Simply put, I like this game a lot!
One of my most played PCE shooters at the moment.
There is something about this game...It has that old school Irem feel to it.
I like how the weapons serve a purpose against the bosses.
I also hugely disagree with Shmup website's negative review! I mean, the reviewer should not be playing shooters, as this is one of the easier ones i have ever played. [-(
Now i am able to beat this game with little trouble.
It's a great game, and I love the remixed music, but the first Image Fight is the superior game.
My one real complaint with IF2 is the sub-weapon glitch. Once you discover it, the game becomes
a joke. I try to force myself not to use it, but it's just so easy to abuse...
I traded Image Fight II a few years ago, thinking I wouldn't want to play it again.
I was wrong.
I want to play this game again, but, alas, I have made my own bed :(
sure it's great. and heart attacking.
So what's the sub-weapon glitch? I may want to revisit this game...

ho ho ho.....nice vid, But i can't believe he lost at the first boss. :D
I still have to beat one but I'm excited to play 2. Lookjs awesome!!
I like the Boss theme, it's is one of the most intense and nerve-wracking music for a boss fight just possible. It pushes your adrenaline rush to max. level.
So Irem typical.
Hey I had work! Anyway the game has a major glitch.
Basically if your sub-weapon collides with an enemy, it blows up and
does major damage to what it hit. The glitch is that the game actually
remembers the spot the weapon was destroyed, and this becomes an enemy
death trap. Any enemy that enters that space will be damaged. If you ram into
a boss just enough so your sub-weapon explodes (and you don't crash into it),
the boss will be constantly hit by the new dead zone. Stationary bosses go down
in mere seconds using this.
There's a vid on youtube showing it some place, too.
Couldn't find the original vid, so I made my own.

The glitch won't actually kill anything, but brings everything down to one hit.
Notice how the boss flashes, and I'm not even shooting. Then it only takes one
hit to kill it.
Woah that's crazins. Thnx for video
well now there is no excuse for me not reaching stage 5 now thanks!! I love the penalty stage music though :D
Thanks for introducing me to another great shooter. I have to get this!
^^ Your welcome :D

I did not know about this. Thank you.
I had no idea about that glitch either!! One thing about Image Fight II is that a lot of the sound effects are much richer than the sound effects in the original Image Fight, particularly the explosions. Both games are awesome. To me they set the standard for shooter gameplay... the red pods are probably the most enjoyable and satisfying power up found in any video game. At least they are for me.
Well, I fully agree with you!
