Was bored this afternoon and decided to do a quick re-creation of the original PCE promo photograph. If anyone would like wallpaper versions of this image (without the original image) please reply in this thread with the size you want. Enjoy.

What are you using for the "background"? What is your camera setup again? I recently bought a DSLR and it is my goal to defeat you! :)
Very cool dude! Can I get a wallpaper version in 1280x1024?
1280x800 would be wonderful! Nice Job BTW!
To bad they didn't originally have the longer cord...

The background should have been just a white matte material, but I got away with using a 2'x2' reflective piece of fiberglass. My camera setup is as follows:
Canon 5D Mark II: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/583987-REG/Canon_2764B004_EOS_5D_Mark_II.html
Canon 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/264304-USA/Canon_8014A002_Zoom_Wide_Angle_Telephoto_EF.html
Canon 580EX II Speedlite Flash: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/486706-USA/Canon_1946B002_580EX_II_Flash.html
Canon ST-E2 Transmitter: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/164264-REG/Canon_2478A002_ST_E2_Transmitter.html
Interfit STR103 Strobies Globe Diffuser: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/621592-REG/Interfit_STR103_STR103_Strobies_Globe_Diffuser.html
Pretty much just set up the console as close as I could to the original photograph but the part that took the most time was matching the shadow density & angle. It's 99% there but I think my shadow has just slightly too much downward angle and my camera position could have been lowered slightly as well.
Did you use the flash for that or did you light it or both? Your camera is sweet. I don't know what I'd do without that Live View mode. I notice you have a transmitter, but you didn't link to any external lights.
The transmitter triggers the flash which was to the top left of the frame (and I only used the 580EX II for lighting).
Live View is nice, but only when shooting in video mode. For shooting stills, it's really useless.
Nah, I can get much better focus using Live View over the viewfinder since it lets you zoom in 5x or 10x and really nail it. Unless you use auto focus, but my camera lives on "M". It is useless for "on the fly" photography when you are out and about, though.
Yah that's what I meant - for on the fly photography just can't be used. I'm also finding that live view takes WAY too long to focus even on a controlled shoot, plus I don't need to use it anyway that much at least for focus as the Canon ST-E2 Transmitter acts as an auto-focus assist.
It does??? There is no delay in updating the screen. Then again I adjust the focus ring myself in controlled shoots.
Aaron, that is a damn fine photo. I friggin' love it.
I'll take a 1280x854, if you would be so kind :)
Also:
Can I ask the source of the original photo?
NEC took the original photo - it's the photo that has been around the net for decades and was one of the first promo photos of the PCE when it was released.

Thanks for the pics...Love the way it looks on my laptop! When I open the door to walk into my room, my eyes meet with the background, It almost throws me into a trance! hehe
Now all we need is a screensaver of random games being played! Preferably awesome shooters!
Very nice, Mr. Nanto. You've certainly improved upon the original, particularly in making the reds really pop and in lighting the front of the PCE enough to show detail (it's hard to tell what color the power switch is in the original). =D>

I also found this one, but I'm sure that there was a much bigger one;

I also wonder about a Turbografx+Booster wallpaper that I found here but can't remember where anymore.

You talking about the one found on my TurboMemoirs site?
https://www.pcengine-fx.com/TM/turbo_memoirs_-_studio_gallery.html
Nope Aaron it was against a brick background, it might be even in an outdoor setting but I really don't remember much.
