Its Wand of Gamelon. Top part says "Demonstration Disc. Not for re-sale. Bottom part says "Zelda: The Wand of Gamelon".

Quote from: Flare65 on 05/13/2015, 11:31 PMDon't own a PS4 or Xbone, but I do own a WiiU, but sadly I don't think it will be released on the WiiU.  Somewhere on the kickstarter page it says the game is using the Unreal Engine 4, but the UE4 will not officially be supported on the WiiU according to this website:

http://kotaku.com/the-wii-u-wont-be-getting-unreal-engine-4-update-462919060

Really want the game, but not excited to have to buy a PS4/Xbone to get it.  Yeah, I know its gonna be on Steam and there will be a physical PC release of the game, but who the hell collects physical copies of PC games?
I do! Kinda.

Totally backing this for the physical PS4 OMFGBBQ Collector's Edition.

If they do port over more Ys, or Falcom titles in general, I'll gladly purchase them and let people know how they fare. I'm a massive Falcom fanboy. I just hope if they do port over more, they don't translate them so questionably.

Quote from: WingZeroKai on 05/05/2015, 01:03 PMThe 2 graphic styles "classic" and "chronicles" only change the art portraits between the PC Eternal and the PSP Chronicles versions. Otherwise from start to finish it seems pretty solid if you ignore the egregious translation.
Ah, that's interesting, so it honors the old PC Eternal release from the late 90's, 1998 I believe. Pretty sure Ys II Eternal was 1999 with upgraded graphics and then came the "Complete" package in 2001 where they released both together, just that Ys I Eternal had its graphics upgraded too.

I have done hacking work on the original Ys I Eternal actually. I've extracted the script and bitmaps which is where I stopped. Wanna port the translated results over from the complete/chronicles versions and release a full installer of the games. It's a very low priority project, but eventually.
Yeah, from what I can tell, Ys I was updated to have cleaner graphics on par with Ys II for the Complete package. I don't have the Eternal versions, just my copy of Complete. So I'm not sure if much else was changed besides the graphics being cleaner and it running on the Eternal II engine.

I grabbed it on my Nvidia Shield and beat it. Its basically a slimmed down port of the Steam release. It lacks the border mode from the PC Eternal/Chronicles release, and has a different localization that has some terrible typos and translations. Sound options are the same, controller support is good. The 2 graphic styles "classic" and "chronicles" only change the art portraits between the PC Eternal and the PSP Chronicles versions. Otherwise from start to finish it seems pretty solid if you ignore the egregious translation.

*edit* It also runs in 60fps like the PC version, though I can't speak for older/weaker hardware. I can record some footage of it after work tonight if anyone is interested to see how it compares.

Quote from: turbokon on 05/15/2014, 12:49 PMYou know what, I think I just got an idea on my next mod project.  Stuff an android device and a Bluetooth wireless controller into a turbo express shell.
It might be easier to just use a USB OTG cable and something like a custom USB PCE controller. Saves battery and ups the awesome factor.

I use one of these for my PS3 and PC. Haven't checked if it works on my PS4. Official Saturn pads for life. Works with every fighter on PS3 I've tried so far, except Chaos Code, I haven't really had time to check to see if it works, let alone play it.
That is pretty awesome.  Do you know if it works on XB360 as well?  Just states PS3 in the link.
My 360 suffered a Red Ring o' Death, so I can't personally check at the moment, but I can find out for you. I'll have a buddy bring his 360 over next week.

I have 2 copies of both Legend of Xanadu 1 and 2. They're that good. Maybe I should raffle off 1 of each. Either way, whoever wins this will be one happy gamer.

Saturn is my favorite console of all time. Either grab a JP model (I love my white one), or a US model with a Action Replay 4in1 and get to importing. So many kick ass games. You will not be disappointed.

Quote from: guest on 12/04/2013, 12:32 PMI love the gamefaqs boards with regards to the game.

its like a bunch of retards all happened to buy it.
As a Gfaqs regular, I can confirm this to be true.

Yeah, I beat the first boss without getting hit once, just using pure instinct and abusing his easily predicatble pattern.

I like it, its good, but super easy.

Man, I had nothing interesting to read without this place. Lurking other forums just isn't the same.

As someone who lived in Milwaukee for 13 years, I can say Jeff is brave soul. I've only ventured to the Southside a few times. Its like walking into Mordor...

Kudos to your bravery and awesome pickup.

What brand of CDr? And its always possible its a hardware issue, though I'm no hardware guru.
#17
Are you verifying the disc after a burn?
#18
I burn at max speed, though I have a newer Blu Ray burner. Is it possible you just have shoddy rips? Thats always something to consider.
#19
Imgburn is what I use to rip my Japanese PS2 games and burn them after ESR patching them. I've never had a bad result.

Quote from: guest on 08/21/2013, 04:08 PMThe go is great for use like a console using video out and controller pairing, but its smaller screen and awkward control layout make it inferior to a normal PSP for handheld gaming.
This sums it up. I have my Go on 6.6 PRO docked on the official Sony charging dock. I have component cables for video out and a PS3 controller specifically for it. I have a 16gb M2 in it, for 32gb of total space.

I use my PSP 2000 for ripping my UMDs and playing them on my Go. Its a great setup, but playing the Go itself cramps my hands, and I'm a smaller guy, only 5'4 or so.

