 I have no other discs yet :( That's odd though, could a problem in sound really prevent the next part from loading? If so, that's not a big problem, I have the security bit and the replacement chip in transit! Then I can get my game on. Until then I guess I will have to play the Super Famicom version.

Alright, I finally got my PCE Duo in the mail. I hooked it up and everything. Popped in the Japanese Godzilla game, and took it for a spin. The game loaded up perfectly, I checked out versus mode, it loaded and played fine, besides the adpcm sounds of course. But then when I went into story/arcade mode, an odd thing happened. I picked Rodan and Anguirus just to make sure...but it will confirm that I press I or II, then it will just sit there, reloading and playing the music. The disc is in impeccable shape, so am I to believe that my laser is to blame?

Console Repair/Mod Center / ADPCM Sound

Recently purchased a PCE Duo, the system will play all CD audio, background music, but will not play the ADPCM sounds. I researched in another thread that the cause was a faulty M5205 OKI chip. I purchased one of these replacement chips. Now, the question is where does it go, and how do I go about securing it into place?

I am a new DUO owner, and I was just wondering what games are worth finding and playing on it. I have Godzilla, but I'm a huge godzilla fan. Any recommendations would be cool.

I just recently bought a PC Engine DUO, and the seller said that the adpcm sound does not work. He said it was the M5205 Oki type chip, so I purchased one, I was just wondering where this sucker goes, and how to put it in, could it be the capacitors as well?
