Title: Question about Valis II

Yo !

Could someone check something up for me on the American version of Valis II ? I remember that the manual tells a slightly different story than the Japanese version. I remember them saying that Megas (the baddie in V2) killed Rogles (The baddie in V1) - which is not the case in the Japanese version, Yuko did. Anyway, I'm updating some information on my site and I wanted to confirm that before going ahead. I remember reading that a long time ago at a friend's house (he had the TG16 version) but I'm not really sure anymore that this was exactely what I read...

Unfortunately my Valis II didn't come with the manual. :|

I'm curious to hear about this, though.

It just says that Rogress was a kind and generous king who died and the people of
Vecanti mourned him. Then Magas' "evil" army shows up and clears out the last of the Rogress forces.

Damn ! I must have dreamt it then ! I looked at the game's introduction sequence and they don't mention anything about this... Where did I read this ? oh well... thanks for the info guys :)

I've actually found the Valis 2 manual scans I did a couple of years ago - and the story told there was indeed altered. They don't explicitly say that Megas killed Rogles, but they picture Rogles as a kind king. Actually he was the bad guy in Valis and killed by Yuko. They also picture Reiko as a "friendly ghost" and don't say anything about the events from the first Valis, and how Yuko had to kill her best friend. I guess Valis I never came out in the US so they tried to accommodate the story or something. I've updated my review page (here (http://www.videogameden.com/cdrom.htm?va2)) and also copied the story from the TG16's manual.
