Quote from: elabit on 10/16/2011, 11:05 PMDamaramu that sega looks great but why do people want the non TMSS model? what difference does it make seeing the little warning screen or whatever it is?
On top of the "high definition graphics" version of the model 1 having the superior sound, there are some early games that will only run on the non TMSS models.

Posted this on a couple of other game-centric forums a few days ago:

Today, I picked up a minty non-TMSS High Definition Graphics Genesis for $14.99 at a local shop.

This baby looked like it came straight out of the box with nary a scrape or scratch. The power button has a nice solid click when you power it on and the volume slider is nice and firm (no button wiggle).

Woot! Laseractive owner here too! I'd love to get my hands on a TG16/PCE pac...but damn it, they're so expensive. I got my LA for about $60 (or was it $80?) with the Genesis pac off the Digital Press boards years ago. The guy shipped it in a CRT monitor box.

For TG16 games, I don't really care about the outer box. If it comes with the game, fine - but I won't go out of my way to hunt down boxes. PC Engine games, specifically CD based, I would like to have the spine card but it's not a deal breaker if it's missing.

I won't ever purchase a hucard/cd only game.

What the dick?
NES gouging much?
Whoa...why so much for Metal Storm? I noticed other auctions going from $25 - $35 for loose cart only copies. What gives? (other than greed)  #-o

I have the white 6 button controller. I really like it, but the diagonals are harder to hit. I think this is because of the large D-pad.

I really would like ot get one of those Avenue 6 pads!
Yup! I highly recommend them! I also have the white 6 button controller that came with my RX. The diagonals are indeed horrible. I was wondering if there's some mod that can be done to make them a bit more responsive.

Anyway, I picked up the Avenue 6 along with a multitap! Now to wait a few weeks while they make their way here from Japan!

There are a few more up for sale on Ebay, the cheapest one being this NIB for $39, which ain't too bad at all. http://tinyurl.com/2e9xs7f

I'm playing an old favorite, Cosmic Fantasy II.

I beat this game back in the '93 and picked up a new sealed copy (along with Exile) that was being clearanced out on Ebay via TZD.

Looking forward to picking up the other games in the series now that I've got a Duo RX.

Quote from: guest on 07/21/2010, 11:31 AMWelcome aboard!  That's one sexy mo-fo, what with the 6-button controller and all; how much did it set you back?
Thanks! I got it off of Ebay and it set me back about $290, no box or paperwork. In retrospect I don't think the deal was that great, but the seller was here in North America, I got it pretty quick, and it wasn't heavily yellowed like ones most of the Japanese sellers have for sale.

And of course, a few days after I bought it I see a boxed Duo R, with all the original paperwork, etc. for $275 shipped, from Japan.  :?

Ah well, at least I finally got one.  :-"
