Quote from: A_Locomotive on 06/01/2012, 12:19 AMI wonder if the Turbo Everdrive will have the same issues that the Neo Flash does with weak voltage. I hope not. :( I don't like the idea of spending all that money to find it doesn't work on my region modded Duo-R forcing me to get another console just for it.
what issues does it have?
Some consoles have a weak voltage to the hucard slot and are unable to run flash cards.

More detailed description hear, this problem is the only reason I never bought a neo flash.

Quote from: A_Locomotive on 06/01/2012, 12:16 AMHaha wow I feel kind of dumb, I was having so much fun playing I neglected to even take out the manual. haha Yeah there are several listed in there, looks to be all the ones I've managed to do by accident, only one it doesn't say how to do is there one were the huge beam comes out of his head.
The men's beam. I've beaten the game many times and even I have no idea how it activates.

By the way, best move is to hold down the fire button while moving back and forth. If done right it should allow you to sprinkle dust realy fast in any of the two directions. It also works with up and down if I remember correctly, but I rarely ever do that.
I've been using this to great effect, managed to get to the 3rd stage of the second level this morning, mens beam seems to be random so far.

Anyone have any insight into the strange noises? Another thing I've noticed is I've having sprites occasionally fade, again not sure if this is normal and just the system being a bit stressed or if there is a problem with the Duo-R, will try other games to see if they also do it when I get home from work.

So after wanting Ai Cho Aniki for years, ever since I first read about it and saw videos, I finally got it today in the mail. I've got a couple of questions about it, first is something thats kind of worrying me, when I get a game over and it takes me back to the main screen the game makes tons of strange noises, for a few seconds, I can't tell if this is supposed to happen or if there is a problem with my Duo-R, I've never had sounds like this in any other games which makes me think its the game but the sounds are so strange and disjointed sounding that it has me worried. Second question is, does anyone know where I might find a move list for the game? I've figured out only a few attacks and knowing more moves would definitely make the game a bit easier.

Thats incredible that you are doing this! Very cool of you! I'd love to sign up if its ok. :)

My copy of Ai Cho Aniki arrived today. I love it! I personally like it better then the first Cho Aniki, its much more WTF, its prettier, difficulty is more inline with my general playing ability. the music is fantastic! Difficulty feels almost right, there are moments that feel impossible but I'm sure those will get easier once I figure out all the combos. Farthest I've yet managed to get is to the 2nd stage of the second level.

I've heard Ai Cho Aniki isn't as good but honestly, its been a LONG time want of mine so I'm still getting it, I have the first one already so I can compare. :P I actually caved this morning and bought it online, a new one got posted for cheaper, got it for $39 shipped plus it had a spine card as well so win win over either of the others that were up.

True. I'm kind of bummed, looking in completed auctions I see one ended for $29 recently. Gonna sleep on it and decide in the morning I think.

Haha I'm thinking about it. There are two copies up, both claim great condition. One is $43 shipped the other is $50k, the $50 one has the spine card, deciding if I want to fork over the extra for it,.

Quote from: bartre on 05/21/2012, 12:52 AMiirc, mine cost $25, so about that, maybe $30 seems a better price.
though to be honest, i've always had a hard time getting a hold of any of the cho aniki games at a good price, guess no one wants to sell them.
great game though, the music is awesome! good luck.
I managed to get Cho Aniki for a reasonable price when I bought my Duo-R from the guy who modded it for me. Ai Cho Aniki I've never had luck with when I've looked. I'm trying not to cave on the ebay prices and hold out hope. I agree about the music! I found a site with loads of video game music a few years back and downloaded every song from Ai Cho Aniki, I've got it burned to a CD in my car. haha I can't wait to eventually get it and give it a go.

Aww so close lol. Thanks for doing the drawing in a vid, the suspense was killing me! Congrats to winner!

Hey everyone. I'm looking to buy Ai Cho Aniki, couple up on ebay right now around $40 but not sure if they are a fair price or not so trying here first. Plus I'd much rather buy from the community then the bay so if you have a complete copy hit me up and let me know what you are asking!

I'm guessing it to late to get in on this. I've been away for quite sometime. :P

Quote from: ParanoiaDragon on 03/28/2012, 04:26 AMThere's no release date for Origin yet last I checked, but I'll be first in line to get it.  I do hope the Vita or PS3 get Origin though.  I say PS3 cuz there have been rumor's of Falcom toying around with it, along with the whole Ys Seven multi-plat stuff.  I know there's Ys Celceta planned for Vita, but I don't remember hearing anything about another Ys??
Ys IV is the other one I mentioned, supposedly in the works for the Vita, I've seen it included on lists of upcoming Vita titles. I really hope Celceta gets a US release, I have yet to read anything confirming it will get one. What do you mean Ys Seven multiplat? Are they planning on porting it to other platforms? Would be great if they did, it would be great if it could gain more fans that way and hopefully spur development of more games. :)
#17
I just saw this on steam, after closing DNF an add popped up and it was for Oath in Felghana, I was like WTF??? I didn't realise Origin was on there as well, might buy that one, though I'm hoping for a console release, thinking of buying a Vita soon and have my fingers crossed it comes out on that along with the other 2 Ys games planned for it.

