When looking for information about Compile games for PC Engine, I found several (Japanese) forums & sites (see: http://pp-museum.org/PPM/history/dshistory.html) that mention that the Compile DiscStation series also exist for the PC Engine! That is incredible, because I loved them on MSX. I don't know if you know the concept of a DiscStation, but usualy it's a disc full of little games, text interviews, stories, visuals, game demo's etc. Some MSX editions even had a complete game on a second disc (for example Aleste Gaiden or RuneMaster)

But I haven't seen any real evidence of the existence of these Compile gems. Does anybody have more information on this? Or maybe a copy for sale?

Thanks for the tips. I already tried a new lens, but the results are the same :-( No game for now... but I will check all the little wires when I return home!

Since a few weeks, I have a very annoying problem with my Duo RX console. Suddenly it stopped loading CD games normally.
When I start the console and press "run" the drive starts spinning very hard, much harder than before. I don't recieve a "load error" or something, it just keeps spinning.

Sometimes after a few minutes the speed goes down to a "normal" level and the game starts eventually. But most of the times it continues with ridiculous fast spinning and nothing happens. Not even a error message.

Is there anybody who has/had the same problem and knows a fix?

BTW: I already tried a new CD lens, but that didn't solve the problem.

I changed the two capacitors "after" the op-amp, like D-Lite wrote. The problem of the fading sound-level is over now. But there is still a lot of electrical noise from the audio-out. It sounds like a bad contact, but that can not be the problem, because I checked and cleaned them.

So my next plan is to change the capacitors on the pre-amp side as well. I'll let you know what the effect will be!

Since a few days, I am the proud owner of a Duo RX, which (sadly) has the same problem #2 as described by D-Lite.

I opened the console and found out that the identification numbers (C???, IC???) are the same ones as on the pictures from the Turbo Duo mainboard.

Do you think it helps if I change the two capacitors (C604 and C610) for new ones? BTW, they are not located close to the power circuit, but under the optical unit, and the capacitors are not the metal ones, but look like the ones D-Lite used for the fix.

Any help is much appriciated!
