@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

The hotline server has had some issues, but we are getting the kinks out of it...pcengine-fx.com doesn't run the server, so all I can do is let everyone know the progress.

Hi Shaun,

Any FX game that has the red or orange label shows nudity.  There is no difference in the label colors, it's just that they changed the color for some reason.

PC-FX Discussion / Re: PC-FX Emulator
12/02/2001, 10:29 AM
Actually, the only PC-FX emu that I knew of was FXer, which was being developed by a friend of mine.  I was the co-developer on the project, and I had a section on pcengine-fx.com with lots of info about it.  The project has been long since scrapped due to lack of info about the internal workings of the FX chipset, but we had a lot of things emulated.

I on the other hand have a PC-FXGA PC-9800 dev kit, but don't have the NEC computer to run it, so it's just sitting in my collection...if I had a PC-FXGA DOS/V card back when FXer was being developed, there would have been a emu by now :(

A review would be GREAT...if you can do one, please do, and send it to pcefx@pcengine-fx.com.  I personally like Battle Heat more because it is a faster-paced game than Tengai, but both have their strengths and weaknesses.

PC-FX Discussion / Re: Lack of Reviews
09/17/2001, 08:23 AM
Hi Blaine,

You know, you hit the nail right on the head.  Though there is a fairly large FX community, we are not as "active" as other groups (and understandably so).  I have to admit that I've not tried my best to get reviews up on the site, though I have tried in the past.  All it takes is time, and unfortunately I've not had time to get my own personal reviews on pcengine-fx.com as of yet....  if anyone else can contribute to the FX reviews, please email me at pcefx@pcengine-fx.com.  I will try to work on getting more reviews up in the near future.

Well, that's defiantly one way to look at it http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">   In my view, it wasn't about lazy programmers...they indeed made a lot of quality games for the system, but they were the *wrong* kind of games.  Though the Japanese market welcomes simulation games, the system should have had games like Lords of Thunder or Bomberman...action games!  But it wasn't meant to be unfortunately.

Hey, ANY polygon action game would have been nice!  As for making Thunder Force 5 on the FX...well, I really don't think it could do that many real polys, but they could do sprite-drawn ones like Sapphire....i'm sure it would look good on the FX.

Welcome to this forum. Feel free to talk about the NEC PC-FX system and games, however you MUST follow these rules:

Expected Behavior
The Pcenginefx NEC Console Community Forums is a place to hold civil discussions about the NEC line of video game consoles. Heated debates on the forums are welcome, as long as they abide by the established guidelines (listed below). If an administrator or moderator sees that a thread or poster violates these guidelines, the thread may be closed or deleted, and posters may be permanently or temporarily banned from the forum no matter how long they may have been a member.

Transactions/Deals/Trade Policy
pcengine-fx.com is not responsible for any transaction, deal, auction or otherwise that is posted on this forum.  Please use common sense when dealing with people - ask for references, a web site, eBay feedback, talk on the phone, etc.  People have been scammed before, and though this is unfortunate, it does occur so deal at your own risk.  If a deal does go bad, pcengine-fx.com can ban the username(s) from this board and spread the word to other related Turbo forums/groups about the user, but this is the extent of pcengine-fx.com's participation in the matter.

Language
Sexual, racial, or ethnic slurs will not be tolerated in any form and are bannable on the first offense.  We also recommend that cursing be held to a minimum, as it does not promote civil conversation.  Foul language in the form of insults directed towards other forum members may result in a ban.
> Example violations (including, but not limited to): Referring Japanese people as "Japs".  If you want to talk about the Japanese, then spell it out completely.

Keep posts on topic
By posting in a thread, you are responsible for keeping the thread on topic.  Any reply to a thread may be deleted at any time, and without notice if it is determined that the reply doesn't contribute to the thread.
> Example violations (including, but not limited to): Replying with an image; replying with the words "me too!" or similar; derailing the thread to a topic not related to the original post.

No warez/ISO/ROM/P2P links
Posting or asking for warez/ISOs/ROMs & P2P links is prohibited on the forums and is grounds for a permanent ban.

Hi there,

I've already talked to a few people about doing PC-FX translations, and it IS possible, however a few major things block this from happening.

1. Motivation - there just isn't much demand or insentive to do the work needed to translate a PC-FX game.

2. Hardware/software issues - As you know, currently there isn't even a PC-FX emulator out yet (however we should see one before the end of the year) and there is a great lack of people who know that much about how the PC-FX works, thus making patches for translation that much more difficult.

Thanks for your message there Jon...

One thing after reading your message is that it sounds like you think that pcengine-fx.com is a "letdown".  Running a site as huge as pcengine-fx.com has taken 3/4 of a decade to get to where it is today and I'm always adding content.  I clearly listed those walkthroughs as OFFLINE BTW http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/smile.gif ALT=":)">  ...but for my next PC-FX World update I do plan to make some of those walkthroughs available for download, so watch for them really soon.

How that I got time (on my lunch break) here are exact details on how to get that little icon by your name:

1. Log into ezboard.
2. Go to "edit preferences"
3. Go down to "Personal Icon" and either choose one of ezboard's icons (ie: ezboard.com/ezgfx/gicons/misc_2.gif) or choose one hosted by you, but it must be 10x10.  Then press "Save Changes".

That should be it....LMK if it works for you.

Hi Brazilpce,

To do that you need to go into your ezboard settings to setup up things such as your signature, photo and icon..I can be more exact if you need to but it is in your ezboard account settings.  LMK if you can't still get it to work.
