RIP to BT Garner of MindRec.com... He passed away early 2023 from health problems. BT was one of the top PCE homebrew developers and founder of the OG Turbo List, then PCECP.com. Condolences to family and friends. |
Quote from: Deletion on 12/13/2011, 12:32 AMHi all,
I recently started collecting for the PC Engine and now I'm here to learn more about the systems and games. The first time I laid hands on a TurboGrafx-16 was in '92 where I played Bonk's Adventure for all of 5 minutes. 19 agonizingly long years went by without any PCE goodness until I finally got a system of my own a few months ago. I picked up a TG16 and 5 games (Alien Crush, J.J. & Jeff, Legendary Axe, Legendary Axe II, and Vigilante) and everything was in very good shape. Prior to this, the only thing I owned was a 10-minute TG16 promotional video on VHS (which is still in mint condition).
I love how many iterations and form factors there are of the PC Engine and it's going to be so much fun growing my collection. With that said, I have perhaps the sexiest combo on its way from Japan: a CoreGrafx II & Super CD-ROM2 . It should arrive next week. Until then I'll while away the time reading through the forum and watching PCE-related videos on YouTube (futurematt5, if you read this, your videos are superb).
Thanks for reading and I look forward to being an active member.
Quote from: Deletion on 04/09/2012, 01:12 AMI had a ton of fun and saw a lot of stuff. On Saturday evening I watched the Retrogame Roadshow, in which attendees brought their valuable games and collectibles to be discussed and valued by a panel of experts. I got a little bit of swag and bought one item: a Qanba 4 arcade stick that is compatible with the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. I didn't wait in any lines to play demos but I did take a lot of photos.
