Just picked up an avenue pad 6 button controller to use with fatal fury special. I am having a problem configuring the controller to work with the game. If I go to configure in the options menu, its only  letting me change the run, select, and I & II buttons only. Its not giving me the option to configure the other buttons on the avenue pad. The manual is no help since its in Japanese. Please somebody help [-o<

A-B Switch.   A = 2 button mode.   B = 6 button mode.

How can someone miss the A/B switch?

It regularly comes up. Not often, but it does. The six button pads do introduce a bunch of new buttons, so I'm not surprised that people don't figure it out right away.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Thanks Black tiger & super deadite. I was switching the a/b and was not getting any results. This is my first avenue pad so take it easy Knight warrior. Next time try posting something useful to increase your post count. Thanks.

I had the same issues at first.  Not knowing the settings and all.  I ended up getting rid of my Ave. 3 and 6 though.  I just didn't like the feel of em, and they feel....cheaper?  Not sure if that is the word I am looking to use.

I had a similar experience too.  When I got my first ave 6 pad the A/B switch broke during shipping.   I had to open up the controller and glue the plastic switch back.

You might want to try opening up the controller, check and clean the contacts on the A/B switch.

I believe Street Fighter 2 will let you switch on the fly, but the other Arcade Cd titles I think required the switch be flipped before the actual game is loaded. I could be wrong on that though, thats just how I seem to remember it being for that game pad.

Yeah, I'd try that, have the controller switched to mode B with the system off, turn it on, boot the game, see what happens, etc.
