Initially, I found the word filter in the shoutbox amusing, in a positive way. I added it to the March idiot poll, cause I knew the filter wouldn't be everybody's cup of tea.
When it was applied on the whole forum, it overstayed it's welcome pretty fast, though. It made more harm than the initial cause of the problem that it was designed for.

You are not the target audience for this video. You neither have that laptop computer, nor you have the need for replacing the HDD within that device.
At least you can do the assembly by yourself within that 22 minutes leisurely WHILE watching the video. Instead of having to reach for the TV remote, tablet, whatever, and pause it for every step.
Also, if that video or similar ones wouldn't exist, I would have to go by trial and error, which means more wasted time than just the length of the video.
One thing I have to thank Dell is, even if they crammed the HDD deep into the Vostro 3360's guts, they made it somewhat simple to disassemble and rebuild the computer. I had to deal with 3 types of screws, which were easy to discern, and one of the types (M2.5x5) were even referenced on the components . The keyboard was simple to remove. The flat ribbon cables plug into connectors with flip-tops to hold them in place. Removing the top base plate was even more simple than shown in the video. It also helps that the body is mostly metal.
The last Sony Vaio laptop (standard size) I repaired was a nightmare of plastic hooks that need to be pryed apart in many places simultaneously.

Time to fire up this old thread.
I just retrofitted my Dell Vostro 3360 with a 500 GB Samsung SSD. This computer has been upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10.
Usually, this is not a big deal with toda Ys (fuck PCEFX forum's autocorrection) computers. However, for me, it wasn't as easy, since there's no dedicated drive bay accessible from the outside on this ultrabook sized laptop computer.
What I did:
1. Bought a Samsung SSD.
2. Bought a USB 3.0 to S-ATA cable.
3. Attached the SSD to my computer using that cable.
4. Downloaded and installed Samsung Data Migration for Windows.
5. Cloned my internal 320 GB HDD to the 500 GB SSD using the Samsung software. Took about 2-3 hours.
6. Shut down.
7. Disassembled the computer to replace the internal HDD with the SSD, using this video guide:8. Reassembled the computer.
9. DONE! Windows 7, 8 and 10 will recognize SSDs automatically and configure the system accordingly.

I also got Mega Man 10 (Wii Ware), Space Harrier (Arcade), Pokémon Snap (N64) and Harvest Moon (SNES).
Space Harrier allows for a wide variety of control schemes via D-pad, analog stick and even motion controls using the Wii Nunchuk. Good thing there's a menu option to reverse the Y-axis as well as a button for feeding the machine with credits until you get fed up with the trademark Space Harrier "Aaaaaaaargh!" scream.

I can vouch for Paul's PC Engine books as well.
I don't think the HG101 books are amateurish, but each to his own. I agree that they might not be everybodies cup of tea, and there's of course a lot of recycled content from the website, with some unique articles thrown in not to be found somewhere else (this is especially true for the Adventure game book which has a lot of original content).
Still, thanks to them going more in-depth, they leave a better impression to me than so many other glossy wanna-be videogame books.
This book made me try games I haven't heard of or wouldn't have considered playing them before:

All the "HG101 presents" books so far. Even the thicc b/w book titled "Classic Adventure Games".
Then, there's Gameplan's "The Encyclopedia of Game Machines - Consoles, handheld & home computers 1972-2012".

For those living in Europe: The Wii Virtual Console lineup of Master System, Mega Drive and NES games should be avoided. Those releases often contain the old PAL roms and thus run at 5/6 gameplay speed, squished with black horizontal bars and, for the earlier releases on these systems, even with 5/6 speed BGM.
For SNES and above, the games offered on VC are either old roms that had already been optimized for PAL back in the day when they were available on cartridge, with improved gameplay speed, less bars and correct BGM speed. Or just straight NTSC roms that run at 60 Hz no matter what (all TurboGrafx-16/PCE games).
E.g.:
Castlevania (NES): 5/6 gameplay speed, squished with horizontal bars, 5/6 BGM
Castlevania III (NES): 5/6 gameplay speed, squished with horizontal bars, correct BGM speed
Super Castlevania IV (SNES): Improved gameplay speed, slight bars, correct BGM speed

Regarding the "M" designation, what I meant is that I see shops on the web advertising their 2 mm tapping screws with "M2", even if you can clearly see from the product pictures that these aren't machine screws. Especially those shops that aren't familiar with metric sizes.

The head diameter may differ even visibly slightly from manufacturer to manufacturer, but shouldn't concern you too much.
The thread pitch is determined by the screw diameter type. A 2 mm self tapper for plastic will always have the same pitch, regardless of manufacturer or year.
Don't mix up M2 and 2 mm, like so many shops do unfortunately.
The "M" stands for ISO metric machine screw thread. Machine screws with their fine pitch are not meant for threading into plastic threads, they are only meant to screw into metal threads. Still, you CAN try machine screws at your own risk.
If you've got trouble finding suitable 2.4 mm screws (do these exist?), you might get away using 3 mm screws IF you slightly enlarge the plastic thread hole to something like, let's say, 2.5 mm, beforehand. A fine pin vise helps with carefully drilling into plastic. Also make sure the head will still fit.
I had to replace all the case screws on the bottom of my Turbo Duo with 3 mm Tamiya screws, since the previous owner already replaced the original screws with some others of the wrong type, and had stripped the holes due to repeated assembly. With the screws I chose, I was able to cure the problem.
