Title: Early PCE game protos: anyone have a better scan of this?
Post by: ccovell on 06/20/2011, 10:21 AM
Hey, folks.  I found a couple pictures of unreleased/altered games in the PCE's lineup announcement.  Pic from this blog: http://blogs.yahoo.co.jp/gamesmasa/62527538.html

The picture shows an unreleased pinball game (became Alien Crush... maybe?) and Jungle King, which I'm sure became Makyou Densetsu.  Both games have Hudson release numbers (8 and 9) which went to different games in the end.  Cool, huh?

Very interesting. Vol. 8 looks like a Castlevania clone in that small screenshot, I could see it being a proto Makyou Densetsu/Legendary Axe.

Neato.  That pinball pic looks like the result of a three way between Time Cruise, Alien Crush, and Parasol Stars.

It's interesting to see that Youkai Douchuuki had a Hudson volume. Maybe they wanted every single PCE game to have a volume number.

I've blown up vol 8 and ran the title through translator software just for interest.

HAHAHAH! very nice.

So we all know now that Strider was first developed on a PCE hardware, before brought into the Arcades.
