Hi there, any original Xbox One owners that have no intention of purchasing a Kinnect: I got an Xbox One S and it requires a stupid adapter for the Kinnect. I was talking to Microsoft and they said if I provide a Xbox Original serial # I could qualify for a free adapter. The rep said ANY serial # works even if it is my friends console. If anyone would be so kind that would be super cool!

Thanks!
#2
ok,

I have seen some photos of RAU-30 hooked up to different systems but first wanted to make sure it does in face work with PCE systems. Don't ask why, I know it's pointless but just wondering if it works.

2nd - if the TG-16 could fit (and I know there is a expansion point fittament issue) would it work? Granted you could get the pins to fit?
#3
I found this yesterday from a small game shop after asking if they had any Turbografx. I've never seen a TG16 in such bad shape. Do you think it will work?

They drilled out the bottom screws and also dremeled the area near the RF box?

The PCB doesn't look too bad, I cleaned it up and removed the RF box (it looked like they damaged the RF box when dremeling and then attempted to repair RF box). I'm guessing this happened a long time ago if they bothered doing that.

Buy/Sell/Trade / ISO: Turbo CD dock
04/08/2016, 06:55 PM
I'm interested mainly in just the dock. Need for development of a special adapter. Your for parts CD Dock will work just fine, interested with or without the CD unit.
#5
Ok so on Gamesx.com there is a "101 secrets" section that says 13 pins were unused in the expansion port (no accessory ever supported). Was that the video bus pins? There are 15 of these so i assume a couple were used.

Update - FIXED

Was a bad trace (corroded) coming off pin 79 of a HU6270 (the chip closest to power switch). Just jumpered and all good now.

Quote from: Duo_ROK I recently posted how i obtained a Supergrafx unit. I bought it knowing it was a repair unit but I was hoping just a bad fuse. Doesn't seem to be the case. The fuse is fine, I just tested the voltage regulator and it's getting 9.5v in and outputting 4.99 on the out pin.

I replaced the 470uf cap that looked like it was going bad, cleaned up the board and everything visually looks ok no cracks. The shielding on the bottom did have blobs of solder that disconnected and I resoldered those. When I power on I get white screen then it goes all black. So appears to boot but nothing happens. Any tips on common issues ? I'm a sucker for repair systems. ;-)

I got a Supergrafx on the way.

It doesnt have power or AV cable, anyone got the power specs handy. Is it standard AV port?

Hi I'm in need of hacking a laser lens, make the lens operate up and down.

Does anyone know how to do that? So far the motors I have looked at from a PS2 to a CD Rom have 4 solder points. One is connected to ground but not sure what the other 3 do. I want to operate the lens by moving up and down using a battery. I am not using it to read CDs :-)

A bunch of games are 1.80, I already got these on MVS or multicart, but is nice to be able to play on PS3.

Anyone picking these up? Some good deals on other games including arcade classics for .60 cents.

I know that SF 2 allows you to map any button even on 6 button controller (you can swap punches with kicks). Do the other 6 button fighting games allow you to do this?
#12
Makes this controller even more versatile, with 3 button capability.

Please subscribe for future projects. If there is enough interest I can release a full tutorial.

I found a European jamma board that I'm interested in.

Question for those that have a supergun: since I am converting from RGB to component with a video transcoder, there isn't an issue playing these on a US TV? I mean there isn't a PAL standard built into the boards correct?
#14
Pretty happy with how this came out

General Gaming / Can you identify this cab
06/23/2015, 05:00 PM
i don't believe this is an original Neo Geo cab. It has a MV-1 which has the regular Jamma standard so I think someone converted to Neo Geo. any guesses on what it used to be?

So I found one of these on craigslist, they say it works good. Asking is $75, I think it would be cool for testing RGB systems and arcade boards.

Is that a good price or should I offer less? It's a 12inch RGB monitor.
#17
Ok I was so close to purchasing a Stryder cab but the seller backed out.

Too bad because I need a horizontal cab for all the arcade PCBs I own.

So decided to start a project in the meantime:

OK I bought some arcade boards over the weekend:

Bad Dudes
Robo cop
Buster Brothers
NBA Jam
Sky Shark
Image Fight
Atari game (non Jamma)
All for $130. Let me know thoughts on these.

