I was hoping by "Turboduo -R", you literally meant a white painted Turbo Duo :P . It's been done before!

Nice one, though that controller looks like it could use a little cleaning and/or bleaching.

Yeah, it could use a cleaning.  You are getting that NEC Ave pad with it as well.

What's a good way to clean it without destroying the plastic on it?  Disassemble and put the casing in the dishwasher at low heat?

Yeah I can't wait for the avenue pad - now I just got to get some games for it.

Cool link.  So how hard is it to take apart the R if I want to bleach that too..  I for sure am bleaching the controller.

OS - it isn't hard to take apart if you can get around the "special" screws. I used a small jewelers flathead, the middle pin in the star screw helped me leverage the flathead. After that there will be some screws holding down the PCB. I have only opened mine up, not taking completely out of the casing but I am sure it is straightforward.

Sounds like it has security screws.  I have a security bit set at work I can bring home if needed, that should make things easier.  I might just bleach the top of the system see how that goes, that way I don't have to remove the PCB or anything.

So the bleach does not bleach out any colored graphics on the system/controller?  Interesting.

they are security screws with a twist - they have little pins in the middle. You can break them and use a star bit, but like I said a small jewelers flathead will work if you leave in the middle pin.

When it doesnt have the middle pin it is called a torx screw.  When it has the middle pin it is called a security screw (that's what we call them in the shop anyways, oftentimes air flow sensors use these types of screws, another name for them are tamper proof screws).  I actually have a bit set that's like torx bits, but with a hole in the middle, made specifically for this.  Shouldnt be an issue taking it all apart.  I will try to post before and after pics of the system/controller cleanings when the console arrives....

Can I get this security bit at Harbor Freight or something? I haven't looked for that, I already have the security bit for the Duo.

You can indeed.  This (http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=91310) is the set that I have; it has all sorts of bits in both standard and security styles.

Holy Crap, 5 bucks?  I spent over 100 on my set, they are 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 drive though so you can hook them up to a ratchet, and have a lifetime warranty, but damn.

OK, the system has arrived, and everything works well so far!  I got more than I bargained for!  Had a few suprises thrown in as well.

The stuff was packaged very well!

Getting Closer!!

OMGz!!!  It's so Beautiful!!
/duorfo8.jpg

Check this out!  This was totally unexpected!!  Sensei also tossed in SFII, Space Harrier, AND an AVE Pad!  Extras ROCK!!!  Thanks Sensei!

/duorincludedstuffjn3.jpg

After owning ONLY loose HUCARDS, it's nice to have something complete!

/duorincludedstuff2gj9.jpg

But that's not ALL FOLKS!  So I open up the Hucard slot on the Duo, and look what's inserted, suprise!  Son Son II!!
/sonson2ya5.jpg

So basically, I got the Duo R w/controller, AV, AC, an extra Avenue Pad, Street Fighter II, Son Son II, and Space Harrier all for $200.. ... . . SHIPPED.  I "think" that's a good deal right?
Already tested everything, it works well!  Good sound, picture, no strange noise or access problems or anything.
Now time to try bleaching the pad and console (console looks pretty good already though).

Ditto, thanks to Necromancer's tip off a year or so back, I also picked up this great set from the Harbor Freight just around the corner from me. The bits all seem to be high-quality, too.

Not to shit on Sensei's magnanimous gift, but SFII isn't complete (it originally came with a double disc case, a spine card, etc.).
