I am looking for a Panasonic 3DO FZ-1 (model 1, first gen). It needs to be in good (gamers') condition w/ all hookups and one original controller. If you have a complete copy of Star Control 2 also that would be awesome! Please make offers. Thanks!

Just curious, any reason you're looking for the giant original model?

Because its bad ass! :P And because its less reliable and bad ass. And because Star Control 2 on 3DO is absolutely awesome! :P
Good luck Mathius :P Star Control 2 is super awesome. Probably my number one favorite PC game from childhood (right up there with Master of Orion and Civilization)

That's the model I had growing up, and like Bemby said, it's BADASS! :D I have never heard of any reliability issues, but that doesn't mean anything.
There is just something about the look and feel of it that I like. Someone put a lot of thought into it I would assume.
And yes Star Control 2 is my favorite PC game of all time, and my favorite 3DO game. I am playing through the PC version now but it doesn't have any of the voice clips during gameplay which for me was one of my favorite things about the game. I could play the freeware version, but I have a hell of a time getting a control pad to work with it. Plus, nothing beats playing it on a TV. :)
For the record, the FZ-1 is definitely the most reliable system from what I've read. The CD drive especially is very robust. Avoid the Goldstar units at all cost.
Maybe I've just had bad luck with fz-1s. But I will say they have the best controller! Long cable and heaphones jack / volume knob built in!

I had a Goldstar unit too bitd. I did prefer the Panasonic version.

Love them controllers! :)
something that made me scratch my head when the 3d0 came out: how can you ship a controller with less than 6 buttons in a post SFII world?

That's something the 3DO and Jaguar got horribly wrong.
Well I found one piece of the puzzle!

Because it did not support a controller?!...mouse/key only. GS on the acquisition, enjoy that sucka (SS, Turbo, Road Rash...what was the 5th good game for 3DO?)
I always played Star Control 2 on PC with an old Gravis gamepad... still do if I ever go back and play it. Too bad modern computers dont come with joystick ports anymore (or ide connectors, or FDD connectors, or serial / parallel ports, or ISA slots, or ....)

Ha ha!
If you download the version from GOG.com it comes with Joypad support. No voice acting though.
I have to admit, the voice acting was done really well in the 3DO version. While I like the DOS version for nostalgia.. the 3DO version really didn't do anything to hurt the core game, they only improved it. That in itself is an amazing feat!
