I prefer to do money order on this, but if you send me paypal please add 4% to the total.

Up for sale is a MSX2+ Panasonic FS-A1FX computer, all fixed and working great. - $130 shipped.

Price includes USPS Priority with tracking + insurance within US. Anyone is welcome to shoot offers too, price ain't set in stone here.

Also check out my CTCW auctions, I have a few MSX2 games for sale still - http://www.chasethechuckwagon.com/display.cgi?search=1&seller=rolins

I bought this MSX several weeks ago and the original disk drive and its mounting plate were missing. I didn't mind the missing drive, that's easy to replace but the mounting plate is a whole different story. Without a mounting plate there was no way of keeping a new floppy drive still, so I opted to mounted a 34pin IDC to back of the computer for connecting a PC floppy drive. I also restored +12V power to the system, by replacing the shot 78L12 voltage regulator. You can read more about that at the the MRC forum - http://www.msx.org/forumtopic9300.html

Included in this deal is the MSX2+ computer and a spare 34pin floppy cable. PC floppy drive and ATX power supply is not included. You'll have to supply that yourself.

PLEASE READ - Very important notes about this computer

-Mostly older PC floppy drives will be compatible like a Teac 235HF and Mitsumi D359M3 models. Looking for PC drives manufactured during 1998 and prior is a sure bet.

-Floppy drives requires external power. ATX power supply will do nicely.

-I installed a toggle switch next to the 34pin IDC. The switch changes pin6 (on the msx) to either pin34 or GND (on the pc drive). Whenever you boot your computer without a disk or cartridge, the computer will hang trying to read the floppy drive. When that happens just flip the toggle switch, or keeping a blank disk inside the drive all the time will do the trick too.

-A small piece of the plastic casing is chipped (see the photo below).

-This model doesn't have MSX-Music built-in, so purchasing a FM-Pac cartridge is recommended if you want that feature.

I have 2 loose cartridges by the very awesome T&ESOFT: Super Laydock and Hydlide 3 (MSX2 version). Both are without boxes and manuals, but the cartridges in very good condition. Looking to trade for other loose MSX cartridges but your welcome to offer money.

Super Laydock is probably one the best vertical shooting games for the MSX. Definitely one of my personal favorites.
Hydlide 3 is RPG and one of the most challenging.

Found a cool article showcasing light guns from past consoles. Most of which I've never knew existed. I definitely want that Famicom zapper for x-mas, sadly it's so damn expensive.

http://www.pelikonepeijoonit.net/lightgungallery.html

Btw, here are photos of the ASCII Plus X Terminator Laser for the MSX. The website doesn't have a picture of it, so I'll post them. Damn, I want one these too.  =P~

Mother's sting catches son, Cory Ryder, 'hiring hitman to kill her'

Damn, there's so many messed up children in this world. This kid was caught trying to off his parents by hiring a hitman to do it for him. I found this article from another site and they made it sound as if he did it b/c his parents took away his PS2. I really think he's just mentally f*ck in head.

Does anyone here have the pinout to the famicom's DB-15 expansion port? I'm receiving a famicom joystick in the mail in a few days, and I want to use this on my Nes since I don't own a famicom. I scoured the internet for the pinout, but Gamesx seems to be down and I found two other pages that might be helpful. I'm not sure if they're correct though.

Kevin Horton's Famicombox - this page has the pinout but it doesn't correspond to Nes pinout that I'm used to seeing.
http://www.tripoint.org/kevtris/mappers/famicombox/index6.html

This page has the pinouts too, but I think it's for the fami-clones.

A friend of mine is cleaning out his garage and is going to give me 2x NEC Multisync 4PG monitors. They're 27inches and have VGA, RGBHV (5 BNC), S-Video, Composite, H Freq/ V Freq: 15-50 Khz / 40-120 Hz, with max resolution of 1024x768. Perfect for gaming or as PC monitor.

The first monitor includes a remote control (which I'm taking for myself). The second monitor (which is for grabs) has no remote control included, and seems to have a warped image for the first 3mins you turn it on. The picture does normalize after that, but other than that the monitors are in perfect working condition.

