Yeah, I have a whole drawer of USB PlayStation knockoff PC gamepads, nothing came close to the originals, but maybe it was my fault for settling at a $19.99 pricepoint when I saw one...

The 8bitdo SNES30 really is the best unlicensed counterfeit I ever bought - the weight, the texture, the concave/convex buttons between top/bottom rows, all match the original SNES pads. Feels weird for the first time to get a console "feel" with my Windows PC box, I can play a game so much better (until my thumb pinched nerves kick up, that is)...

One thing, I did buy a $4 SNES knockoff that let me fix my original SNES pad that broke, the Left side button just stopped working one day, the IC/chip just died as there was no physical damage. So I bought a $4 knockoff from a Chinese seller for parts, soldered out the chip from that and actually fixed my original! Hard to believe that it worked, but I pulled it off.

Anyway, my TurboDuo pad works, I even went to the trouble of soldering an extension wire years ago when I was more active. It's cool to see new pads still being manufactured for others if needed. Definitely would be nice to see maintenance packs with just the rubber/foamy material for the buttons and d-pad to swap it out if control/contact is not as good anymore from wear (I'm sure that's already available, just never looked).

I've seen aftermarket pads with the magnets affixed to the back of buttons or the d-pad to replace the rubber insert that makes contact with the board. So you have a much less responsive controller. These kinds of corner cuts are common. That's not to say ALL aftermarket controllers are bad, but most are made as inexpensively as possible. I've seen brand new Genesis after market pads with plastic as soft as a fast food drink cup and frayed wires coming out of the shell.

If it works and feels close to the original, then great. I'm wary of knock-offs though after the experience with SNES pads until I bought an 8bitdo SNES30 which really comes close to the feel of an original pad only with much better features!
Most modern aftermarket third party controllers are cheap crap made with shortcuts taken throughout the entire process. I'm hoping this is a quality product as a TG16 pad with a convertor cable is no longer nearly as inexpensive as it was just a few years ago.

The boob physics are amazing!  lol
How is such a game not right up your alley, Dan ??
Well, I was skeptical until I heard that the those physics were amazing, be it Dead or Alive or just about any version of Mari Shiranui I didn't think it could improve from here.

Back on subject......I've decided to sell this Xbox 360.  Anyone looking to buy one?  PM me.
They aren't worth much, on half price books half off day we were seeing slims and smaller models for under 30 bucks with a hard drive, controller and cables. I'd honestly recommend holding on to it.

I'm not big into watching Streams but it seems like Twitch is the big platform for that. Since I'm into watching streams, I don't watch Twitch much. So I would actually say YouTube but I am not your target demographic for streaming videos.

Somehow Kid Dracula and Splatterhouse are harder than any of the other games in their series, despite the friendly looks.  Or maybe I just suck at those games.
I've beaten Splatterhouse Wanpaku Graffiti. Kid Dracula has just enough Japanese text to where I've not put as much time into trying to complete it as I probably should.

Speaking of GameStop, it's been in the news lately due to an Angry Grrrrr GamerThug about to pull a can of whip ass out for being called "sir..." "Marthafocker, take it outside and I WILL GIVE YOU A SIR!!!! SAY SIR ONE MORE TIME!!! SAY SIR ONE MORE TIME!!!!!!"
I'm just imagining the call to GameStop corporate
Gamestop Rep: "Thank you for calling GameStop corporate how can I help you?"
Freakout Star: "Hi, I would like to levy a complaint"
Gamestop Rep: "And what complaint may that be sir?"
Freakout Star "WHY DID YOU CALL ME SIR?"

Hmmm...dunno about that one Dan-O. I'm pretty sure it got panned across the board. Don't get me wrong, I picked it up also but it's not high on my list. Uninspiring gfx, repetitive enemies and "Euro" shooting mechanics(take too may shots to kill normal enemies) just send the game to sub mediocre. Plus Konami was on full DLC get-rich-quick mode with it...I'd love to have the castlevania girl but I'm not paying $5 with the game being so dull.
It has umm.. charm and is a worthwhile pickup at a low price.

After watching this video I really don't know why anyone would waste their time with one considering a pc will have most of the big games on it.
There's a lot of dirt cheap games that can be bought physically at very low prices. Gamestops are closing left and right and last gen stuff for 360 and PS3 is about as cheap as it's going to get. Get the deals now while you still can if you want to physically own copies of these games

My  brother- in-Law gave me his xbox 360.  He isn't much of a gamer and gave me a stack of worthless sports titles along with it.  In the stack was Red Dead Redemption and Bioshock.

I really don't know much about the system I have never had an xbox console before.  The system does work and I played Bio shock for a bit.  I don't think he used it in over four or five years.  I have a couple of questions for any owners of this system.

How important is an internet connection and microsoft account for this system?  I have no interest in any multiplayer games (I assume the multiplayer community is dead since there is the xbox One now).  Does this thing have wireless internet or is it Cat5 cable connection only?  Being a Microsoft product, I assume a lot of games need patches.

Any must have games?  Not looking to spend a lot of money on expensive chase rare titles but quality games that I can pick up on the cheap.  Platformers and shooters are my go-to games.
Check around local gamestops, some games you might like would be Deathsmiles, Akai Katana, Otomidious Excellent and there's a lot of other very solid games for it. Unfortunately, 13 years after its release the online store and what not doesn't have quite as much content up as it used to. The original models are ethernet only so you need to plug it in somewhere you can run a cable to.

I saw this for sale and thought Hudson fans might want this as I don't see plushies of him as often as other famous video game characters.

Back in the day I remember buying used games at Blockbuster video. Bizarrely enough the codes were still in the cases and I was able to download the added DLC that was designed to be a premium for people who bought the games new.

I'd add nervousness about the outcome of today's election...

I voted no on a proposition to ban plastic straws, an attempt to import a Commiefornia policy here in Chicago and I think I'm gonna lose, but who knows, I may be surprised, we did repeal the sugar soda pop tax after enough anger made our voices heard...
Heh, the cook county sugar soda tax will forever live in infamy!

That tiny JVC TV is adorable.  What's the model of it, and what kind of connections does it take?
Those 9 inch pro monitors are nice in general. I suspect it's taking composite through BNC there but probably has RGB via BNC as well.

I remember working at Electronics Boutique when we got our first one in.  We had a list of about 30-40 people who wanted one.  The demand was insane.

The launch games were a complete let down...
Was that when Electronics Boutique was in one of the pods in Yorktown?

Dragonmaster Dyne was born in this sleepy village of Burg
I hadn't realized that DragonMasterDan had adopted his username/alias from a Working Designs published title until finding that, heh. I just thought it was due to him actually being named Dan, and having mastered playing with his dragon in his leisure (that, or thought he was a just solid D&D fan).
Yes, though I actually am named Dan the user ID is a reference to Lunar. I've been using it since 1996 or so on the old message boards which had a Lunar specific board called the Lunar threads.

I bought this a year ago, but I'm really happy with the product and I know some people here shop at MicroCenter which is where I bought my first home PC (Compaq Presario) in 1996 so wanted to pass the deal along. Great computer/electronics store, so many great gadgets wind up in there some times for dirt cheap, especially with open-box markdown sales when items are returned. So anyway, I recommend the SSD upgrade if you're still using a 7200 RPM spinner in your desktop or tower PC...

Had I waited a year or so though, I would've purchased the next model up for 480GB which is more comfortable while still using a secondary 1-2TB spinner for long-term storage of videos, photos, music, projects, backup, etc.

The 480GB is also on sale for $70!
I go to Microcenter here and there but their sale items are usually long gone if they're a good enough deal
