The only game I ever regretted trading in was Harvest Moon on the Snes. I do regret trading away boxes for MegaMan 2-6 only because I learned later that the dude I traded them to is a selfish jerk.

I 100%'ed this game around Christmas of last year. I never figured out how to do Maria's move demonstrated in the special video though. I didn't have too much trouble with the Minotaur but the Boss rush part took me quite a while.

Looking forward to weekly episodes. I just can't enough of Dave!

Is it possible the guy didn't actually get a deal? A lot of people like to talk about epic scores for some meaningless collectard rep.
#356
Pat is always talking down on people who do let's plays because they don't require and talent.

I was really shocked to find this at a church garage sale/fund raiser:

I like to watch Pat but its funny how off or clueless he is on some things. On one video he was talking about Razer buying Ouya, and he was like don't they make scooters. I've never bought a Razer product but I  thought most people with any interested in gaming at least knew they made PC peripherals.

Since this seems to be a thread for just about anything I just want to say I'm glad I stay out of fighting street what a mess. Also I work shift work so I'll scan the forum off and on when I'm on the graveyard shift. I've never been a frequent poster though.

I might be mistaken but I think that writing to flash over and over is what wears it down. Standard flash memory that is designated as read only should have a pretty freaking long life.

I picked up a few things while in Austin last weekend. I finally found Neutopia at a reasonable price. Can't upload a pic for some reason.
Edit: is there a forum picture limit?  Tapatalk says the upload folder is full.

Well that Shadowhawk guy sued those repro people. I doubt there was very much money in that. Perhaps there is a chance Konami will do something.

Quote from: esteban on 07/19/2015, 08:18 PMPlease do some more episodes in the Craig Stadler vein. :)
Stadler was only briefly in his game segment and the ending. Maybe that's what we should have done here is just confine him to the end somehow because the ending worked pretty well.

Quote from: GentleGamerNext time, get Pat Contri.
Please, no.

Quote from: guestI think the show has a better chance of getting Pat Riley at this point
Hell yeah I'd have Pat Riley on. Make fun of his sweet basketball game.
While you're selecting Pats to be on your show just go straight for the man himself.

This device is just getting more and more absurd lol.

I think efforts like this are just a misunderstanding of why people like retro games. Cartridges are not better, physical releases for games isn't better. That being said I love reading manuals, and especially looking at the artwork for those that have it. I'd rather my money go toward including a nice little story book for a game and a code for a download rather than a cart which amounts to a USB drive in a fat case.

I just finished watching cyber core and valis 4 great videos as usual!

Quote from: technozombie on 07/01/2015, 10:35 AMKind of weird that the PC physical release is only in Europe. If they are going to make it why not sell it in multiple regions.
Their distribution agreement with Steam prevents it maybe?
I never thought about steam having deals like that but I guess they probably do.

linky
There's a lot of complaints in the comments about it not coming to Vita, to which I agree.  I'd buy it if it were on Vita anyway.
Is it available as a digital download on Vita? They should make it where if you buy the PS4 version you could play it on both systems, win/win.

Chrono Cross really shouldn't have been shoe horned in as a sequel to Chrono Trigger, but taken on its own merits it is a really good game. A true sequel to Chrono Trigger would be difficult to pull off, perhaps Lavos could have had a creator that now comes to earth, pissed you killed its creation. Actually, that idea sounds like something out of Dragon Ball Z, which would be appropriate.

Dreamcasts can read cd-rs.
True, I usually try to avoid that, but I think this case would warrant it.

A PCE port of this game would be cool as I never beat it. Everything was too samey looking and I got frustrated with it. I was thinking that Metroid 2 was one of the games that had enhanced color when used on the gameboy color but I was wrong. I did find this interesting piece of info on the wiki though.

"Nintendo R&D1 was also involved in developing the Game Boy Color, an upgrade to the original Game Boy with a color screen. Nintendo of America's Dan Owsen noted that Nintendo R&D1 included a special "Metroid palette" in the Game Boy Color's hardware, which "makes Metroid II look really, really nice on Game Boy Color", remarking that this made the game's graphics comparable to the original Metroid on the Nintendo Entertainment System"

Yeah thanks very much, I've found it very useful for adjusting some RGB to component as well as my TV.

Quote from: esteban on 05/26/2015, 04:45 PMI bash Super Air Zonk, but I love reading/watching folks who defend it because I am slowly warming up to it. The simple fact is that I was disappointed by it many, many years ago and it's taken me a long time to forgive and start the healing process.
I first played it on virtual console maybe 7 or 8 years ago and was flabbergasted at how much slower paced of a game it was than the first game. I had convinced my self that the game was as bad of a shame on its franchse as Chrono Cross was to Chrono Trigger, that Lunar: Dragon Song was to the Lunar series, or what Rainbow Cotton was to the Cotton series.

Eventually though, I got a copy for a fair price and... after having more time to sit and play it.. I like it. It's nowhere near as good as the first game, but it's an excellent title and a well above average shooter. There's a decent amount of variety to the levels. The graphics are good, the music is pleasant (I still prefer the music in the first game). It's far more lazy in terms of design, this isn't a bad game at all.
Sorry to go off topic here but Chrono Cross was awesome. And, Technozombie out........

Wild Arms was a great game. I pop it in every now and then just to here the theme music.
