12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

ROBOCOP!

Man, I just LOVED Robocop when I was a kid, and I still like him alot to this day, and every once in a while, I will be highly fixated with him, and I think I'm having one of those times right now, because I've bought the soundtrack album, planning to get the 20th Anniversary DVD, which I didn't even know was out, playing the NES and Arcade game, man, Robo is just so awesome and badass! DEAD OR ALIVE, YOU'RE COMING WITH ME!!!!!

Which car would you rather have: the 6000 SUX or the Taurus SHO?  I'd like an SHO, even though it's not An American Tradition with 8.2 M.P.G.  :)

Quote from: turbo D on 03/06/2008, 04:40 PMthe nes game was a must back in the day  8)
Back in the day in my home town the main game rental store imported a ton of official and/or pirate Famicom games and the Robocop cart had all the cheats printed on the back.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Turbo D

thats awesome! I could have used those cheats back then, haha.

This movie gave me nightmares when it was first released because of all of the gore... for one night.  The next day I was laughing at the gore.

PCEngineHell

Buy the new 2 disc release of part 1,its pretty fuckin nice.

I loved the movie but i hated the nes game sorry man.

When ya play robocop in the arcades and then play the,NES version it feels like a such a water downed version of the game.

I fire up the arcade version once in a while in mame good stuff there.

I saw the PS2 version of robocop today, which suprised me; didn't think anyone still cared.

I immediately thought of this thread, of course.

I always saw Robocop as a critique of capitalism... I'm probably a leftist now because of the movie.

Ahhh there's no better way to steal money than free enterprise!

That game sucks, and so does the X-Box version. Steer clear of it as far as you can.
The game play sucks, and the graphics are ass.
As for anyone still caring, the people that made that game apparently don't.

Ceti Alpha

My favourite part of that movie was when the radio-active man gets splattered all over the car. lol  8) The most disturbing scene is near the beginning when our hero gets killed.

Kids can also be crazy. When I watched that scene for the first time in a long time some years ago, I was blown away by how evil and gorey it was. It was quite awesome 8) . God they just don't make movies like they used to, can you imagine if they added CG for something like that?

The Robocop 1-3 set has the Dir cut,and the new 2 disc set of part 1 has it also with new extras. The Criterion isn't as needed now because of this.

Tatsujin

criterion ed. = ultimate "unnecessary" violation exposure = true robocop

part two was still very OK, also thanx to tom noonan in his excellent character role as cain.

part 3 = teh big FAIL!!

Quotei loved how the first movie was as serious as possible. The second one was more graphic but also leaned more towards the sci-fi category, number 3 was easily the worst of the trilogy, with a dumbed down story line and a PG-13 rating.
The first movie is a classic. The second was pushing it a little, but still watchable. I don't even remember the third installment except that someone else was playing Murphy/Robocop.

Ceti, re-reading the thread... I couldn't figure out who you quoted here....  8-[ :?:

Anyway, I didn't see the story in Robocop 3 as being dumbed down back when I saw it... Maybe that's true, but I think that number 3's problems are more on the emotional side.

There were way too many new actors... having a new actor for Robocop killed the movie emotionally for me... or maybe it was just the storytelling.

There were far too many cheesy moments too.... like the ED-209 puppy scene.

In the first movie, ED-209 was something to be feared, even though by the end of the movie Robocop was able to make short work of him... In the second two, he was used more for comic relief.

Was it just me or did the mercenaries that Robocop was fighting against in Robocop 3 make no use at all of ED-209 in their field operations? A shortcoming of both Robocop 2 and 3 was that I don't remember seeing a Robocop vs ED-209 fight scene...

I would love to see a Robocop 4... there is so much political material with the Bush administration that could be used to criticize the links between the US Government, Big Business, and widespread human suffering that were such important themes of the first film.

Gotta get the original actors, though. And they gotta get ED-209 in there making his presence felt.

Yeah, I've been noticing that when I quote someone it doesn't say who it's from.  :-k How do I make quotes that actually say who the quote is from?

As for your penchant for anonymous quoting... Try using the script: {quote="Rag-time4"][/quote]
Or just use the quote button on a thread, or you can click the "insert quote" link at the bottom of the page that lists the several most recent posts in a thread.

That is a robot and not a cyborg so it is ineligible in any cyborg on cyborg fighting tournament

Kitsunexus

Cyborgs are stupid fantasies by fools who truly believe the human portions of a cyborg enhance the machine portions, and vice versa.

Robots transcend humans and are perfect.

And before you say "OMGWTFBBQ T-1000 ED209", I will not accept any form of human written fiction as a rebuttal to my argument. All rebuttals must be written by cyborgs or robots.

This greatly increases the chances that you will not argue my points.