I'm taking the first monitor and the second monitor is for anyone who can meet me at my friend's house for pickup. The location is in Altadena, CA. If anyone is interested please send me a PM and I'll send directions where to meet up. I like to schedule the meet this Sunday Sept 2. Thanks.

Off-Topic / What do you want to X-Mas?
12/04/2006, 03:59 AM
What I want for X-Mas...

1.) Fujitsu FM-Towns Marty 2 - Tops on my list. I would opt for a complete FM-Towns II computer, but the S&H costs would be insane.

2.) MSX Sakhr AX-990 - A very rare MSX computer from the middle east, this model has a built in Sega MegaDrive. I'm curious if this plays japanese games.

3.) NEC PC-9821Na Laptop - So I can play PC-98 games without all the emulated hiccups.

Last night I went back to playing Tatsujin using ME. I had this craving for more punishment. The last time I played this I got my ass handed to me by minibosses in this game. Jeez, minibosses are more dangerous than the stage boss. They come in groups of 2s and 4s, and have to use all my god damn bombs on these guys. I end up dying on purpose just so I can replenish my bomb supply for the next group.

Well, when I started playing I died fighting the first miniboss in stage 1 and got so pissed I restarted the game. I wanted to swtich the difficulty of easy mode because the default normal mode is just to hard. Anyways, at the title screen reaching the hidden option mode requires you to press Select + RUN buttons together. When the option menu came up I saw a new option list that normally isn't available before.

The first time you access the option menu you're able to change the difficulty, score levels, and autofire. This time I'm treated to new list of options. I can change number lives, bombs, and credits. I can also listen to the game's music and sfx. I think the best option here is the screen mode which can swtich to normal and slim. Slim compress the screen vertically, and it really does help in giving me few extra distance between the enemies, or at least it helps me.

Anyways, to access this other hidden menu do this...
1.) Start the game as always
2.) Kill all the lesser enemies to obtain 7100 pts
3.) When you reach 7100 pts, press RUN + Select
4.) You'll be at the Title screen now, so press Select + RUN
5.) New hidden options screen!

Does anyone know how to build one? I have a FM-Towns joystick and I want to use it on my computer. GameSX has the joystick pinouts here http://www.gamesx.com/controldata/fmtownsjoy.htm

I neither have the tools or knowledge for this kind of thing, so if someone could build me one I'd really appreciate it. I will of couse pay for the cost and time it takes to build it. I'm willing to pay upwards to $35 for it. :)

General Gaming / WOOMB.net - MSX games
10/16/2006, 10:27 PM
Great news. WOOMB, the partner of D4E's Amusement Center, has now got a lineup of MSX games for customers outside of Japan. All games and manuals are now localized, meaning they're in english.

They now have Neo Golvellius in English too!

http://www.woomb.net
#27
Okay there is japanese website called Amusement Center and they provide retro-games for a small price.

They have some games that I've been dying to play, but obviously they don't do business outside of Japan. I've tried to register myself but signup form requires you to input your name in japanese characters and your address for verification. Two things that I can't make up.

So here's the deal, I need someone living in Japan to become a member (membership is free btw) and purchase the games for me. Then once the games have been bought and downloaded, send me the games thru email. I will of course send payment (thru paypal) in advance for the games and a service free to the person who helps me.

If anyone is interested in helping me out then send a PM or contact me thru my email: Degis.Golgos@gmail.com

Off-Topic / Screen recorders
09/29/2006, 05:06 AM
I want to put upload some game movies to youtube. I don't have a hardware capture card and I don't plan on buying one anytime soon. Besides the games I want to record are on emulators only. I have recently uploaded to 2 movies to youtube, but I'm unsatisfied with the results. The movies were captured with Hypercam, a software screen recorder, and I used it to record gamplay from a PC-88 emulator. The movies ended up decent, but thought I could do better. Anyone have suggestion about another good screen recorder besides Hypercam?

Also is there any interest in watching movies of games from the FM-Towns system?

General Gaming / MSX Hudson Bee Cards
06/28/2006, 03:28 PM
Look at what I got in the mail today. The black cartridge is the Hudson Bee-Pack and above it are two Bee card games: Star Soldier and Star Force. These games are for the MSX and I guess their the prototype to the hucards on the PCE.

