I was reading a new thread on Digital Press where a member was inquiring on where RoyVegas's Turbo collecting site went, and a lot of members were mentioning the flame wars here. They said that we unleashed Nintega over to DP, and that this site is nothing but a dramafest basically. The ignorance of some members on DP really pissed me off! I can't link the thread because it's one of those sites where the URL in the browser remains www.digitalpress.com/ no matter what page I am viewing. It's in the Classic Gaming forum under "Turbo Collector.com- Who Owns It?"
I just wish we could all get along. :(

There ya go. ;)
There's as much/more drama there (and some douchey power trip mods) than most gaming sites. A group of regulars that just act like asshats regularly with no problem.
P.S. Don't mind mobiusclimber in that thread,,he's just s doof that got verbally body sammed on here for his typical dumbass ways. ;)
I always had so much respect for DP. It is kinda disheartening because PCFX got me back into retro gaming after about a 10 year spell of depression. Then I learned about Digital Press, and the two sites became my homes. Hearing members there bash this place is kinda like watching two people you love say hateful things to each other. I was shocked.
I've never even heard of the place before now. Should I have? I clicked on Nectaris' link and the color scheme nearly made my eyeballs explode. Who comes up with that kind of stuff and thinks it looks good? Fortunately you can switch the skin to something better, though I don't know why they call the default VB theme "work safe" as if any place of work will let you view forums on the clock, just as long as they are not black and red.
I used to lurk on DP, but stopped after about a week, as it is by far the most boring retro gaming forum I've ever been on....
HAHAHAH
yeah that thread was worthless...
we don't bring any drama that they don't already have. If you took all the PCEFX members off that forum...
1) It would suck
2) There would still be all the know-it-all fuckwads that try to pick apart your post and make you look dumb but fall short and then just get mad and act like theyre "above it all"
Theres plenty of non-PCE people there flinging shit like monkeys at the zoo.
sounds like N-G.com lol
i think a little forum drama is a healthy way to remind us that tg16/pce owners are a very diverse group of people with many different opinions. i may disagree with you, sometimes, but it doesn't mean i hate you or dislike you as a person. -that should be the general attitude. hell, i'm staring at a computer monitor for christ's sake! it can also be helpful to remind us that when most forum members are united on an opinion, it should probably be taken notice of. but that only does what it does to an extent. after that it's purely pointless to keep going on about it. a good example would be the sega-16 forums... they have a great community over there and people can pretty much say whatever and nobody gets really mad at each other enough to go on about it forever. everyone there is pretty much too busy talking about retrogaming... the point of these kind of forums in the first place.
Drama is fine. It gives us something to do if we can't think of a game to talk about, lol.
Yeah, People are going to disagree and argue. Its normal. When people are all "oh drama is above me" etc. and choose to either talk down on people involved, or just opt to avoid drama with a pompous hand wave, I get pretty annoyed.
especially since usually those people are know it all fuckbags that generally only post to pick someones post apart and or "inform" about a topic. Though usually all they're providing is self proclaimed expertise... AKA misinformation. They rarely post to contribute an opinion on a game or join casual discussion. You wont see the person for 3 - 4 weeks but then suddenly they quote someone and go LOL YOURE WRONG, IM SO PRO.
the person is then made fun of and counter-proven-wrong, and they hide again for a month, waiting to strike.
Those people should just leave the internet.
The people who go toe to toe and back / forth are at least ballsy enough to do it and take any possible backlash.
ok, so that's why the gouging thread was deleted.

Of course! why let your reputation go up in flames on every forum when you can cover your tracks and play the victim to an audience of flids.

Really? I haven't noticed yet.

I really don't care what they think or if another forum is "talking trash" about our "Drama".
Doesn't that sound hypocritical to you?
The forum isn't at fault for the users acting up, the users are at fault for the users acting up.

How true.
Without going into too much detail, could someone give me a quick recap on what happened with RoyVegas or point me to the thread where he done got served?
Seems I missed out.
Thanks.
He deleted it (as it was created by him to begin with).

I skimmed the "Gouging much" archive yesterday but didn't notice anything too severe. Was it there or somewhere else?
It was there, but the archived version of the thread was made before all hell broke loose.
Dang. Well, maybe the Wayback Machine will have it after their standard six-month latency period.
Turning around and starting the whole "gouging much?" thread right after doubling his money on a copy of Magical Chase really pissed me off...as did presenting his "TurboGrafx [Bragging] Reference" as if it was some kind of big contribution or way of giving back to the community.
Oops! Looks like he's still active. HAHAH
Don't worry, your feelings are mirrored by almost the entire rest of the community on the forums, and that's all I'll say about it.
