I have been thinking about building or modding an arcade stick to use with PC-engine. The same stick should also work for Super Famicom. Those are the two systems it must be compatible with, various other systems would be a nice bonus.
I already have an extra Mad Katz Tournament Edition fightstick for PS3 gathering dust, the project should be based around that. I have 3 main concerns: lag, compatibility and price.

The most obvious solution for me would be a padhack based around PS1 controller and using various adapters from Tototek. I have understood that those adapters add next to no lag. They have a wide selection of them each priced at $20, so for $40 (+shipping) I could build a stick with support for PSX, PCE and SFC. And there would be an option to add more adapters in the future, like MD and Saturn. Button mappings seem sensible too. Are there any reasons why this might not be a good idea?

The other option would be to use one of those multi-PCBs, but I have some concerns about the lag and compatibility. Since I really only need PCE and SFC the padhack seems simpler.

Ok, so my inner collectard is taking over and I'm trying to get a complete Hudson Hucard set.
I have had the 1943 Kai for sometime now, I really like the game and have beaten it few times but I think I'm done with it. Not that I like to part with it. Its in a very good condition and picture are naturally available.
I'm looking to trade it for either Raiden or Ninja Gaiden, the two high ticket games I'm missing. I'm not sure about exact market values but I think the games I'm looking might be more valuable. So depending on the situation I could add some money to the trade.

I have been for some time now interested in PC-Engine Hucard sportgames. Hucards because thats what I collect and play and sports games because they tend to get overlooked and can be very cheap, and some of them are really good fun.
Since sport games can be bit obscure and the library can be overwhelming I made a list of Hucard sport games for myself in order to get a better understanding of the library. I thought why not share it here, maybe someone can get some use from it. These are only Japanese PC-Engine releases. I'm sure there are games I have overlooked so feel free to fill in the blanks.

Having read the Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania comparison threads I was inspired to start another one. I think this one is very interesting since the game engine (or how the game plays) is pretty much identical, even the music and graphics are the same although slightly enhanced for PC-Engine. No problems with scrolling like in the Ninja Gaiden.
I grew up with the NES and Nintendo World Cup so I know that game inside and out. To my suprise I was able to beat the Nekkutsu Koko Soccer in one sitting without much sweat. Pretty much every trick I learned as a kid with the NES game I was able to pull off. I'm aware that the Nintendo World Cup was a reskin of Nekkutsu High School Soccer for Famicom but I really I think that the world cup theme adds a lot of flavour. In today's perspective slightly offensive national stereotypes, the intermission tunes/pictures etc.
I don't have the Famicom cart so I wonder if the PC engine game is just a remaster of that or continuing the story where the Famicom game ended, not that it matters unless you can read japanese.

I have never really liked the other Nekkutse games but both these football games are just blast to play.

I encountered the following strange problem with PC Genjin 2 hucard.
The game loads fine, doesn't freeze, music/sound are normal, menus are all as they should be but when I start the game and load the first level graphics are all corrupted. Sound effects and music are still fine and the game doesn't freeze but graphics are all over the place.

Needless to say I have cleaned the contacts multiple times (on the console aswell). I'm using the original white PC-Engine system with a makeshift AV-cable connected to the expansion port. Could that AV-cable be the cause of the problem? Every other Hucard (over 50) in my collection plays fine.
Unfortunally I don't have any other system to try it on.

I bought the game online like 6 months ago, I was very busy at the time so I didn't have time to play it and stupidly tested it just briefly to see that it booted fine.

Any suggestions?
