In lieu of recent tragedies, I decided this thread is appropriate. Plus every other forum has one, so why dont we!
whats everyones favorite episode

im partial to the battletoads one because of the funny exchanges between the nerd and the guy behind the couch.
and the disastrous 2 player nonsense, which is entirely correct as far as sucking is concerned.
Contra didn't stop you if your partner ran out of lives!!!
i don't love him, that's just gay. but i like and appreesh his work very much. he's unique in his kind of doings and those who take him and his cheeky mouth serious for just one second, are retarded mongos themself.
go and read his own disclaimer on his cinemassacre page. may you will understand better afterwards. may be also not.
I like AVGN, but I will always cringe when his schtick (i.e. vulgarity) comes across as contrived/forced. I thoroughly enjoy his stuff, though.
The Wizard/SMB3 and the Back to the Future episodes are my two favorites.

I LOVE THE POWER GLOVE.
ITS SO BAD.
I enjoy his mock rage, and though they're still good for a laugh, the last few episodes seem like he's been phoning it in.

I thought the recent Street Fighter 2010 episode was the funniest in a while. His review of Fighting Street was unexpected and very funny. Was kinda disappointed with the Christmas special though.
I've always liked his videos, but I don't think him or his Cinemassacre projects have much of a future outside of AVGN. If you've ever seen any of his non-AVGN material, then you'll see what I mean.
I think he is usually entertaining. But he does too many "theme" shows. For 2010 he does Street Fighter 2010. For a new Terminator movie release he'll review Terminator games. The list goes on and on and on. It seems he'll ONLY do an episode if he can theme it around something current rather that just to review a game for the sake of the game itself. It's like he looks at his calendar and says "Hmmm, what holiday is coming up? What game matches that holiday? Hmmmmm..." or "What new movie is coming out that people are talking about and does it have games based on it?"
His non AVGN is usually fairly interesting but he seems to usually be kind of unenthusiastic about it, sounding as if he really needs some sleep.
Atari porn was the best, but with that material, how could it not have been? Same goes for the Bible games.

I just watched that episode, it was great, for the reasons you stated. It was neat to develop the "guitar guy" character.

I haven't watched that one yet; the last one I saw was the
Winter Games comparison. I keep falling behind since they won't let me download the videos for later enjoyment anymore (without registering, which is for suckers).
I like the Board James vids.
Otherwise I think the recent Street Fighter 2010 was one of his best in about a year.

Ha, totally forgot about this. Can't believe discussing AVGN really scared off ol' Mikey.
Lol.
it didnt scare him off, it made him lash out like a loony bin escapee.
In the Street Fighter 2010 video, the Nerd says clearly that TurboGrafx games didn't come on cartridges, but rather on cards! =D> =D> =D>
I always make that distinction myself. I cannot stand it when they are called "cartridges" or "carts".
