I have always wanted to hear a comparison between early "High Definition" Genesis models versus later ones. The day is here my friends. You might want to turn your volume down a bit, it's a little loud.

I can hear a BIG difference.

Now, that was pretty interesting. I would like to see some more people do the same comparison, just to corroborate the findings, but I agree: the difference in sound quality was immediately obvious.
Also, this fellow should have included at least one more comparison (from a different game and developer) to see if this is unique to Road Rash / EA.
Nonetheless, this is neat.
Even though I thought it was funny most of you didn't like my last video thread, so I thought I'd make up for it with this one.
That dude is real cool so I am sure if more people bug him about comparing different games he'd gladly do it.
The early High Definition model Genesis had a different, more expensive sound chip inside. At least in urban myth anyway.

Yeah, the early model 1s (and some model 2s, I believe) had a real YM2612 chip, whereas later models had it integrated with the VDP.
