What was the exchange rate back then?
good question... i googled it.... she was high around the end of the year!!! http://www.federalreserve.gov/RELEASES/H10/Hist/dat89_ca.htm
Fuzzy memory but exchanges rate floated around 1CDN$ => 0.60 to 0.75$US.
Were any of those scans from "Consumer's Distributing" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Consumers_Distributing )? I used to to work at a branch during the TG-16/Sega Genesis era. :P
hahahaha.. yes i think one of the genny ones were.
That is where i got my SMS actually, even though they sold me a broken one :P
QuoteMake TurboGrafx-16 an essential part of your television schedule.

I bought a TG-16 there using my discount. (Err... but I bought it in order to trade for an Amiga. :P) Sorry, at the time I wasn't much into the TG-16 until the TurboDuo came out.
I did buy a Sega Master System as well (was debating over the SMS or Genny, but I went with SMS since I could afford to buy games with the system.) :P
Only $67.99 in one ad and 89.95 in another ad for Power Golf, sign me up! :?
Look at the booster price. It still sells for that when it's boxed.
Thanks for sharing Sparky.
Don't you remember the Kids in the Hall? FIVE AMERICAN, SIX CANADIAN! FIVE AMERICAN, SIX CANADIAN.
North Mexico has some great comedians...

Thanks for the scans, I love stuff like this.
Did you scan these?
Is it possible to scan the TG-16 ads at a higher res? (Say, at 300 dpi?)
I'd love to add the scans to my site.
ya man i scanned these in, actually awhile ago but just found the folder i put them in :P
i think the original is scanned quite high, there at work and i will check and hook you up :)

Awesome. I'll take raw files (even if they are huge), if possible :)
Yay!
