Quote from: SignOfZeta on 05/24/2016, 04:06 PMIs this for one of those YouTube background brag piece rooms or do you actually play this stuff? I ask because you can't play more than one system at the same time and from my experience all SCART switchers are shit so the solution is really simple. There is nothing wrong with your system, sell the switcher to some collectard. All my consoles (which is only 6) are hooked up directly to the tv. It would drive me nuts if I had to dig out the ac adapter, AV Cable, and other shit every time I wanted to play something.
Quote from: TheAlphaOmegaX3 on 05/20/2016, 01:07 PMThank you all for your input guys. Great advice. Very grateful.Damn, this is genuine graciousness. We don't get much of that around here.
Quote from: TheAlphaOmegaX3 on 05/19/2016, 08:55 PMOk. Might sound odd, but I try not to use ebay to determine price too much. Ya its loose so $60 sounds high.Yes, this does sound odd. I've seen this type of post many times and I fail to understand the logic.

Quote from: guest on 04/26/2016, 10:03 PMIt's was a dumb luck find because he was on a job site cleaning out a warehouse and was told to trash everything. There was a pallet of sealed game cases in the warehouse and he decided to keep them.well i agree that part was total luck, but that was just the pre-1990 stuff. most of the really valuable stuff came post-90 (other than Stadium Events... which had its own circumstances why its so rare). again, i see him more as just a hard core collector who did it for a very long time. if you do this stuff long enough, a little luck will come your way eventually
Quote from: Clacker on 04/17/2016, 11:35 AMWow, those are some beautiful looking cards. That must have been a huge undertaking. I can't imagine how much the mold for the plastic must have cost.Just guessing here but I think these are PCBs with a custom white solder mask, not plastic.

Quote from: guest on 02/24/2016, 11:58 AMI like PC Engine style cases with manual and HuCard. I also like uniformity. So for pre-TTi releases that I didn't have cases for, I put Sparky labels on spare cases. Mostly damaged or super common/cheap game cases. For the rest which never came with cases, I use Aaron's 3D printed cases with Sparky labels. For missing manuals, I print out the front/back cover and fold it in half. To keep things consistent and games clean and to not worry about keeping track of original sleeves, I'm only using Seymor's new sleeves. This describes my approach exactly (accept for the MC part).
I have a couple CD games without original tray liner/inserts. But I feel the same about having PC Engine style games on cases, so I'm not realky concerned about cardboard boxes. I have several boxes, mostly from sealed games I've opened, but do not have plans to collect 'em all.
I'm planning on organizing my Turbo games and keeping TurboChips in cases soon. For the past 30'ish years though, I've kept HuCards loose in stacks for the most part. I couldn't tell you at any given time where Magical Chase is, only that it's definitely slevveless on a stack somewhere.
Quote from: Medic_wheat on 02/23/2016, 03:59 PMsounds like you are right where you are supposed to be. i hope there are guys like you still around in 4 years when i finally turn in my wings. cheers!Quote from: Joe Redifer on 02/23/2016, 03:40 PMI honestly do enjoy it. Many of my co workes including my mentor verbally declared their hatred for their job.Quote from: Medic_wheat on 02/21/2016, 10:14 PMWhen you have a government job and the old color you have on is around your neck lol.You have a government job? I hope that you enjoy it. Most people I encounter who work for the government seem to hate their jobs... and possibly their lives.
But where I currently am at in my career is exactly where I wanted to be since 2008. Why that date? I did an internship with the VA's VR&E program in my home town. I was elated to learn that in my chosen area of study I could potentially work with fellow Veterans and help them towards employment services.
I imminently signed up for graduate studies in psychology and graduated quickly. I would have graduated on May 2009 BUT I ended up being deployed to Iraq once again. It was my last deployment prior to my 8 year contract ending.
I then worked for the state of Texas as a VR Counselor for three years upon graduation with the end goal to obtain a VA position in the same field.
Last May I achieved that goal and have been employed as a GS-11. This coming May I will be off my one year probation and jump to a GS-12 pay grade.
I know many here take slight jabs at my posting. Spelling and so forth. I have and could explain how my ramblings of incoherent dribble could constitute myself as to holding a degree let alone multiple degrees from a University. However unless someone truly wants to know I'll refrain from at this time.
To answer your initial question. Yes. I enjoy my job as I am able to continue serving fellow Veterans with their rehabilitation to civilian life and employment.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed as my job feels like quick sand when I feel have to many loose ends to tie up. I mean heck on averages I meet with 4-5 new Veterans applying for benefits where entitlement determination and die processes is needed the same day I met with them. On top of the 163 Veterans currently on my case load. 1/3 who require monthly contact face to face and the rest every six months.
This is not to mention the amount of money and goods that are delt with daily who Veterans attending training hat need to be authorized verified and submitted.
However these are simply aspects of the job that does not include the psych social and therapeutic counseling I proved my Veterans for a 45 minute to an hour or longer session.
I have had on one day a Veteran threaten to find my home of residence and kill me then another Veteran offer me weed "the hook up" imminently after ending the threat of violence. (Of which security was involved he was found to be carrying a K Bar and he is now required to be escorted on and off this facility. Oh and I closed his case as he was clearly not compliant with MH Treatment and was not feasible for employment services.
Then there was the Veteran I meet with today for application. Great guy. We Rouen out we where in the same part of Iraq the same year (he was EOD Navy). Turns out we both go to the same TBI clinic as well. Granted my two instances of experiencing a TBI pail in comparison to his. He was breath and clearing a home made bomb lab that went off as his team entered. I at lest got to be in a vehicle that cushioned my decent back to earth when the IED went off under my butt.
Quote from: schweaty on 02/21/2016, 12:00 AMi havent played this in a while. i seem to remember having no problems at all when i played it on my TGCD unit, but when i try it on just my standard deck i am not getting the extra heart container on the other side of the pyramid (the chest is empty) and its not even showing me the continue code when i die. what am i missing here? does it have something to do with playing it without a built in save feature?Figured it out: in my haste, i neglected to grab the second heart container in town. if you dont get that heart first, the chest on the other side of the pyramid will be empty. the more you know...
