@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

you could get a us 3.0 card but it'll cost quite a bit.
and where could i get one of these converters?

So at this point, I guess I have three options.

1. Buy super system card for tg-16
2. Buy pc engine
3. Mod tg-16

Based on the prices I'm seeing listed for us super system cards ($200 and over), I guess I should just buy a pcengine since I have a japanese system card already.

The japanese versions are cheaper because the console was more popular than its american counterpart, right?

Is there anything I need to know about the pcengine then?

Yes, I have a Super System Card 3.0.

Super System cards aren't region locked, are they? The instructions in the back are in both japanese and english and I've seen these cards used in tg-16s before.

The games I am trying to play are Ys IV, Seirei Senshi Spriggan, and Spriggan Mark 2 Terraform.

I believe I have a japanese super system card. American ones have the tg-16 emblem on the front, right? No wonder I got it for $15.

I recently bought an American TG-16 because I heard that the CD-ROM games were region free. HU-card games are working properly on my system, but I can't seem to get the CDs to display video at all.

The CDs spin and a female Japanese voice says this is an he system cd rom, please do not interfere with computer data, etc. Anyways, the same message repeats a second time, then a new message plays. I don't know exactly what the woman is saying, but after she is finished the console plays a beeping tone before switching from track 1 to track 2. After this tone, I hear a very brief noise and nothing else happens. If I skip to any later tracks, the game audio plays properly, but I can't get the game started.

Am I doing something wrong?
