I scored a tg16 lot and when I opened up I found four games with a sticker on the clear part of the case that says Promotional Item not for individual resale. At first I though whatever, but then I got to thinking, the colors of the stickers are dead on for tg16. So I investigated more and I found 5 games with some kind of serial number on the back of the hucard, very small, all start with letter A then have 5 numbers after it, i.e. A90921. If you're looking at the back of the card, these embossed numbers are just left of the pull arrow and under the patent text. What I need to know is if the serial number appears on hucards that aren't promo or whatever. Also, has these ever popped up before? I'll upload a pic later.
It sounds like maybe promotional stuff from old Turbo related contests and give aways
I know I have seen this sort of thing in other things like DVDs and CDs...
Does the "not for resale" warning even apply for online auctions? :?:

Even if it did, fuck 'em.
They might've just been pack-ins.

I've tried a couple times but it keeps saying the upload folder is full, try a smaller file, but its only 42KB... Has anyone looked at their hucards to see if any of them have that embossed serial number?
use Image Shack or so :)

My memory's a bit hazy, but I think I've seen some before. I'll inspect mine when I get home tonight (if I remember).

Genius... /007quv.jpg
On the image I wanted to upload I had a red elipse around the area where the serial number is found, but its lower left.
still looks like something from a give-away to promote the US launch of the TG
Could that be the Turbo Express mail in free games (up to 5)? I never did it but wouldn't be surprised if that is how they marked the games.

Just got a bunch of loose games in and a bunch of them have the embossed numbers, so its not just a promo thing appearantly.
I've seen those before and am pretty sure I've had some. I think that I just threw away the stickered cases though. :P
I checked all of my HuCards last night, and about a third of 'em had 'serial' numbers. The titles that share numbers (
Dungeon Explorer/Power Golf and
China Warrior/Vigilante) were double checked to ensure that they weren't misread.

Numberless Titles:
Air Zonk, Andre Panza Kick Boxing, Arcade Card Duo, Arcade Card Pro, Ballistix, Battle Royale, Bloody Wolf, Bomberman '93, Bomberman '94, Bonk 3, Bonk's Adventure, Bravoman, Cadash, Cyber-Core, Darkwing Duck, Dead Moon, Dodge Danpei, Double Dungeons, Drop Off, Falcon, Gunboat, Hatris, Hit the Ice, Impossamole, King of Casino, Klax, Ninja Spirit, Order of the Griffon, Populous, Racing Spirits, Silent Debuggers, Skweek, Soldier Blade, Somer Assault, Sonic Spike, Splatterhouse, Street Fighter II, Super Star Soldier, Talespin, Tennokoe Bank, Time Cruise, Tricky Kick, TV Sports Basketball, TV Sports Football, TV Sports Hockey, Momo Tarou Katsu Geki, Momo Tarou Densetsu II, World Sports Competition, and
Yo' Bro.
All titles listed are US versions, except as noted and those that never had a domestic release. I don't recognize any patterns that explain why some titles were branded and some weren't, but it's curious that the Japanese version of
Double Dungeons has a number when the US version does not.

Exactly. Who are the game companies to say what we can and cannot do with our games and systems.
