It is an Victorian era JRPG that revolves around a spirit detective team. It has battles in it.

I looked on the Yahoo Auctions but couldn't find it. Do they ship to the US though?

Hey all, hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season. I bought myself an AVS and so far I've been playing the Castlevania games. I'm looking to play and get some more NES or Famicom games for $20 or less. Anybody have any game suggestions that are non-Nintendo developed? Thanks!

If you're looking for some Saturn games, I recommend trying out Wachenroder. Personally my favorite linear rpg that has a unique setting and characters. The only thing is that it can get repetitive. There is a full translation guide for it on Gamefaqs. Also of anyone is interested I did a review of it: http://segasaturngroup.proboards.com/thread/8984/wachenr-der-jp-review-spoilers

Gotta say thank you to everyone who posted their suggestions thus far! There were many titles that I never even heard of like True Lies, Midnight Resistance, Shadow Dancer, Tinhead.

I initially bought the Genesis collection on PS3 some years ago and absolutely loved the majority of the games on it which held me back from buying a Genesis. But of course I knew there would be fantastic games that I and friends would miss out on.

I'll definitely look into buying an Everdrive first before delving totally into getting the og carts due to me really going after Saturn and Wii U games at the moment. Do everdrives need an SD card to function? I don't know much about it.

Also the Powerbase Converter FM is meant to be a replacement for the official one by Sega? I recall that the official one cannot work on Model 2 (which I have).

As the title says I just bought a Genesis from a local game store and have been having fun with the console and games so far!

I currently have Rocket Knight Adventures, Aladdin, and Sub-Terraria. Any suggestions that you may have?

Hey, I'm getting back into collecting for Sega Saturn and I am interested in buying a few games for a lower cost than the ebay prices.

Battle Garegga
Batsugun Bought
Soukyugurentai
Layer Section
Radiant Silvergun

Preferably with the spine card,  but willing to buy without. Shoot me a message with a price and game. I'm very negotiable. Thanks!

Today I got my PC Engine Duo R! First off I gotta thank jtucci31 for selling the console to me and throwing in 5 games along with the console! It is modded as well so I can use RGB and S-Video.

To my surprise he included War of the Dead which is a game I've been wanting to play ever since I saw it. He also through in Legend of Xanadu, NHK, and burnt copies of Steam Hearts and Ys IV which is just excellent. I am thankful for the extras! The Metamor Jupiter was from a purchase from a while ago for cheap. This is the start of my PCE gaming and I know I'mma have some fun with it!

Alright so I'll admit that not every single Japanese Mega Drive game out there is expensive. But there are certain games out there that I see commend for some high prices online. Examples of games that I personally want to own and play are Divine Sealing, Aleste, Eliminate Down, Gaiares, Gleylancer, and Twinkle Tale. Thanks to the internet, I've been able to try these games out and have enjoyed all of them but holy crap, the games above are all $200+ on eBay and last time I checked Eliminate Down went for $1,000! I know reproductions on certain games are available if I truly wish to own a physical cartridge. but is that the way to go?

Is the high price of the games due to some sort of low production run on the games or is it just because of the rise in market for shooters? Thoughts and opinions?

That's a crazy story Exodus! I always find it funny in some way that there are always people who work on certain aspects of a game, but never try it out themselves. Nonetheless, Matsuura seems like a swell guy.

wow, this is an oops on my part. I'll check around next time I attempt to make a thread. If the moderators feel free to lock this thread than go ahead, I'll check out the original thread. Thank you!

Anybody played Metamor Jupiter? I'm a big shmup fan, and got the game relatively cheap.

Hey, I was wondering if anybody has a Duo R they're willing to part with. If you do, I'll pay a reasonable price for both of us. Thank you for the consideration.

Shoot me a message please.

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 04/25/2016, 07:38 PMI almost never say this, I promise, but you should just play it in MAME. It's not like any version is all that great so you might as well have the original. Blowing $200 on this an an SGX is not the best use of one's classic gaming money. You could probably get the PCB for that.

The Capcom Generations version is pretty good too.
I'll take a look at the MAME version, thank you! But damn, $200! Last I checked on eBay it was way less than that. I've just checked out the Saturn version of Capcom Generations and the games look great. Thanks for the recommendation.

Quote from: Izod1337 on 04/25/2016, 06:44 PMThank you for your thoughts. It sucks that the PCE versions are sub par compared to the Genesis version as I'm love the early GnG entries. But I'd rather not experience a bad version of the game if I can play it on the Genesis.
I know this is kinda subjective but you are experiencing a bad version of the game since the Genesis is the worst version in terms of looks.  Sonically it's one of the best tho.
I get what you mean but as you said it is subjective. The Genesis version appears to be alright and the gameplay is still going for it. The Super Grafx version though looks closest to the arcade version as it gets.

Quote from: elmer on 04/25/2016, 07:08 PMYou might wait for a few more opinions.

The SuperGrafx follows the arcade controls ... Joe obviously doesn't like that, but it's hardly a "wrong" choice for the developers to make ... although playing the game with a joystick would give a better feel.
You're right about waiting for a few more opinions on the matter. The Super Grafx version seems like a nice port to me. I'll probably end up getting it in the future and judge it myself. And what do the arcade controls feel like?

Quote from: guest on 04/25/2016, 07:12 PMWell be specific... Isn't SFX version the more faithful versio graphically?

I agree the Genesis version is the best as far as playability.

Not sure about music. The SNES version sounds pretty good.
To be fair, Cho Makaimura is more of it's own game since it was made specifically for the SNES so it takes advantage of everything it has going for it.

I think I have a couple of your shirts.
Thanks! And  I busted out laughing when I read that.

I was wondering how this version of Daimakaimura fares up to the Genesis/Mega Drive version of this game. Is it the preferred port to anyone or do you believe the Sega version is superior?

Also this is a Super Grafx game, correct? Is it compatible with the Duo R/RX?

NEC Console Resource / What's Up?

What's up everyone? My name's Izod1337! You can call me Izod! Well for introduction's sake I am a newcomer to the PC Engine/Turbo Grafx 16. I gained some interest after watching some videos on YouTube and hope to buy one sometime in June. I'm most interested buying the Duo R for its design. I am most interested in the shooters and arcade titles for the PCE as they look really fun to play.

Consoles I currently own and play are PS1-3, Xbox 360, SNES, Super Famicom, N64, GCN, Wii U, Saturn, and Dreamcast.

I look forward to being in a new community of gamers.
