japanese bacon is great. not that conserved junk above (that's just ok to fry), but the real deal :)
I just noticed the bacon..
Most bacon nowaday they inject brine water into it to bulk it up and when you fry it it comes out like a yellowy white goo and the bacon shrinks... >.>
was that just for you? thats a lotta egg for 1 person :o
personally I would sit that ontop of any kind of noodle/ramen or rice
my favorite bit is that the yolks are intact- not scrambled up. I love breaking into runny yolks with a toasted buttered bagel =P~
"Cooking with Tats" should be a weekly feature here.

I am a bagel fanatic - was in NYC a little while back with me girl and I think I stopped at every bagel cart on the whole of Manhattan.
Ahhh I live in NY and work in Manhattan and I can tell you the bagels from the carts can't lay a finger on the bagels in the delis! The ones from the carts usually have these small circular bumps on the bottoms- some kind of factory pressing- the cart guys are likely the first humans to touch them when they butter them whereas the bagelries make 'em fresh on premises. :o Especially where I live in Queens- the Jewish and Italian bagel places are among the best in the world. :) Incredible bagels, pizza, delis, Chinese, sushi, Italian food- I lack for none of this- a truly great thing.
Yup, deli bagels are certainly the best - but compared to the stale round bread they try and pass off here as bagels, cart bagels are still fantastic! I wish I could get bagels of even half the quality here.

Yup. If you want the best bagels either NYC or Montreal is where you go. Montrealers and New Yorkers can argue which is better, but you'll never go wrong with either. I won't touch a bagel that isn't NYC or Montreal style. Not fit humans those impostor bagels. The way I see it, if you can't just bite into a bagel and eat it plain and uncut, then it's not a bagel I want to have any association with.
Here's a low down on the difference between the two, but the Montreal bagel is smaller, sweeter and denser:

All this bagel talk....must....buy....bagels.... =P~
Those sound delish Ceti. Reading up on it now it appears that the Montreal bagel is one of the two best known- the other being the New York bagel. Do you have bialies in Montreal too?
Hey - anyone wanna overnight me a dozen of those suckers...

From my intensive 45 second search it seems like Bialies are little known outside of NYC. But next time I'm down there I'll be making sure to try them. They sound like they're most yummy. Surely better than my Dempster's raisin bread toast I'm eating right now. lol
Lol. You and that Dumpster's trash. :P

I would make it with some yummy slices of center cut cured smoked pork loin,
no Fat, no oozing yellow shit, no shrinkage