I'm planning on building  a Supergun, I do have a vertical display cab that I think I could use for Sky Shark and Image Fight.

Bad Dudes holds a special place because it's typical 80s beat em up. President kidnapped, muscle shirts, tons of ninjas. Lol
#19
Ok I got Hawk Man now but a couple questions:

When I open chests that I know I haven't opened they are empty. Is there something causing that?

is there a way to use the Tasmanian sword to change into other forms like the SMS Version?
#20
Here is my latest label designed after SSS. The case was a design by Buffalo.

I also have a case to hold this with the same theme design. If you saw my last Turbo Everdrive case it's the same idea but I wanted something with a PC Engine theme to it.

General Gaming / Modded N64 controller
02/09/2015, 12:37 PM
I was playing Turok on N64 and was really annoyed how the Map button was L which is inconvenient to hit when using the analog stick.

So I decided to mod the controller...lol

• Added L button on face of controller
• Y axis tilt - Turok doesn't have an option for this
• Switch to flip Y axis flip on and off (very small)
• GameCube Style joystick
• Board by Micro - greatly improves accuracy of GameCube stick and makes Y Axis flip very easy
• rumble pack is powered by controller no batteries
• Purple LED - why not

Also N64 is RGB nodded and currently using a RGB to HDMI box that looks great

I'm short on time these days so don't have to build some RGB amps. Anyone selling these still?

Note - I am in need of RGB amps not component as I am using RGB for video capture.

Got one for sale here. Throwing in a booklet (I think I bought from Sparky) if you want to display the US cover. It just has the story on the inside (not an original US manual).

Game has a few superficial scratches but plays flawless. Shoot me a PM with offer.

seriously, this thing kicks ass. My Duo Pad controllers are pretty worn out, but really don't feel as comfortable to hold as the shuttle.

I didn't see a thread on this, but looks like Tobias is doing some booties again, this time some of the Turbo Duo releases:

Godzilla
Bonk 3
Dynastic Hero
Dungeon Explorer II

What is weird is it says orders are on hold for box sets.

Just wanted to give a heads up, I'm not doing mods anymore. Full time job and life is eating my time. All is well but I don't have spare time to do mods anymore (been like that for a while). Just wanted to post because I get emails / PMs asking if I can do work. Unfortunately I can't which is a bummer because I miss those days when I was able to.

Maybe by the time Turbo Express battery door 3D printed parts come down in cost I'll start making those battery packs again.

Good news is there are still some great people one here who are doing mods!  =D>

I know there isn't that much love on here for the N64 here, but HDMI out is prett nice!

How many years will it be before we see something like this for our PC Engine (a built in board converter).

Not sure if anyone saw this, but the source code of Art of Fighting was found on the PC Engine release. I don't know if any of that helps with further development insight to PC Engine, but thought I would post.

http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=320783

QuoteI don't have the real hard drive, the neogeo source code was hidden in the PC-engine CDROM conversion source code of this game.

The tools i found only work for PC-engine, and most are PC-DOS based (some are not compatible with our western PCs!)
none are related to the neogeo, i'm sorry guys.
QuoteTo clarify:

The CD mastering software they used to make the PC-Engine version of Art of Fighting didn't zero out the CD image prior to writing data, and as a result big chunks of unused space from the hard drive of the computer being used were included in the CD image. The data consists of files that had been deleted in the past including many archives of backed-up source code from various projects.

The data files and an extraction program somebody wrote have been around for a few years, but I think nobody found the archive that had the AOF code grouped together specifically until now. Data from AOF and other CD games can be found on this page on the top link, which includes extraction tools to pull out the fragmented LZH and ZIP files:

http://gilgalad.arc-nova.org/vgscr/nectg16.html

Or, you can obtain the ISO for the PC-Engine version of AOF and extract the data directly from there.

The developer of port had the AOF source code as it was a literal line by line port of the original game, the Hu6280 source has the 68000 code in comments and the corresponding 6280 code beneath it.

