Title: Uses for multitap?
Post by: bartre on 02/09/2011, 06:57 PM
Well, I've got my little setup, as well as a few games.
But as I play, I discovered something - I DON'T HAVE CRAP FOR MULTIPLAYER.
I have, Bomberman, Street Fighter II, and, and, and, NOTHING.
So, I need some suggestions.

what are the best multiplayer games on TG or PCE?
I'm open to any type of game as well.

Battle Lode Runner is lodes of fun, especially if you have five people. The premise of the mutliplayer mode is simple (dig holes for enemies to fall in) yet extremely fun and addicting. Lots of great powerups as well.

Oh and don't forget about the Dungeon Explorer games, those are must haves.

Extend the controller like a foot.

oh, yeah, I've already got DE1, and i would have 2, but it's $$$
also, it's a pain in the ass to get the multitap situated, any suggestions?

DEII is super cheap and just as playable in japanese. The main game is linear and most text just adds fun dialogue. There is a bunch of extra stuff to do, but the language barrier still won't restrict much of it.

There's plenty of good, cheap, U.S. multiplayers so I'll stick to those.  Actually, I honesty don't think you can really go wrong with any U.S. multi-player title.

I would just mix up your genres a bit.  Since you already have Bomberman, maybe wait on Battle Load Runner because it's so similar (it is totally great though).

Shooters:  Ordyne, Areoblasters, Monster Lair.
Sports/Brawlers:  Battle Royale (5 players), Hit the Ice, Power Golf, and World Sports Competition (5 players) are all light on the rules and easy to learn.
Closest things to U.S. beat-em-ups:  Cadash, Shockman.
Platformers:  Buster Bros, Parasol Stars, Bonk 3.
Puzzle/thinking:  Chew Man Fu, Splash Lake, Klax, King of Casino (seriously makes me what to gamble).
RPG (besides DE2):  Double Dungeons!
Racing:  Final Lap Twin, MotoRoader (5 players)

Splash Lake
Buster Bros
Double Dungeons
Parasol Stars
Cadash

...I can probably think of other more-than-one player games, but these are ones I've played with other people.

I took a strip of velcro and stuck it on the bottom of my Turbo tap, and stuck another strip on the turbob and put the tap on the turbob.  It fits nicely to the left of the hucard slot

Here's a few more good multiplayer games that I don't think have been mentioned yet: Military Madness, Kabuki Itouryodan, Motteke Tamago, Double Dragon II, 1943, Godzilla, Metamor Jupiter, Pop 'n Magic, and of course Faceball!

This game is amazing to play multiplayer!!  That is of course unless your up against a group of professional hole diggers that I was up against at last years VGS!!!  LMAO!!

Faceball 5 player multiplayer is THE BOMB!!  It blows away SNES Faceball 2000's wimpy 2 player mode ;)

Chew Man Fu, Aero Blasters and Bomberman are all the justification anyone needs for the multitap... I can't count the number of hours I've burned on those games with my friends and kids...