I'd personally pick ordyne, I like its pace and its looks. Sidearms difficulty spikes in difficulty take a lot of the fun out of it for me.

Red Bull is shit in all forms.
This wasn't redbull though, it wasn't an energy drink any more then a coke is. What this was was a very high quality soda where every ingredient save for 1 or two could be bought at the grocery store. These were the ingredients, cola nut, coca leaf extract, galangal, lemon and lime, cloves, cinnamon, cardamom, pine, field mint, vanilla pods, ginger, mace, cocoa, liquorice, orange, mustard seed.

How much did the boxed avenue pads run you?

That's what I did. I used the email on his site, just before I posted here. It's been a week without a response from him. I would've definitely preferred buying from him, but too bad I guess.[/quote]
Give him time he will respond, he's a busy guy. It took about a month of back and forth emails to get what I wanted nailed down. He answered a lot of my questions, provided me with lots of photos and even helped me choose my first games by offering suggestions based on the genres and games I liked for other consoles. Just be patient he will get back to you, if not send him another email so it bumps to the top of his inbox, believe me his service is good enough to be worth the effort.

Got some new music in the mail today. I recently ordered a new LP by the band Old Man Gloom titled "Christmas Eve I & II + 6 + Live In NYC", its a combo of a 3 inch mini CD they released long ago and a Live set that was issued on a bonus disc only in Japan. Its a fantastic recording, I've got the 3 inch CD but this was the first time I've heard the live set. Well worth the money I spent. Oh and to top things off the distro I ordered it from threw in 3 free albums with it, "Alter" by the band Knut, the self titled album by The Huguenots, and "Bird of Prey" by Zozobra. They were a very nice surprise.

1) Neo Geo Pocket Color. I've always thought these looked great, very slick design and great small size. Always wanted one as a kid but since I never had a lot in spending money I went with Nintendos offerings because I at the time suspected(and was correct) that it likely wouldn't last very long as a competitor.

2) Game Boy Advance(Original). I've loved the look of this fantastic little system ever since I first saw it. Same reason I like my other 2 picks, very sleek design, its only flaw in my eyes are its at times awkward to use shoulder buttons.

3) Sony PSP-3000. If it wasn't for the absolutely piss poor ergonomics these have I might actually rank it 1st. Its extremely sleek and when clean of finger prints drop dead gorgeous.

Email/PM D-Lite, I bought mine from him, he set me up with a boxed one, region modded, with a ton of games. This is his site, http://www.multimods.com/, he also offers an s-video mod like you want.

General Gaming / Re: New Neo-Geo handheld?

I don't like the design, it doesn't look like it would be comfortable enough to play fighters on. Playing fighters or any other game on my PSP that has fast twitch game play results in crazy hand cramps in a short time. As much as I love my Neo Geo compilation I have for it I can never play it for long for that reason. Where as I could play fighters all day on my NGPC because of its fantastic design. This thing needs to be a bit thicker and have some sort of grips or places on the back your fingers can lock into so you don't need to brace it when your playing. Of course I can't know how it will feel to hold but my gut instinct says it won't be comfortable.

Mine is the ultra badass S1 locomotive. It was a failed prototype streamliner, never reached its expected speed goal but damn does it look cool.

Quote from: guest on 12/19/2011, 12:10 PMholy christ you are overpaying for that.
If you want discs that will last though gold archival discs are what you want seeing as they don't oxidize so no risk of disc rot ever which is fantastic if you are storing something you absolutely don't want to loose like photos or documents. As for how they are for games, beats me I have yet to try a burned game in my Duo-R. :P

So I remembered reading somewhere that you should pop PCE CD games into your computer and play the games music so I just gave that a try with Winds of Thunder and am not really sure what happened. lol itunes found it immediately, one track was listed as 4 hrs another as 16 and the rest as unavailable.  So I tried copying it and it managed to get a small sound bit before itunes locked up. Playing back what it did manage to copy I was greeted with a women speaking japanese for a while and then a bunch of loud crazy glitchy noises for 2 minutes. lol So how is it I go about copying the music files from the games?

