Secret Santa is here again! Here's the rules:
1. Don't sign up if you can't or won't follow through.
2. Signups are open now until the first(ish) of November, at which time everyone'll be matched up and wish lists will be sent out to their respective Santa.
3. To make life easier for me, please fill in the form below when sending me your info. Keep in mind that the more options your Santa has, the better the chances of him (or her) finding a good deal in the time allotted.
4. Value of your gift(s) should be in the $30-40 range - real value and not bloated OMG R@R3 L@@K bin pricing.
5. Gifts should be mailed by December 10th at the latest, but don't mail it too early either. If for some reason you won't be able to meet that time frame, please let me know as early as possible so that alternate plans can be made and nobody ends up with nothing but tears and empty dreams under their festivus pole.
6. This is important and bears repeating: don't sign up if you won't follow through; you fuck this up and I'll ban your ass.
7. The most important rule is to have fun!
For extra holiday cheer, one random Santa will be selected to receive 'coal in their stocking and another will get a copy of the Turbo Legacy Poster. If you don't want (or already have) either of these goodies, please note accordingly on the form below.
Also, let me know if you don't want to shop for me since it won't exactly be secret.

That's a good question. Many of my favorites (i.e. - Legend of Xanadu I and II, Gotzendiener, Hatris, Magicoal, and Ys IV) can easily be had for under $30, but many others have been priced outta the running.
Should we up it to $30-40?

It sucks that games are higher now, but it's also an undeniable truth.
I usually go over the minimum in these things as they are typically low, but $40 is probably about where I'd top out at (so I would be okay with $30-40 range).
I want to do it again, just about to start a new job so I should be able to. I'll come back and say for sure before the deadline is up. Really enjoyed doing it last year, but like you said, prices are going up on this stuff all around! Just gotta make sure I have the xtra dough first. The order I placed was marked as shipped on the 6th, but no tracking. Figured this would happen since I ordered off Amazon marketplace, but I was able to get two games for the price just one of them would have been on Ebay. Should be complete too, since they are disc based.

Doe. Business with them before. At times I try and low ball and they accept most of the time he only shaves off $3-5 dollars.
In my search for my SS stuff I found ebay to be the exact same or even cheaper than places like suruga-ya, yahoo japan auctions, or even amazon. When you figure in the double shipping costs and fees it was actually even more expensive since the prices were the same as ebay.
They gave me a estimated delivery date of nov 27th - dec 6th, so if all goes well I will have time to wrap and add local goodies to the box before sending. This is getting exciting, I hope it all works out :)

The package from Japan arrived to my house but I was not home to sign for it, so now it's chillin at the local post office.
I will have it in hand by Saturday at the latest. Which is exciting because I get to wrap the presents and add some extras without being rushed and pressured.

The stuff to send for ss came in today, and it made me wonder what would happen if I just held onto this stuff and dipped out from SS? Hahah but honestly the person I was assigned to has an awesome list and these things are so unique and much cooler than anything I've picked up (or put on my list), it's so cool to look over and admire before sending off.

Budget has always been around $35 i thought and I always like to do more than just 1 game. I usually go over but not by much. That also doesn't include shipping. I just like to hope I keep it fair but get people what they want.

Well I finally kicked all my wife's family outta my house! So, I finally have my pad back. I haven't had time to post pics let alone wipe my ass. (wife had to do it for me). I actually opened my SS package on Xmas morning, but since we're visiting family down in TN I haven't got a chance to post yet. Sorry for the delay, SS! I am the very happy recipient of a Gomola Speed and Avenue Pad 6 so I can finally play SF2 properly! I'm also gonna have to investigate getting a few more fighting games to use with it. It was fun opening up Moon Patrol. The label is so shiny and crisp (unlike the rest of my games), and 'twas neat looking at the manual and promo folder thing.

I have played the Raiden port on Jaguar and although it is certainly one of the more competent games for the console, it is not as awesome as TG-16/PCE HuCARD or Super Raiden SCD versions. I know you think I am biased here, so I know you will have to play it for yourself and urge for yourself.
Now, if anyone posts about the PlayStation release, I give you permission to bludgeon them with a Jaguar control pad. :)

I have Raiden for Jag and always thought it was a great version of the game. I especially liked how the game was oriented the correct (if memory serves) direction as opposed to the snes/turbo ports. It has its oddities (missing set pieces for example) but it still played the way I recalled the game playing in the arcade.
PS: Finally heading home from Christmas with my extended family. I'm looking forward to seeing what TurboSanta 16 brought me... Pics will be forthcoming
The ps1 raiden is the best version I've played outside of the arcade. I loved the DOS version I grew up with, but I wonder how it holds up...
