10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Quote from: guest on 09/21/2017, 09:43 AMI like 'em when they're well done and awarded for doing things that take skill or as a reward for playing the game long enough (beat the game with all character classes, kill x number of enemies, etc.), but too many games are filled with dozens and dozens of trophies for stupid shit.
exactly. Like heres a trophy for simply playing 10 minutes of the game.

Got Ys VIII a few days ago. Finally get to play tonight

So i caught one of my favorite streamers (Macaw) playing this game last night and it looks pretty cool. Looks like they reached their kickstarter goal. So looking forward to playing this one

You guys feel better soon. Willing to wait until its ready.

Quote from: Gypsy on 09/08/2017, 06:35 PMEternal is pretty much cheaper Magic. Hex is also pretty good.
Thats exactly why I like Eternal. I love to draft, but dropping $10+ a draft adds up real quick. The fact that Eternal is digital only allows them to use mechanics that magic cannot.

Hex is something i may try out. I remember hearing about it a few years ago. Its getting a ps4 release as well. Would you consider Eternal better than Hex?
#16
This is ridiculous. They could have at least given the collectards Turbo edition.
#17
Playing Ys IV right now. Getting ready for this
#18
PCE:
Ys IV - Just beat the fire armor boss. Pretty neat that the music sounds like like an Ygnwie Malmsteen song

PC/Iphone:
Eternal - Its a digital card game, a la Hearthstone, but its way more similar to Magic. Thats what i like about it. I love drafting, but MTGO is a shitty program and it cost a lot to draft daily. Eternal allows you to grind for gold, and i've been playing the game for a few weeks now and have only paid $10. Ive drafted at least 10 times already.

Still dont know why this isn't being released on the Switch, what with the Mana collection on the console. Just weird.

Quote from: BigusSchmuck on 03/25/2015, 09:58 AMI'm pretty sure everyone knows the Ys4 boss music is almost directly ripped from Far Beyond The Sun - Yngwie Malmsteen.
Didn't know about this until last night while i was playing Ys IV. Its spot on Malmsteen, and fits right in. I wonder what his thoughts are on it

Zelda BOTW - only a few hours in so far. Havent had a whole lot of time, but really enjoying the open world
VOEZ - fun rhythm based game. This can only be played in non docked mode as it uses touch controls
SnipperClips - Playing this with the Wife, and its a lotta  fun

PS4:
KOF XIV - just playing from time to time. Have a tournament this weekend (probably wont do well)

Sega CD:
Snatcher - I'm streaming this one, and usually play on the weekends. I have been busy the past 2 weekends. So ive taken a little break. Should be able to play some more on Sunday. If you guys care to watch, follow me on twitch

ps4:
Nioh - about 15 hours in. Loving the game so far. The combat is really nice. Kusurigama, and poison is what i use to take down my foes.

DS:
barnyard blast - a decent action platformer, that could have been a good game if it had some polish.

So I'm on a journey to work through some of my backlog this year and attempt to complete 50 games. I would like to stream/record some of these gameplay sessions, but i currently don't have the extra funds to get a framemiester (or like device) to capture my older consoles. So I'm just going to emulate stuff.
Since its been a very very long time since of played with emulators. What are some of the better options out there?

Mind you I am using a PC that i have put custom firmware on the video card so i can display the PC on my PVM. Right now its just being used as a groovyMAME set up. But would like to run emulators for older consoles as well TG16,PCE,MD,SNES, and Sega CD to name a few.

Quote from: munchiaz on 01/23/2017, 10:32 AMSo this year I'm trying to kill some of the backlog so i decided to challenge myself, and attempt to complete 50 games this year. I'm in the process of moving right now, so I won't have my consoles set up until February, but i have my 3DS handy, and I completed the first game this weekend, Cave Story.

I plan on streaming some of the games, and posting playthroughs on my youtube channel, if people care to check it out.

last time i purchased TG-16/PCE games was when I went to Japan in October of 2015. The allure of finding good deals in the states is pretty much dead at this point. I just dont want to put forth the time and effort to try and find deals for games on a console that is considered rare and highly sought after. I have a decent set of games, and a everdrive so i'm set on anything i want to play

another awesome turbo art display.

is the PC duo-r still up for sale?
