Quote from: SuperDeadite on 05/05/2009, 03:32 AMYay for Special Golden Week Discounts!  The FDS game with no art is Bubble Bobble.  I'm quite impressed with Fami Castlevania 3, the music really blows away the NES version.  We American kids really got screwed.

Nice you scored a viewpoint for the neo-geo aes.Bewarn i've play it on my cmvs 2-slot the shooter is realy tough as nails a great sound track though.

While it's not a bad stick I'd say mod it.  The stick is too loose for it's own good if you're playing a fighting game.  Half of the time I feel like I'm trying harder than I need to when I'm doing dragon punch motions or tiger knees.  I mean it's something you can get used to but why bother?  If you can I'd say at the very least put a Sanwa JLF type stick in it or an Sanwa GT-Y octagon restrictor plate in it.  It'll do wonders for that stick.
I know it is too loose i gave it a try on,SF3 thirdstrike.Doing a circle motion on it didn't all ways come off right for the special moves.Later on i would like have it modded so it is useful to use.The reason i bought the joystick becuase it sure was cheaper then...buying a hori real pro arcade joystick.

Great find these are fantastic arcade sticks. I built an adaptor so I could use mine with my NES toaster.
I highly recommend swapping the 30mm ball top with a 35mm one from Sanwa or Seimitsu. Also it'll benefit with some re-greasing, it's an old stick even if it's mint and unused the grease might be all dried up by now.
Yeah it is a nice joystick i got it from 16bit on ebay there.Though i found out it won't work on my famicom av sad to say.I need either a original famicom or the sharp twin famicom to use it.Though this isn't a rare case either where some third party controllers will not work on a famicom av.I talk to sensei about it and,he mention even the joyball will not work on it.Oh well i been thinking about getting a twin famicom for backup use any ways.
That's strange, I wonder why it doesn't work?
Oh well...plug it into the 7pin controller ports instead. Those I know are identical to the NES pinout and from there that joystick should work. You'll need to build an adaptor though which is piece of cake. Trust me you're only dealing with 5 wires here. Here's the one I built, I hacked off the cord from a nes pad and wired the end to a DB15 male connector.
/fcnesadaptorfa1.jpg
Yeah i did plug it into expension port on the side of the famicom av.No go at all even when the joystick did light up.I don't supose if i payed ya you could make a adapter for me ? That might work for me letting run it on it's front controller ports.Even duo_r suggested, having it work that way for me.Befor you say why don't i do it myself simple i have no electronic skill what so ever.
That 15-pin connector in the AV-famicom isn't for controllers.  As a matter of fact I remember using a neo geo joystick in that port and pressing down on the joystick made the system reset or something of that sort.
I all ready went over with that duo_r and zeon etc it is the nature of the famicom av.Though i can use my both of my,Arkanoid paddles on the console go figure. When i bought the joystick even 16bit stated for the famicom or twin famicom only.Still i'm gonna try what rolins suggested see if it that works. If that fails...there's all ways getting a nes advantage since a famicom av can use most nes controllers.

Just thought i'd point that out to ya given you're comment at the end of the video concerning,SFII for it.

Quote from: SuperDeadite on 05/05/2008, 04:35 AMI have an AES and quite like it.  Sure I could save money with an MVS, but I really don't care.  I keep my collection small
and only intend to buy the games I really want.  Sure I could get an MVS and buy all 10 KoF's for cheap, but I wouldn't
really play them all.  I'd rather take that money and buy just one AES game that I actually will devote real time too.

Granted I live in Japan and can get AES games a bit cheaper then most, but I highly support any new AES fan.  Congratulations
rainbow_bright, and welcome to the NeoGeo party.   :D

Quote from: Lord Thag on 04/24/2008, 06:01 PMMaybe we should all do up a bunch of jpegs with printable spine graphics.

You can make the back of a standard clear jewel case look just like a turbo one with a can of textured black paint. It looks/feels just like the real thing. With some spine labels, scans of manuals, you could make a pretty convincing case.

As for the interior, I wonder if we could ham something up that would work?
well here is a perfect time to show what sparky made up!!!! ...here we go.

just an interest check as i have made up ALL the U.S hucards spine sticker labels out there including the 21 that did not come with jewel cases which was my main reason i did this as storing them in mismatched or empty cases just sucked ass!!!!

These match up closely to the original TG16 labels in fonts, quality & colour codes... i even did the logos for Sidearms, Sonic Spike & Turrican, what your seeing here are my test sheets but when i did the final of all 94 they came out even better & i did a few sets of them (at a print shop)
Again the colours don't match perfectly, some are darker but they look very professional and have been trimmed out.

EDIT: would $15 sound reasonable for the set of 94 stickers?

IMG
IMG
Woah, that's nice heck i have some gutted jewl cases that could use the proper labels.
