Thanks for the info. Not a random person fwiw as you alluded too twice. And i'm not lobbying i was curious in case someone had taken it upon themselves to do a translation for either game and i was missing it while searching.

Nazo no masquerade was being translated according to romhacking but was kind of abandoned as far as i can tell.

If anyone else has any thoughts that's cool. Just don't try too hard to read between the lines of my question it really is just that, a question.

Get a duo with an RGB mod.  You won't need a tennokoe and it will play 95% of the entire library.  They are plentiful on ebay or yahoo.jp but I would just contact Keith courage on the boards for a recapped unit in good working order that he can RGB mod for you

I am also crazy paranoid about accidentally infesting my house so everything I get from thrifts and the like goes in the bottom of my freezer for a week or more just to be safe.  We really don't have roach problems out here thank god.

So freezing systems will not harm them?

Don't freeze it.  You might get moisture on the board and moisture is a bad combo with electronics

I'm in the very small minority that prefers the brightness and clarity of no scanlines.  To me, scanlines sort of blur an dull the picture.  I understand the argument of scanlines adding depth to the picture, but like I said, I will trade the depth for more clarity and color pop.  I prefer the turbo because of its incredible color pallette and how the software designers used its capabilities.

Here my question, does 8- versus 16-bit make a difference to your preference for scanlines?  I don't play much 8-bit anymore.

i guess here is where i draw the line:  if someone buys a game CIC (that did originally come with a jewel case) with a new label then sells it later without knowing/disclosing vs someone printing a manual/map and selling it.  i see these as completely different situations.  not in the same category at all of what is acceptable and what is not.

i dont think putting your original manual and original hucard in a donor case and slapping a new label on it is wrong at all.  i guess maybe if someone was trying to pass it off as an "original case" or something it would be deceptive, but i dont ever remember seeing that in a a description.  i also dont see anything wrong with calling it CIC (complete in case for the new folks).

if the game never came with a jewel case and you dont have the box, what are you supposed to do?  just leave the game and manual lying around on the kitchen countertop? 

seriously, if you as a buyer dont know which games came in a jewel case or box/tray only, should you be spending so much money on a video game?  some of this has to be on the buyer doing some due diligence

You could get some good usage out of the tuner kit I think. Get an RCA cable and cut the tip off. Solder a piece of wire to the center lead. Plug the RCA male end into the RF plug on any retro console and attach the other end of the wire to the antenna on the tuner unit.

Boom! Now you can play other game systems on the Turbo Express!

PS - Be careful not to short the antenna wire to ground as some consoles supply a 5V "phantom" supply on the RF pin to power the auto-switches. This 5V "phantom" DC supply may or may not be protected by a shunt resistor so you might want to use caustion. You could also try hooking the console to an old pair of rabbit ears but you're unlikely to get more than a couple feet of reception without an RF amp.

First, you know you can just buy a composite to 3.5mm cable, right?

Second, why would you want to play a home console on a tiny first gen lcd screen?
