Well, I just got a e-newsletter from www.lifehacker.com that focused on the various upgrades/mods you can make to various media and consoles. It seems Wii owners will now be able to unlock the DVD playback capabilities of the Wii. And the best part is that it's a softmod. =D>

Some would rather keep things simple and have one box for everything, rather than have a bunch of boxes with a wire knot accompaniment.

This is actually a little out of date. There was a firmware upgrade that broke this. Other homebrew still seems to work, though.

Hehe.
Skip DVD support, just install GeeX Box on your Wii Homebrew Channel ;) . I hook up my external hard drive to it so I can watch movies straight from there (and in good quality too). I recommend every Wii owner install the Homebrew Channel.

That's pretty damn cool.
hmmmm......my PS3 can do that out of the box...but maybe that is why it cost me more than the Wii....\
I would like to install homebrew channel at some point.