There is also this one, I bid my max on it, $30, but that got surpassed so I passed on it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ys-III-Wanderers-Ys-TurboGrafx-CD-1991-/260916976505?_trksid=p5197.m185&_trkparms=algo%3DSIC.NPJS%26itu%3DI%252BUA%26otn%3D12%26pmod%3D220914309014%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D4972275409847485019

Hopefully you can find one at a decent price, I'd like to get this game eventually, beat the PSP remake/re-imagining a few weeks ago and loved it. About to start playing Ys I & II on my Duo-R, it just arrived today. C:

Bought a new keyboard today to replace my failing saitek cyborg, got a Razer Black Widow Ultimate. Already thinking of returning it... The mechanical keys are just to loud, which bugs me for a couple of reasons; first is I listen to a lot of music on my computer and the klakity klak of the keys will completely spoil quieter music and I also worry about it ruining emersion in PC games which is pretty damn ironic since this key board is supposed to be for gaming. lol I've got 30 days to make up my mind though so I'm gonna give it a fair chance before deciding on returning it. So far I'm digging every bit of it aside from the damn noise from the keys. They keys feel great, they are perfectly sized and spaced and even without a wrist rest its quite comfortable. Now lets see what happens when I try gaming with it. :P

Currently playing SNK Arcade Classics Vol 1 on my PSP. I've always loved the Neo Geo arcade machines so this was a no brainer for me. Several of the games are a lot harder then I remember, glad the games all run in free play mod and don't restrict your lives. :P

For me the consoles I'd rank, in no particular order, as the best looking are:

Jaguar
Duo-R
Neo Geo AES
Super Famicom

I have a thing for sleek looking consoles. :P

Quote from: grahf on 07/21/2011, 08:59 AMThey have little hand crank versions of the ones the record stores have. They work pretty good I hear.
They do work quite well, I've saved many damaged games with one. Such as my copy of Zone of The Enders that had one hell of a gash in it that resulted from my cat ramming into the side of my PS2 while I was playing. The disc works perfectly again now. There is a downside to the hand crank ones though and that is that the results look terrible, it leaves a very prominent spiral pattern on the disc, doesn't seem to effect readability at all but damn is it annoying when you look at the underside of the discs. :/

I've only been fired from one job and that was because of a switch in management. I was working at a tire and oil change shop that also did minor repairs. The original manager hired me knowing I had no work experience and was willing to teach me and help me out. But then a few weeks in he one day didn't show up and my co worker and I were never told what happened to him the guy who replaced him was a total ass and didn't want to give me a chance and when I couldn't balance a tire or change a cars oil as fast as my co worker who had been doing this for 5 years he fired me and then the economy when belly up and I couldn't find a job for more then 2 years. :/

Quote from: Windy on 12/14/2011, 01:20 PMEnjoy the Kabuki Fighters Loco! It's an awesome fighter and you look like your off to a great start with some great games :)
I can't wait to try it but sadly I have to wait till I can get an arcade card :( which I'll start looking for once I see what my money situation is like once all my Christmas shopping is done. By the way is the game playable with a regular 2 button controller or do I need to get an Avenue 3 or 6 button? Haha I'm loving My Duo-R so far but most of the games are kicking my ass, they are much more unforgiving then most games I've played. I'm so used to games having lots of lives(or as is pretty much the norm with modern games infinite) and reasonably easily acquired extras that it allows trial and error where as with most of these its pretty much get it right the first time or else. So far SonSon II and Cho Aniki are the hardest games for me, I have yet to beat the first level of Cho Aniki and the farthest I've gotten in SonSon II is the tiger boss.

Quote from: guest on 12/05/2011, 02:33 PMThe Jaguar has one good game.

Tempest 2000

oh and Defender 2000 or whatever.

AKA: 3Dish diddleremakes of games.
It has more good games then that. Granted none of them are exclusives but I quite enjoy Rayman, the above mentioned Tempest 2000, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, Cannon Fodder, Flashback, even Doom with its total lack of music. With Doom I play my own music, I have a dark ambient album by the group Temple of Not that is pants shittingly terrifying when combined with Doom and makes the game even better.

Played some Winds of Thunder this morning. Beat the first level on a single life for the first time today. :P The rest of the levels are still posing a challenge. Also played a little SonSon II again, got to the tiger boss and he kicked my ass, lol farthest I've made it yet.

Whats CIBler mean? On the subject of Saturns I need to unpack mine and give it some play time, I haven't even tried the last 3 games I picked up at the swapmeet for it yet. >_< I need to find some good cheap games for it as is Astal is the only one I have I actually enjoy, Gex is ok but its not as fun as it was on the 3DO for some reason and Clockwork Knight is to easy and the other games I have are just meh. lol

Quote from: bartre on 12/13/2011, 11:53 AMfinished ys book I last night, now i'm moving on to book II!
Book II is an amazing step up over I, the story is much more detailed with a hell of a lot more dialogue and stuff to do and explore. I tore threw most of the game on my flights to and from New Jersey earlier this year and man what a way to spend time on a plane. :P I can't wait to get the TGCD copy I bought, as fun as it was playing on PSP, its always more fun to play on the older stuff. :)

I'm playing SonSon II right now, got it along with a ton of other games with my Duo-R last night and am loving it! Tough as nails and I'm making little progress but ach time I get a little farther, I'm sure I'd get even farther if I could figure out how to use the items. :P

I don't need much of anything for Christmas, when asked I drew a huge blank and the only things I could think of where Skyrim and Skyward Sword. Other then that I'm content with all I have, and besides the less thats spent on me is more that can be spent on my niece and nephews. :)
