Welcomings! Nice telly.
I have an urge to come and tidy your cabling though.
I got my duo from KC. You won't regret it.

I agnostically abstain from abstaining. Though my dad only had fish on Friday growing up and when I was younger I did go church occasionally. Not too regularly but I went to a church school so it was like going every day.

Quote from: guest on 04/17/2018, 10:35 PMBullshit!!! The firehouse? Slimmer. You don't throw that stuff out. You question her again!!! I don't care how long it's been. She gave it away to a neighbors kid or a cousin in the family! Keep us posted!
I think the most likely explanation is she took them to a table sale fundraiser at the school she works at cos I know she did that with some other stuff she thought had no value. To be fair I had forgotten about most of my old stuff and only remembered it when I turned into a man child few years ago.
The one that hurt me the most was my Nintendo adventure books. I had them all, done in pencil so I could rub out and do again. I knew them off by heart but still read them over and over in my room when I had no friends. ( I went to a school far away to be with one friend and he moved away after one year)

You still haven't done your best and worst Ys music yet.
I've been waiting.

Not quite £100 but I bought die hard couple years ago for £20. Now it seems to go £40-£60. That's some inflation on a mediocre but not unenjoyable game.

I had the 4 guys, a slimer, a stay puft, a firehouse and a sweet ecto-1 with a winch in the back. After I moved out I went back home one day and asked my mum where they were.
" I probably threw them out"

I really like the look of some of the little things. They way the character moves is nice and the little speech bubble thing when turning off a computer is cute.

I'm watching STTNG for about the third time. Just finished watching TOS for the second time through. I like Star Trek. If I live another 35 years I'll have spent over £4000 on Netflix just to watch Star Trek over and over.
#11
Welcome. You may now play the Ys series. Enjoy.
#12
The Nintendo adventure books from the early 90s were great. Except when my mum threw them out after I moved out.
#13
I looked at snapchat once. I really don't understand it. What purpose does it serve? Am I too old to understand it?

I love my duo but I miss my beefcase:'(. Good luck to the lucky owner.

Quote from: guest on 02/06/2018, 09:43 AMP.S. - Prince of Persia seems like a nice game at the start.  It sounds, looks, and plays good for the first few levels, but then you hit those tricky switches and jumps and the frustration level goes through the roof.
THIS IS SO FREAKING TRUE.

If it had a better difficulty curve would be an adequate entry to the library . Plus the soundtrack sucks. All sounds the same to me.

Uk is great for importing. No tax on video games from EU, no tax from outside EU under £135.
Well it used to be when £1 was $2.

Quote from: wildfruit on 01/29/2018, 04:33 PMOh I hear this. I've got a dryer my cousin gave me from the 90s. Still going strong. All I've done is put a new door catch and hinge on. As for the other appliances in 11 years been through
2 x dishwashers
2x refrigerators
3 x washing machines (4 if you count one that leaked on delivery)
3 x electric ovens.
I concede these all get high use in our bustling house hold but still takes the piss a bit. I find being extravagant or stingy with purchase makes no difference to longevity.
Damn even in the UK things aren't built to last anymore.
Most large appliances here are made in Italy or Poland. Strangely the tumble drier is made in uk.

Is this raffle still on?

Just got these two. Finally replaced my mislaid asterix for master system. Been missing for years. Randomly saw it in a second hand shop window for £2.

Axiom verge is great fun. The glue the outlay was stuck on with is stupid strong though. No way to avoid ripping the outlay and marking the box. I know it's just a box but still butt hurt.

Your American football is bewildering to me. I did used to like staying up all night to watch hockey games though when they used to be broadcast here on tv live. One game a week. Sometimes 2. I remember watching New Jersey win the Stanley cup in 2000 and the avalanche in 2001. Great times. I don't care for sports these days. At all.
Try rugby union, it stops play less than American football.

My axiom verge I preordered back in August is finally being shipped next week. Dunno wether to swap it for dragon quest builders instead tho. I showed my 10yo the labo stuff. He seems interested and it's released day before his birthday. Ideal.

My favourites on Ys 1&2 are the first palace, the transition to book 2 and the end credits. I like the end credits because it sounds like some music from a cheesy 80s game show.
In 3 my favourite is the redmont town music. I actually prefer the mega drive version though. Can't remember much of 4 off the top of my head.

