Title: Opinion of certain PC engine games
Post by: TurboExpressFan on 05/22/2011, 09:09 AM
I am currently thinking of getting a few games and was wondering what people's opinions of them. Raiden(love the game and think the PC engine has the best version out of the consoles available at that time), Dragon Saber(love the music for the system, who ever said the PC engine sound chip still sounds 8-bit), Aero Blasters(2 player goodness), Final Soldier(again love the music), Space Harrier(a bit of a SEGA fan), Dungeon Explorer(multiplayer role playing and great music, what more could a person ask for) Already own Bonk 1 and 2, am addicted to 2 right now. Are there any other good games I should now off.

Final Soldier + Bubble Weapon = <3

Dragon Saber is fucking badass also.

You should get Tatsujin and Salamander for more shooterdoom.

Pretty much every PCE game is pretty awesome.  Even the shitty ones are worth showing off!

Final Soldier and Dragon Saber are both sequels. Do you already have Super Star Soldier and Dragon Spirit? I found Final Soldier to be too easy, Super Star Soldier is a bit more challenging and the flame weapon is more fun to use.

Image Fight and Mr Heli are a couple of awesome Japanese HuCard games that should be fairly cheap. If you enjoy 2D platforming and the old adventure Island series on NES, you've gotta grab JJ and Jeff.

Thanks for the suggestions, just wondering is Image Fight and Final soldier multiplayer or just single, already bought Final Soldier. Trying to find a co-op shooting game for the system as I do no have any yet that I know of(Final Soldier is still in the mail).

Raiden sucks balls, Aero Blasters and Final Soldier are way way way better, not even close.

Image fight is a difficult 1 player shooter. If you want coop, look into salamander, burning angels, detana!! twinbee, and psychic storm.

I stick with the Vulcan shot in Final Soldier cause it's nice having them shoot out from all directions and getting the enemies that creep up from the bottom of the screen.

THE BUBBLE SHOT IS THE BEST WEAPON. STOP USING ANYTHING ELSE BUT BUBBLES.

psychic storm is pretty awesome it feels like Sapphire lite and you get to play as (multi-racial) dudes instead of busty ladies (with questionable big hair) hehe

As long they're sitting on the head, there's nothing wrong with 'em.

Thanks for all the reply's. Though I should probably mention that I do not own the CD attachment for it as of yet. Also what is a good price for Dragon Saber, the cheapest I can seem to find it is  for $25 including shipping from the USA.
