Title: Fighting Street SUCKS
Post by: oldskool on 04/09/2009, 04:33 PM
This area of the website is useless.  Why should the NEC community degrade itself like this?  We are better than this!  Why should we stoop down to the level of the rest of the Internet.  The NEC community will falter if we continue this path.  This is the first and last post for me in Fighting Street.

I agree however there are a few interesting topics that have popped up in here such as the cola wars, the God thread, the PCE Clear thread and a couple of others.

The only part of it that sucks is it being utilized for no reason.  I'd much rather that it was only used as a place to bitch or for parking threads that have denigrated into flame wars.

Those unable to follow the rules and initiate threads in the proper forum should receive twenty lashes with a wet noodle and be forced to play Deep Blue.

Necro is right; it is just an un-moderated chit-chat. He is also right about deep blue sucking ass!

I've been having fun with it, so that's my reason. Does that mean that I'm in violation of the Fighting Street rules, since I havent been ranting or raving, or working out beefs?

That is its stated purpose, so if you started the thread, then I suppose so.  Wouldn't it be better for the 'normal' threads to appear in a more appropriate location?  Especially now, since they won't appear in unread posts and many members will consequently miss the good ones.

well Ill talk about the game.  I dont really think it sucks and it has history of being the first tgcd game and first street fighter and all that but doing special moves suck as wee all know.  I saw some guy on you tube actually execute every special move perfectly but it was this weird timing thing.   Well I tried ther way he did and after a half hour of trying to get it down I threw my own fireball at the tv and called it qiuts

Holy fucking shit new guy.  This thread isn't about the game Fighting Street, it's about the forum Fighting Street.  It was put here for bitching/yelling/name calling and just generally pissing people the fuck off.  Now read the thread before you put a post completely off topic from what its talking about!  Now use it correctly asshat!

P.S.  Welcome to Fighting Street!

The arcade version functions differently than the Turbo CD / PC-Engine version. It's not difficult to do specials if you're playing on a 6-button arcade cabinet or on a better port, such as Capcom Classics Collection vol. 2 on PS2 - in which case you perform moves by holding your button, doing the special move motion on the controller, then releasing the button as you finish the motion. You can use the same technique in Street Fighter 2 (buffering moves) but only for special techniques.

In the original 6-button street fighter 1, all moves, specials and normals, are performed by releasing the appropriate button, not by pressing.

Hey Roy! Maybe someone should take a picture of themselves trying to punch a city street and call that Fighting Street.

I used to rock the real arcade game and beat it with one quarter but pulling Shoryukens nonstop.  but on TG/PCE it is impossible to pull that so I just do the Hurrican kick all the time but big bad asses like Birdie would slam me to the ground as would Gedon.

the game doesn't suck, it's worth collecting as the 1st CD game and for history purposes.  espcailly if you played the original arcade.

I'm not trying to start any forum drama or anything here, but we really need to figure out what exactly the point of this "fighting street" forum is.  I think if anything this should be a place where threads in other places that turn into flame wars get put.  It would be like the Gouging much thread.  When that turned into the cluster fuck that it was.  A mod should have came in and said "Hey if this doesn't get back on topic, we're moving it to fighting street" DONE.  Then in 24 hours if shit hasn't cleared up, boom it goes to fighting street.  Where any and all participants can go on flaming or whatever.  I think having a Fighting street forum where mods are locking threads and calling people whining asswipes is stupid.  I get it, mods have tempers, or boiling points too... but what gives?

bah,

yeah and only members can see it so its not like the general public (digitpress) is pushed away by its happenings.

Whenever shit hits the fan in the regular threads, why not just redirect the thread with a link in the regular thread to a new thread in fighting street?  This way the original thread can live on to be whatever, and shit continues on in a new fighting street thread.  After the redirect link shows up, any more flame posts in the original thread just gets deleted without warning.

...or maybe that's just too much work.  Whatever.
