The problem is that the Shuttle (no matter how modified) could ever go outside Earth's orbit...just wasn't made for that.  Luckily, NASA's Constellation program which is replacing the Shuttle (starting up in 2015) is scalable to meet the needs for Moon missions (in 2020) as well as setting up missions to Mars (2030-2040).

China is also pushing their space program VERY aggressively, which will give the US a kick in the pants again to compete (and give our president a kick in the pants to give NASA the money they desperately need).  There is even a chance that China will land men on the moon before we do in 2020.

Anyway, latest Shuttle update - External tank is now being fueled with a 95% chance of launch tonight at 9:20EDT/6:20PST.

STS-119 (ISS assembly flight 15A) is the next planned space shuttle mission to the International Space Station (ISS), scheduled to be flown by Space Shuttle Discovery. It will deliver and assemble the fourth starboard Integrated Truss Segment (S6), and the fourth set of solar arrays and batteries to the station.

Only 8 more launches until the Shuttle program is shut down in 2010 - watch it online if you've not seen one in a while!

Thanks guys for your responses so far... really makes me think.

I feel like I have a heavy responsibility at least to my TG/PCE/PC-FX collection due to running pcengine-fx.com as I feel it is my job to keep the community going.... and some of the games in my TG collection have been given to me as gifts and I feel a responsibility to keep them as well.

I would probably sell off my Atari/Nintendo/3DO/NeoGeo/Sega/Sony stuff before even touching the TG/PCE/FX stuff but the question I have to ask myself is: Would I regret anything that I sell?...well I know I would.

For example: I once traded 5 rare Neo Geo carts for Zenki for the PC-FX.  I regret that trade to this day...not because of Zenki, but that I didn't pay cash for it and kept the 5 Geo carts.

I also regret selling my Sega Saturn collection many years ago which I had over 30 games that included most of the more rare titles for the console.

When I was younger, I was into gaming so much that I lied, cheated and stealed to get the games/consoles I wanted.  Now that I've grown up... own my own house...married for 5+ years... I really find myself not as much into games as I would like to be and have wondered why I keep my gaming collection when it just sits there taking up space.  I have about 20 various consoles and hundreds of games in a room collecting dust and wanted to know why some of you keep your collection....

Memories?
Nostalgia?
Resell value?

I'm finding myself wanting other things in life these days and although games will always be part of who I am, I'm starting to question why I'm still holding on to my collection.

A long awaited option has now been implemented for the forum - ignore user!  You may now ignore the user direct from a person's post (just hit the "ignore" button below the username in a post) or you can go into your profile and set your ignore preferences there.  Please post here with any issues or comments about this feature.

PS: If you didn't know, you can also ignore a user's PMs if you wish in your profile as well.

Thank you BT and Sparky for answering my question.  If I did sell the game, I'd have to unfortunatly sell it to the highest bidder (as the only reason why I would sell any of my collection would be for money).  This at least gives me an idea.

Rather than push the memory hogging Firefox as a panacea for all web ills, I'll offer a couple of things to try.  First, disable and re-enable tabbed browsing (you'll have to restart IE each time you change this setting).  Next, delete all temporary files, cookies, etc.  As a last resort, try resetting IE to its default settings (found under the advanced tab in options).  Good luck.

I second this.  Erase all temp files cookies etc. and see if it still occurs.  I am a loyal IE user and have never had this issue come up.  Please report back if this fixed your issue or not.

Hey guys - just a note here... if a thread has been locked, please do not re-open the thread for any reason unless you were mistaken in closing it in the first place.  When a thread is initially closed, all it needs is a note saying why it was closed and that's it.  Posting a response after it is closed brings the locked thread back to the top of the forum and I'd rather it die as soon as it is locked the first time.  Thanks!

Reading the thread in that post, the topic didn't go south until Michael posted up the PM from the wife and posted what he said which I agree that he should have been slapped for the post.

It is against the rules to post personal attacks and it seems to happen in the Shoutbox and in the Chit-Chat area the most because of lack of moderation.  I don't have the time to watch or moderate threads (that's why I have mods   and I don't like conflict... but, if there is an issue with someone I want to know about it.

With that being said Joe, I will personally remind Michael about the rules on this forum, but will not ban him at this time.  If he does ANYTHING to you (PM, or post related) please let me know and I will take further action.

WOW... I am very happy how the film is turning out so far (I am 2/3 through the edit)...my primary goal this time around was to create a moving, beautiful work of art and I believe I have succeeded.  New screenshot below:



FYI, the bluish "flare" seen in these shots is intentional (as a "highlight flare").

Hey, get some Novus cleaner. You can get 1&2 and use that,along with a buff cloth and a normal eraser. If you work hard at it you can usually remove light to medium scuffs, or at least make them much less noticeable.

Thanks for the suggestion PCEHell - I tried some things but found out that toothpaste and a bit of scrubbing with a toothbrush cleaned up all of the scuff marks.  I've re-shot the scene with the cleaned up DUO-R and looks much better.