Quote from: guest on 12/04/2017, 03:04 PMWhut lol. Thanks, didn't know about that. Did it at least had both RF and Composite included?
I'm afraid not. Plus I didn't at the time have anything that could do S- video. It's not very common here. I have a toshiba now that claims to do s-video via scart adaptor but I tried a couple with no success so I just stick to rgb scarts.
#31
Quote from: guest on 12/04/2017, 03:01 PMThe N64 was supplied with a composite A/V cable. An RF modulator had to be purchased seperately. Dark grey consoles are able to output S-Video natively in both PAL and NTSC territories.
In uk it came with RF in the box
#32
N64 was my most disappointing purchase ever. I ended up giving it to a friend. GIVING. I could not stand the blurry mud. Real annoying that it only came with RF cable. Not that it mattered as it couldn't do RGB scary anyway, which in PAL land was the only benefit we had. I would maybe play 4 games again
Mario 64, OOT, mischief makers & rogue squadron. Plus the game carts were too expensive. Extra £10/20 premium for crappy game versus a PSX crappy game. After never having a snesss was so excited.  Goldeneye with friends was ok but I don't think it would hold my interest. A solar Jetman remake would have been nice though ;)
#33
Solar jetman with more colours would have been nice.

Quote from: guest on 10/28/2017, 08:24 AMI thought Zelda was going to be that game until I saw the destructible weapon aspect, and how quickly they degrade. I hate that shit.
Seconded.
But mario odyssey? Fantastic. Looks good, controls good, sounds good. A joy.

Looks good. Could the red carpet be a different red?

Quote from: wildfruit on 08/10/2015, 01:00 PMI would say Nandos is my favourite. Mmmm chicken
Nando's is like the upmarket KFC

Burger King I crave every now and then but only the restaurant near Aldgate near the whitechapel art gallery

Brick lane is another great place for food especially on the Sunday morning/noon times.  Lots of vendors selling food from all corners of the earth in one spot.
I use the same BK. So expensive now though I only get whatever is on offer. I have had cause to visit many businesses on brick lane. All I can say is I wouldn't have a curry down there if you value your life. Been going beigel shop for years tho.

Yeah, it serves one person well :)

Crowded venue with thirsty, impatient bastards?

Abominable service.

:)
Well I say this in theory only. I've gone right off Diet Coke. I only drink it if nothing else is available. Much prefer Diet Pepsi.

Quote from: Winniez on 05/24/2017, 01:37 AMEarly FIFA games were really underwhelming in my opinnion. Especially when compared against the EA's own brilliant NHL series.
I played quite lot of the early FIFA games on PC and I would say the first good one was 96. Not sure about 95, that was SEGA exclusive but looks similar to the first FIFA.
I too vouch for ISSD being the best football game of its time, and NHL being the best sport game series.
FIFA 95 is quite nice. Has quite good graphics and sound. It controls well. It's fun up to a point, there's a bug that if you just run down the touch line and shoot near the end the opposing goalie will just dive straight up in the air and you will score every time.
That's quite a bug...it would be fun to watch a compilation video of Old vs. New FIFA bugs.

And I am not a sports fan, especially futbol.

:)
Me either. It's one of very few I have. I like virtua tennis though.

Quote from: guest on 09/12/2017, 09:26 AMWarp speed porn!

And since you're in the UK, it's probably dirt cheap compared to what a similar connection would cost here in cornland.
It's not that cheap. But not quite as expensive as US. About 65 of your colonial dollars will buy that speed with a phone line and unlimited phone calls. I had internet and phone for free all last year from bagging an offer from another provider that shouldn't have existed really existed.  Swings and roundabouts here. There is limited gigabit internet dotted around in very small locales.

Who actually gets off on this stuff ?
Not me I get off on reading the forums sitting on the toilet listening to age of empires soundtrack on a Roland sound canvas sc88. Which just happens to be what I'm doing right now.

Quote from: deubeul on 08/21/2017, 03:20 PMGrowing up in PAL land was hell. That's surely one of the many reasons I so much loved the PC Engine, the semi-official french distribution being Japanese RGB modded consoles. It was unbearable for me to play PAL MD and Super Nintendo, and imported systems were really expensive.
So your TVs supprted 60Hz as well?
Certainly from mid/late 90s onwards. I had a crt that I had from about the age of 14 til it broke last year and it did 60hz. As does the replacement Panasonic crt that my aunt gave me that she had for a good while. Television is still broadcast in 50hz. Electricity is still 50hz.
