Title: WTT: Looking For TG-16 CD or PCE CD
Post by: mobiusclimber on 11/15/2008, 02:11 AM
I have a busted TG-16 CD and a working docking station. My friend is addicted to Akumajou Dracula X. Since I recently sold him a TG-16, I'd like to get him a CD to go with it so he can play Dracula X whenever he wants. So...

I'd like to trade for either a TG-16 CD or PCE CD, as I understand either one will work w/ the TG-16 docking station, right? You can check my auctions at gamegavel.com in the other thread. Should go w/o saying that I only want the CD system, no docking station, no briefcase, no TG-16/PCE (unless you're willing to make me a helluva deal). I'm hoping this isn't incredibly expensive (I've seen just the CD system sell for around $50-60 on FeePay), but let me know what you want and I'll see if we have a deal or not. :)

Please. Please please please. I'm trying to get my friend hooked up with this wonderful system. He was talking about selling the TG-16 I sold him because he wasn't sure if there were games on it he'd want to play. I know there are plenty of Hu-Card games he doesn't have that he'd enjoy, but I also know he'd get a lot more enjoyment out of the CD side of things. (And lets face it, if you could only choose one, which would you choose?)

I know someone on here's gotta have one lying around and would like some of the stuff I have listed on auction. If not, maybe there's someone on here that would trade working on the broken CD system for some games? I know, that's an even longer shot, but thought I'd throw it out there. I'm a bit desperate to get him this, but if no one has one for trade, I'll just keep my eye on FeePay. (Someone seriously lucked out last week--when I was totally broke--and walked off with a PCE/CD briefcase model for like $20 or $25 shipped.)

That's funny because I was considering asking you what you'd charge to fix it. :D

There's two problems: 1) there's a loose wire that is causing it to not power on anymore, just needs to be soldering back in place; 2) when it WAS powering on, the cd wouldn't spin. I don't know why the CD wouldn't spin, it could detect that something was in the drive, and would even tell if it was a music cd or a game (by displaying in the led readout), but otherwise, nothing would happen. So I'm not really sure what the problem with it was/is.

Remember, you don't JUST need a CD add on to play Dracula X, it's a Super CD so you need system card 3.0

Yeah, I think the system card that came w/ the busted tg cd is 2.0. I was thinking about getting an arcade card for myself and giving him my 3.0, but I remembered that it wouldn't be compatible b/c I have a PCE and he has a TG-16 so... I'll have to figure something out on that front.