Tokimeki Memorial: Forever With You(On the back of CD insert, not slip cover)
Highschool Terra Story
Neon Genesis Evangelion(Jasrac sticker and NAS sticker)

Saturn games with Jasrac printed on insert:
Kidou Senshi Zeta Gundam
Kidou Senshi Zeta Gundam Part II
Super Robot Taisen F
Super Robot Taisen F Final

PC Engine CD games with Jasrac Sticker:
Tengai Makyou Ziria(Dual Disc case first print version)
Tengai Makyou Ziria(Single Disc case reprint version)

Playstation 1 games with Jasrac Sticker:
Detana Twinbee Yahho Deluxe Pack

Quote from: guest on 07/22/2013, 02:04 PMI hope your serious.

I mean if you want the Pier Solar experience just go find someone's Final Fantasy Stolen Graphics RPG Adventure of Grandness for RPGMaker 2000.    There's highschool kids cranking that shit out all day everyday.

It'll look just as professional since they're stealing art from Squaresoft and Sega.
This made me laugh so much harder than it should have.

I wish you luck in your search, eBay prices for US copies are insane. I gave up a while ago.
#24
If you use a moon jump code in Super Mario World, Mario misses a jump and walks into an enemy and dies. Then you get to control the attract mode.

Count me in.

As a huge Saturn fan I agree with Zeta. Anyone with eyes could tell this was special. $1 at a flee market? Sounds sketchy to me.

Wai Wai World is pretty wacky in my opinion.

It kind of bums me out that the 3DS version lacks online. It'd make the game a lot more fun. I suppose I'll stop being lazy and get a Wii U sometime though.
#29
Starwars 1313 looked kind of cool, but I just wanted a Battlefront 3. Oh well.

HitJapan is my go to eBay shop. Great selection, price and service. Or you can use their webstore if you prefer to avoid ebay www.gameofjapan.com.

I not only purchased my Duo R and many Super CD and HuCard games from them, I've purchased at least $1200 USD worth of non PCE games alone from them in the last 2 years. Mostly Saturn games, I love me some Saturn.

PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Re: Hello
04/01/2013, 11:52 AM
I'd go the Duo-R route, its easier to find and cheaper than an RX, and won't need a recapping like a Duo.

Also, you're only a year younger than me! Its good to see more young blood collecting old school games.
#32
Welcome, its good to see more NEC fans. I'm sure you'll have a great time in the forums.
#33
I got a brand new sealed copy of Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story 2 for Sega Saturn, I'll take $90 for, or a sealed SaGa Frontier 2 Square Millenium Collection I'd take $1500 for.
#35
I believe Ryo Yonemitsu did the arrangements for the PCE CD games, so searching for his work might get you somewhere.
#36
Ys III on PCE is amazing, thats for sure. But honestly, if the Genesis version had come out on Mega/Sega CD, I would say that would be the definitive version of Ys III. It had the great graphics, smooth scrolling, and I love the genesis six button pad. If it had red book audio, it would have been my version of choice.

Though that didn't happen, so the PCE wins hands down for me.
#37
I assume they came the other day, but I couldn't get them until yesterday, my damn mailbox was frozen shut 0_o Damn Wisconsin winters.

Thanks again though!

Quote from: Bernie on 03/04/2013, 12:39 PMBrowsing through the blog, I found this.

QuoteAnd finally, not MM related, Dragon Warrior. I never publicly released this game. It's on CD. I'm gonna redo some the emulation code because this game was the very first NES2PCE project that I ever did, then release it publicly. I'll have to figure out BRAM syscard lib and make a save option too.
This is the first time seeing this, and I surely hope it is still on the agenda.  I would love this!  Info taken from here http://pcedev.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/mm1-mm2/#comment-544
I never knew this existed. I would love love love to play this on my Duo-R.

I'd gladly take you up on this generous offer.
#40
I'll gladly take it off your hands at the $50 asking price.

Getting a new car...stupid real life ruining my gaming goodness.

Off-Topic / Re: EMS versus Surface
10/09/2012, 03:08 PM
Surface is okay. I did it once for a few games a year or so back. Took about 1 1/2 months and came undamaged.

For bigger order its can save you quite a bit, but at the cost of time, insurance and tracking(I think?
#44
Awesome. Sounds like I'll have a blast with it. Seven's length didn't bother me too much, though I can understand the complaints.
#45
Well, I'm still waiting for a good deal on the collectors edition, but its great that you liked it.

I'm not too worried about length, I still love the original Ys despite its length.

Is there a lot of freedom, or is it pretty linear on exploration. What I mean is can I go back to older areas and just wander freely? Or do things get locked off at any point?
#46
I have some high hopes for this thing. I hope the quality is good and not some 3rd party crap.
#47
It appears Bronze District didn't make the cut. I was hopping it would.
#48
Ah, ok. So many terms that confuse the hell out of me.
#49
I always thought aliasing was smoothing, but then again I don't pay a whole lot of attention to terms in regards to graphics. I know what your talking about though. I also think many games abuse motion blur or whatever they call it, and it makes them blurry looking to me.
#50
Quote from: SignOfZeta on 09/27/2012, 10:42 PMEverything on Sony systems looks hyper aliased to me. It's obvious someone at Sony likes it that way.

I wouldn't judge a system by a Falcom game though. They aren't exactly known for pushing hardware to the limit.
I'll give them a little credit, early screens and footage of Celceta looked barely better than Seven. They came quite a ways in a short time from that.

Though you're right, PS3 and some Vita games have too much aliasing. Some games look too damn blurry in my opinion.
