anyone else get little air bubbles around the buttons of their Duo controller? its kind of like a clear plastic film that is overlayed on the controller decal.

I took the plastic covering off one of my controllers since it was peeling. The other controller still has the plastic intact.

You're supposed to take that plastic film off anyways. Its only purpose is to protect the finish during shipping.

Yes, but I recommend that folks keep the protective film on for as long as possible: it really keeps the controller in great shape (no greasy fingerprints!) and doesn't adversely affect gameplay...

I have this stuff on my controllers too. It never occurred to me that I could take it off but I suppose i'll leave it on there for now.

I'm not saying you should do it, but I loved the way mine looked when I took it off.

Yeah I admit it does look even nicer when it's off, especially if you have the air bubbles problem. But I am trying to keep my other Duo controller intact in the plastic.

ok, i had to take mine off; due to intense vampire slaying the plastic really started coming up around the d-pad. however, i removed it carefully and tucked it away nicely in my duo manual baggie.  :lol:

Next time you see it it will be a little wad of plastic.

nope, hopefully not; i flattened it under some books for a few hours before i put it in the baggie.   :wink:

I tried to follow steve's advice and leave the plastic on mine but I broke down and took it off and it looks a lot better now. I saved the piece of plastic too though i'll probably lose it eventually.

I believe I saved my plastic also, but I have no idea where I put it, really. I think it may be in my Turbo Duo box.

Well, I don't think it's necessary to save the plastic film once you remove it... it's held in place with static electricity and can't be re-applied to the controller.

steve, what you have to understand is some collectors have serious "issues".   :shock:

i also save EVERY "factory seal" sticker on every dvd, ps2, xbox, or whatever i buy. after peeling off the shrink wrap, i place the plastic on a flat surface, and slowly re-stick the "factory seal" to it. then i take scissors and cut along the side of the seal, so that I have a perfect, not sticky sticker. then it must be inserted under the top manual clip in the dvd case.

and yes, i do think complete game auctions should include the seal sticker  especially PS2 games.

You mean that annoying sticker that goes over the top, or in the case of some dvds, the top/bottom/side?  Holy crap you're crazy man, haha.

If a game was manufactured with a sticker on it like that, I myself would probably keep it on. But sticker crap that the store puts on it I rip right off. I try not to be one of those collectors with serious issues and some people think I am even crazy for wanting games to be mostly complete.

yeah, i mean like the factory sticker on top. on a PS2 it will be white, with the holographic logo, and an abreviation of the games title. the xbox ones just have generic serial code, but i still keep them, but cube doesnt have any...so unless your good at telling the difference between a factory seal plastic, and Gamestop's back room shrink wrap, you might end up with a "new" gutted copy.

Hey, I can understand it... it's the equivalent of spine cards, really.

A thought: If the old Japanese HuCards didn't have the sticker on the back of the actual jewel case -- and instead applied them to the throw-away shrinkwrap -- you know we'd all be wanting those round stickers and some of us would pay top dollar for them.