/bee004ho.jpg

The first time I saw one these Bee cards was at lkermel's VGDEN site where he posted a photo of the Bee card Bomberman. I thought it was a joke, but found more pictures at The Ultimate MSX FAQ that confirmed their existence. AFAIK there are a total of nine or so games on Bee card. I have two now, so I only seven more to complete the set.

Anyone have one for sale?
#34
I was at Circuit City last weekend and while I was walking around I noticed their shelf of DV cam casings. I walked over and began checking them out, and I realized the insides of one of these can fit a TE w/ room to spare.

The insides of some them had thick cushioning, and those velcro separators which is perfect for placing both my TE and battery pack together without them banging into each other. They also had small pockets on the outside with netting. I think I can use those those to place some batteries and hucards.

What do you guys think, it's a good idea to purchase a DV cam case just to carry my TE? I didn't buy one yet because they're kinda pricy at $30-50 and don't have that kind of money to spend right now. But I've been trying to find an official TE case for months, and I'm getting tired of carrying my TE in bubble wrap.

I got some good stuff for sale. Everything here has been fully tested and is guarantee not to be DOA. Please someone buy something, don't make me resort to ebay. I don't want to go thru ebay's long setup process, and two, I don't want pricks like bullseye to have them. I want these games in the hands of people who actually want to play them.

Shipping prices for each item:
-usa: $4 priority (2-3 days)

---I'll combine multiple items to keep S&H low

I will only accept Paypal or money order.

Off-Topic / Falcom OSTs on japan iTunes

Why can't Falcom give OST access to the english version of iTunes? It would increase their sales if they do.

Has anyone heard of these guys? They're a couple of nerdy guys into experimental rock.

They've remake some old video game tunes from Mega Man II, Ninja Gaiden II, Wanderers of Ys, and few others. Only a couple are available to download and listen.

Too bad Wanderers of Ys isn't available for download. I would've like to hear it.

My favorites are Chaosium Sword, Parasprinter, Wily's Castle (highly recommended), and Sonic and Knuckles.

I'm planning on buying a sega game gear. Is there anything important I should know before buying one?

I also plan on getting some japanese carts. Is there going to be a problem playing imports?

Buy/Sell/Trade / Deadbeat sellers on ebay
10/22/2005, 01:35 AM
Most members on this forum use ebay to buy pce/tg16 stuff. It's one the best places to get bargin deals on hard to find items. I've been using ebay for 5 years now and have not experienced any trouble, but every now and then I read about a buyer's horror experience with another ebay seller. Either because the seller was an absolute jerk, too slow respond emails, sent wrong/broken items, gave misleading info, or sold pirated merchandise.  Asshole sellers waste our the time and money. We can't get rid of them so we have to avoid them. I've read through some older posts in the forum and these three made the list of Deadbeat sellers. Anyone know another seller to add here?

Buy/Sell/Trade / wanted: blazing lazers
09/23/2005, 11:35 PM
Looking for a decent copy of Blazing Lasers. The game doesn't have to be in mint condition, and I don't require a jewel case or manual. I much prefer to to buy the hucard alone since I'm quite low on spending money. Send me a PM if anyone wants to deal.

I searched on google for the website address, but it seems to be down. Here is the address I've found that is not working: joyce.eng.yale.edu/~bt/turbo/. Anyone have an address to a mirror site?

Is it possible to change the region lock of a TE from usa to japan? I'm having a hard time finding a seller with a japanese GT in mint condition, and the TE seems to be more common on ebay.  On ebay, the GTs being sold are either to expensive, have quiet sound, dead pixels, or the seller has way too many neg feedback. I'm not interested in a region switch, (I know there isn't enough space for that) just want to be able to play japanese hucards.

I don't have a TE, but if it is possible to modify I'll consider buying one.

Is anyone watching this ebay auction?

http://cgi.ebay.com/NEO-GEO-SEGA-SATURN-TURBO-DUO-N64-DREAMCAST-LASERACTIVE_W0QQitemZ8214098888QQcategoryZ62053QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

His Neo Geo collection is quite impressive, but think his asking price is outrageous. He must have filed for bankruptcy and was forced to sell his collection.
