I want to be clear, here: I don't think the amps are faulty in any way - they work fine on the Turbo stuff. I just don't know what's going on when I connect them to a non-Turbo console...

So, I have a question... I bought a few of these chips from Turbokon, and I set to installing 2 of them into a Genesis and a Master System. On both systems, with two different chips, my colors are coming out very dark. The whites look like a medium grey and the remaining colors are dark, as well. I tried tweaking the luma signal but that only served to make the colors look washed out, and not brighter. So, I removed the 1k resistors that are connected to the RGB inputs and replaced them with 1.5k resistors. no change. I'm tapping into a CXA1145 encoder on both systems. I haven't tried it with my SNES yet, but I wanted to get this resolved before I move on.

Here's a question: For sync, I'm tapping into the sync pin and not the composite pin. Would that make a difference ? I'm using the older encoders for this, so I thought without the LM1881 I could use the sync signal without issue (I'm using sync out, not sync in). I'd really appreciate any help on this. Thanks!

Edit, I have also tried this circuit on a Genesis:

This circuit works fine, and on the same television, the colors look correct. I could build this circuit, but since I have the chips from TK, I want to use those instead. Thanks.

Up for sale are two items, both modded Genesis systems. First up is a Fully modded Genesis Model 1, which has the following mods:
-Component video out
-S-video out
-Composite video out
-Stereo audio out
-JP/US Region switch & widened cart slot
-10MHz overclock
-Halt switch
-Red LED replacement (it's much brighter now).

System comes with 1 set of AV wires, 1 ProPad6 controller, and a CIB copy of Super Street Fighter II. Unfortunately, I do not have a spare AC adapter to include, but this shouldn't be hard to find, if you don't already have one. Oh, one thing: for the component mod, i cranked up the resistance on the sync in line to eliminate the vertical bars that are present in the model 1 systems as best I could, but as a result, it sometimes takes the Genesis a couple seconds to sync up properly. Video of that is included.

Price shipped: SOLD!

Next up is a modded Model 3 Genesis. The mods done to this system are:

-S-video out
-Virtua Racing compatibility fix
-Game Genie fix
-RGB outputs restored.
-Red power LED added to front of system.

System comes with 1 set of AV wires, 1 s-video cable 1 6 button controller (the one that was originally included with the system), and AC adapter.

Price shipped: $75.00 OBO.

As it is with all my items, I hate to let this one go, but I have no other option, it seems (well, aside from turning tricks in the bad part of town, and no one wants to see that). For sale I have a TurboDuo-R system in great condition, along with a Turbo Everdrive (w/ SD card), an Avenue pad 6 controller, a 3 player HE multiplayer adapter, and a copy of Street Fighter II: Championship Edition in great condition as well. I am the 2nd owner of the system, but I have only used the system a handful of times for testing purposes. I have also recently installed a new CD rom lens, and it reads every game (legit and burned) perfectly and without issue.

Here are some closeups of what I'm looking at:

Here's the LM1881. Solid green is video in from pin A23 on the EXP port, striped green is sync out, solid blue is 5V in and the two striped blue are tied together and are connected to ground.

Here's a shot of the voltage regulator. You can see the striped blue wire coming from the LM1881 to the center pin which is ground, along with another ground wire from the CXA1645, as well as the solid blue 5V wire from the LM1881, and the 5V line from the CXA1645 (Will show shortly) connected to voltage out, which should supply a 5V voltage to all components.

Here's the CXA1645 itself. Pin 1 is grounded, pins 2,3,&4 are RGB respectively, pin 5 is No Connection, pin 6 is connected to pin 3 of the oscillator (shown above the IC), pins 7, 12, & 19 are all tied together, and fed into pin 4 of the oscillator, which is connected to the voltage out on the regulator (shown in the previous pic). Pin 8 is no connection, pin 9 is grounded, and pin 10 is sync in. Pin 11 is no connection.

Bottom half of the 1645. Pin 13 is connected to a 47KOhm resistor and a 0.1uF capacitor, which are then each ran to ground. Pin 14 is connected to a 10uF capacitor connected to ground, while pins 15 and 16 are connected to a 75ohm resistor and a 220uF capacitor in series each, connected to chroma and luma respectively. Pin 17 has no connection. Pin 18 is connected to a 20kohm resistor out to ground. Pin 19 has been discussed earlier, pin 20 is also connected by a 75ohm resistor and 220uF capacitor in series out to composite out. Pins 21, 22, & 23 are not used for this circuit. Pin 24 is connected to ground.

OK, so what would you suggest I do? Is using an op amp for the sync going to be enough? Should I use the RGB/SYNC shown here:

Thanks for clearing the diagram up - I was going crazy trying to find a bi-polar 510pF capacitor. :)
