Will the boards work in any tg/pce?  If so they would be great for a core grafx so you wouldn't have to drill any holes.  I'd be interested in picking one up when there ready.

Wow, this is pretty awesome.

I can definitely solder on a new din port.  Just pm me if you want me to.

Could you take a picture of the inside? I could probably resolder a port on it if all the components are still there.

That's awesome elabit.  I've always wanted an Astro City cabinet.

Quote from: gtsamour on 04/04/2011, 04:46 AMwhy dont you just remove the rust with some abrassive paper, make it clean and shiny again and keep it in place? It may not be soldered on anything but when the system is assembled and closed, it touches the board's ground.
That is what I ended up doing  :D  It took longer then I thought, there was more rust than it seemed...  Oh well, everything is in working order now.

Its definitely not the heatsink.  It covers the bottom of the board, not soldered on or anything. My white pc engine doesn't have one so im not sure if its necessary.  I could take pictures later when I get home.  I just don't want the rust to spread to the board.  There was a little corrosion on the board but I cleaned it up and everything works fine.

So I recently got me a Core Grafx II  :D But when I opened it up the metal plate on the bottom was pretty rusty.  The system works fine and there is no damage to the board.  I was wondering if that plate was necessary, and if I could just remove it without any heat issues. Any replies are appreciated.

That guy always overprices crap.  Check this out posted on Sega-16 http://www.sega-16.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10352&highlight=rpgarcana.  I've never bought from him personally so all I can really say is that everything he sells is really expensive.

Quote from: BlueBMW on 03/09/2011, 10:15 PMI have no idea what happened to that door lol.   If I get this system fixed up, I'll probably have the shell professionally repainted.  The system has a region mod, RGB mod, and svideo / a/v jacks on the back.  So its worth trying to repair :D
You could always Retr0bright it :)

Bummer.
Yea, I'm gonna give it a shot though.  I'm not to bad at soldering.  I'll post results after I get the parts.

I checked retro zone.  They only sell kits like this: http://www.retrousb.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=51
I might get this and make my own usb connector.

Is it possible to use any of the turbografx, pcengine controllers on a computer?
#18
Hey everyone, so ApolloBoy tried to fix my turboexpress and could not get it going.  I was wondering if anyone else would be willing to look at it and see if they could do anything.

Final Fantays X was one of my favorite final fantasy's.  My first Final Fantasy was Final Fantasy Tactics and still remains as one of my favorite games.  As for X-2, I watched the opening scene and turned off the game.  Couldn't stand it.  I don't think I will ever play through that game.

I am the proud owner of a PC Engine Duo-R.  I have it modded to play any region Hu cards and it has purple/blue leds.  It is AWESOME.  I was gonna post pics but my camera is dead.  I just wanted this to be my first post.
