 3 weeks!!!!
Tee hee!!!
well wish i could go! Since I got a new addition to the family I can't take more time off to attend. You guys have fun and someone grab me some freebie stuff!
So is there going to be a TurboFest this year?
There technically is going to be one, but it's just gonna be a set up of a Turbo Duo, Super Grafx, PC-FX, and maybe something else and I think will just sort of be merged with the other systems in the museum area. I think it will be like how it was before 2007.
i would like to join so bad
You probably have far bigger and more hardcore convention stuff in Japan.

Excellent, I've never had a chance to try out a PC-FX before.
So we should all meet up at the Turbo area at some point -- maybe play some Bomberman or a little high score competition in one of the shooters.

unfortunatelly we only have those exobitions (TGS, AOU etc). but nothing for freaks and otakus, where you can bring your own stuff to play, trade & sell. the very best game nights of my life i had back in time in my very lil' country :P
Well, if it comes out by the time that MGC happens, we're gonna setup Bomberman Ultra on a pretty big screen for some 7-player action
I nearly had a heart-attack today when I realized that not just one, but TWO of my customers at work are doing upgrades the weekend of MGC. Even though it'll be a lot of work, I'm relieved they're both on Sunday. I can still go to MGC on Saturday!
I was just thinking, all of us PCEFX nerds should meet up at some place and time within the MGC area. Like maybe 3pm on Saturday at wherever the Turbo systems are in the museum area.

Well, we're doing our live Podcast in the museum area starting at 3 on Saturday. I'll be at the VGEVO booth a lot, so I'm sure that I'll be sneaking over to the Turbo stuff every now and then :-"

I'll probably be good with anytime, so if you or anyone else has a preferred time, please post.
I'll have to play times by ear unfortunately, as I have no idea how much of my time people are gonna want etc. Hopefully I'll get a better understanding of the plans and expectations on Friday when we're setting-up.
money sucks,
I'm not going.

:(
Wish i could go,but like i said money and time neither wich i have.Though i gave nect a shopping list all ready
take lots of pics for those of us that can't make it!
If I had known this many pcengine-fx.com people were going, I would have sent more NEC stuff. :( There's always next year I guess!
I warned ya ;)
Looks like it may be tight $ wise, I but I still plan on making the trip :)
If only it was a few weeks later..
But be sure to see the "Famicom Dojo" panel that SeanOrange will be doing.
Alright guys, MGC is tomorrow! Are we still all up for the get together at 3pm on Saturday at the Turbo area?

Wish i was going this year but maybe next year. :(
3pm! watch... synchronized!
have a blast guys, and seriously take tons of photos even if they are on your camera phone. I think I will try to make it next year. For me it isn't the funds as much as bad timing.
3:30 and no sign of anyone... ](*,)
edit: met nectarsis, but that was it. 8-[
was Turbo Fest even set up?
There was a Supergrafx & PCFX, but no Duo/PCE/TG anything ?!?!?
the duo showed up later; the guy setting it up said the power adapter had broke.
Sounds like a lackluster turnout compared to years past.

Unfortunately things crumbled for me at the last minute and couldn't make it :( :( :( . The person I had coming with me to help with directions backed out and I became exhausted from spending the night digging my fat dog out from underneath a gazebo, as crazy as that sounds. Really, really was hoping to make it this year. Sorry to anyone who was depending on me for something (DHG for setting up my PCE, Nectarsis for buying his SNES, Guyjin for a game of Shadowrun). I will make sure no such things get in the way next year.
Lol, def not a prob bro. You were def missed ;)

Ooh, who was selling that?
The Turbo wasn't set up until the second day because the AC port on the back of the system was loose, but luckily with Ben Heck there with his group, they were able to find someone with the screw driver head late Saturday and fix it up good as new. As for why the PC Engine wasn't there... Well, you know that story already. ;)

Yay, can we get a place with a separate room for the speakers instead of having them in the hallway?
