@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Would Northampton have been your biggest local town?

Around 1991/92 time I went to visit my cousin who lived in a village just outside Northampton. We took the bus into Northampton town and he took me to a game shop that I'm pretty sure had imports, memory of it is very foggy. Also remember going to Games Workshop and a model shop and looking at the Tamiya RC cars, they were big back then.
Depending which way I went on the bus, either Northampton, Milton Keynes or Peterborough. They were all a bit of a trek though, and seeing as I was just a kid then I doubt I couldve convinced my parents to take me  :-({|=

Nope, I missed that too. Clearly I need to pay more attention next time.

I was kinda hoping to see less mainstream games on offer as I was looking to play something new. Still, I had fun.

The anti-spambot authentication thingy should go away after ten or twenty posts.
Nice to know, thanks

Damn.

On behalf of TG-16, I apologize.
Well, I almost lost faith momentarily, but having Blazing Lazers made up for all the hurt.

Thanks for the welcome all!

Reading about all these independent shops you used to be able buy games at in London is super interesting. I didn't grow up around these parts, but I live in London now, and it's really sad how all the old haunts and arcades have basically all shut up shop.

Hi all,

Been a lurker here for a little while, but I decided it was time to dive in and join the conversation!

Some people may recognise me from Racketboy and/or the Backloggery, where I'm fairly active.

I'm fairly new to Turbo/PCE collecting - I was introduced to the system through Virtual Console back when the Wii was pretty new, and although I picked up a PAL TG16 after being influenced by the quality of Lords of Thunder and Air Zonk on VC, I only had a few games for the thing - Blazing Lazers (excellent stuff), Fantasy Zone (pretty great) and TV Sports Basketball (Not so great...).

I'd never really bought more back when due to the high prices of TG16 games here in the UK (if only Id known how much worse they would get...) but last year I decided I was overdue on some PCE goodness, and I got given my shiny new (old) PC Engine Duo R for Christmas last year.

I figure with a system that's a bit less talked about like the PCE, the best place to come for recommendations and tips would be a dedicated forum like this, so thanks for having me!

ps. do I have to type in the authentication code every time I make a post?

Aw man, I was at MAGFest and missed this too. I was actually wandering the console room looking for PC Engine/Turbografx stuff, or at least something besides Nintendo/Sega/Playstation stuff I've played a million times before.

If I head back next year I'll definitely be sure to explore more thoroughly  :)