Looking for any of the to tote joypad converters. If you got one hit me up.

ok - so I bought the PS Vita Limited Edition set - the only problem is the "box" is just terrible. Everytime I opened it up the box started to tear. I looked for something to store all the goodies in, and found that the Neo Geo MVS boxes fit perfect. It does make the box huge, but it stores everything pretty nice. Here is the custom insert I designed for it (just the template, I used an Ys wallpaper) , let me know your thoughts. I could have these professionally printed and possibly sell if there is enough interest.

Ok,

I bought the special edition of Street Fighter IV when it came out for PS3. Then later I decided I wanted to play Street Fighter IV on Xbox 360, so when the Super Street Fighter IV game came out I bought it for that. Then Arcade Edition came out, I bough the DLC version when it was on sale on Xbox Live.I had to get a portable version of this game, so when I got my 3DS I bought SSIV for that too.

Now Ultra Edition is about to come out, if you own SSIV on PS3 or Xbox the upgrade is discounted instead of Standalone. I will probably be a sucker and pick that up.

So in all, I have bought 4 versions of Super Street Fighter IV, and I will most likely buy a 5th version.

Am I the reason that Capcom is still in business?

ok with the recent price drop of the Wii U I was interested in getting this soon. Now the Zelda edition was just released and now I am thinking of getting this.

Cons: the Zelda graphics are only on the Gamepad, not the system. The extras included are digital copies (not physical bonuses).

That said these items are still extras, I own the original Wind Waker and never actually played it. Wouldn't mind playing in HD. And a digital copy of the Hyrule book is still kinda cool.

Who else is thinking of jumping on the bandwagon with this one?

Ok here it goes. I tried out that new Turbografx template with the 8 disc DVD CASES. I wanted to try something different for PCE. After some different ideas I tried 3DS cases. Turns out these fit in perfect with my collection no modding the case for hucards, holds instruction card or just the game no problem.

Note:
The PC Engine template was created based off original PCE designs with some modifications. The TG16 template was used from Phase (EktoPhase's) fantastic 8 Poly design - just applied to the 3DS template:

https://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=5101.0

/xfel.jpg

And the size better matches jewel cases. See for yourself. Between 3DS, DS cases and the 8 disc DVD case, the 3DS case is the thinnest.

QuoteI am making some new custom inserts, curious if someone could scan the Jewel Case insert for Battle Lode Runner?

Really appreciate the help need 300-600 DPI if you can.

Thanks!
ok update, I actually used a low-res image and had to redraw alot of what was there, but I am good. I am in the process of making custom templates for a new case to use with PCE games (more on that soon). I need some scans of the front cover and back cover (if it has one). Prefer to get 300DPI and ideally 600 if you can.  :D

Final Soldier
TAKAHASHI MEIJIN NO SHIN BŌKEN JIMA (New Adventure Island)
Super Star Soldier
PC Genjin 2

Galaga 88 (need cover)
Hit the Ice
SCI

Blue Blink
Super Dodgeball (NEKKETSU KŌKŌ DODGEBALL BU)

Motoroader (US ver)

you help is appreciated, I am making templates for a new case to insert PCE games in (different than the project for TG16). So far turned out really nice.

Also side-note please let me know the color of the spine where its says "HUCARD" want to make sure I color that properly. If it is a case that doesn't have a back cover that is fine then just need front cover.

Some snaps of a work in progress of my NES

Fami Disc expansion sound mod
Stereo mod - with dual pot adjustments
Reset port - used with custom NES advantage (has reset button)
Blue LED

The reset mod is nice to use with Everdrive. The turbobs spoiled me with the soft reset from the controller. Now I have a button on the NES advantage that can reset the system and I don't have to leave the couch. :)

Krikzz has supported Game Genie cheats on many of his flash carts. People have asked if cheats would be possible on the Turbo Everdrive. Krikzz said he could add support but unfortunately a cheat device was never created. Is there any interest out there in developing cheats for games so that Krikzz can support
in a future update? Anyone know how hard that would be to do?

Here is my reasoning - some of the tougher games would be nice to
Have cheats but I mainly want this for my kids so my 4 year old can blow through some platformers. I enabled cheats on my N8 NES Everdrive and my four year old was able to blow through TMNT 2 like it was nothing.
