Looking for peeps, that are into collecting the PCE game guides, Dengeki PC Engine mags, etc. Where do you get them (preferably outside of japan). ;)
Ebay has a few, but either high prices, or even worse shipping.
i collect those with mook cds :)
get them from teh stores :)
What are mook CDs?
Quote"Mook" CDs ??
Tatsujin and I get them inside of Japan, so we can't comment. Sorry...
Just in case you're interested, there are a few rare/unreleased PCE screenshots on the pages that I've set up here: https://www.chrismcovell.com/secret.html
"Mook" means "magazine-book" in weirdo Japan. I guess it means a book that has colour and/or glossy pages. There's also "vook" which counts Aoi Blink among them...
yeah :)
some of my complete/minty buys:

Nectarsis I collect guide books but haven't been buying lately. I only have a handful of PC Engine guidebooks, among them Record of Lodoss War. I really went wild for a while collecting guidebooks for various KOEI strategy games and also detective text adventures for Famicom and Famicom Disk.
Guidebooks for old KOEI games seem to rarely be sold on ebay. I got just about all of my guidebooks from Toshi by asking him through email if he had them. He was able to track down most of what I asked for at about 15-20 dollars each.
I can't get enough of PC Engine books, mags, flyers, etc. I get most of them nowadays from eBay. They don't show up often, most are horribly titled and they're usually expensive. But I still find myself picking them up steadily.
Dave sent me some duplicates of his PC-Engine mags. He also sent me some PCE game guides :D I love looking through those.
I do have many japanese PCE flyers, magazines, and guide books.
If you're interested i have like 20 PC Engine Fan or Dengeki PC Engine issues for sale..around $10 a piece (us$ rate is awful those days)
if only this site was around when the pc engine was still flying off the shelves..
I had a few years build up of those japanese mags (bought from a chain here in london called Japan centre and also some independant game stores) but I threw them away when I switched to the SNES/Saturn/psx
